Love the ramen and all the other food here.I tried it last month and have been wanting to come back ever since. I ordered a different ramen and it was still just as good as the first time.

Steep prices for very mediocre ramen in my opinion. I got the spicy miso and my mom got the house hinodeya ramen. She really enjoyed everything! However, I felt that the broths were not rich and umami and tasted mainly of just salt. Not a good ratio of fat in the broth, and the chashu wasn't as soft as I'd prefer. Jammy soft boil eggs were perfect though. I also wish they offered plain tonkotsu ramen and didn't charge for making it extra spicy here. The shishito peppers were also just okay; not the best I've had and definitely lacking flavor and more smoky char. The Spicy pork bowl was pretty good; never had a rice bowl with so much mayo but it's kind of a good combination that grew on me.Heater was blasted wayyyy too strongly at the spot my mom and I sat. We definitely started sweating! Place itself is super cozy though. Service is honestly just bare minimum and nothing special.

We were craving some ramen. So we started Yelping around to see what spots we could try out because it's been a while since we've gone to a new spot. So Hinodeya looked pretty legit. So we went. In short, a small ramen shop with wheat noodles with a chew and broth base that's a bit salty (even after specifying less sodium) and service that's a bit streamlined though impersonal.L O C A T I O NHinodeya is off of Thornton, not too significantly far from 880. They have roughly 14 parking spots specified only for Hinodeya customers. It's a pretty dark blue building and it looks kind of like a ramen-ya (ramen shop) you would see in Japan on the outside.I N S I D EAlso looks quite like a Japanese Ramen shop with a bar on one side and seating with tables on the other. The tables felt a bit small and pretty much enough for maybe two ramen bowls and maybe an appetizer or two. I felt a bit cramped when just eating our two bowls of ramen with our extra bowls. It's not a huge spot, but it felt like there was definitely a steady stream of folks coming in and out. I didn't see anyone having to wait for a table when we came on Saturday during lunch time.M E N UYou basically get to a table and there's a metal sign where you scan the QR code and order straight from their website. They do have some appetizers and rice bowls, but their main star is the ramen. I do appreciate that you can add, remove or substitute items and it's all straight forward on their menu what costs extra. I also like that they have vegan ramen.~ Hinodeya (House) Ramen - Less Sodium ~We figured we'd get the house ramen as it was the only one that was not spicy though in retrospect we could've gotten the spicy miso without the spiciness (duly noted for next time). We did get less sodium as I'm not a big extra salt fan. I was surprised to see the clear broth as I'm so used to seeing a more cloudy broth like the miso ramen. It did come with green onions, pork slices (chashu), marinated half egg, seaweed, baby spinach, sesame seeds, bamboo shoots, and chili thread. I thought the broth was a nice change of pace as it was light. The only downside was it was still quite salty and the spinach taste started to overtake the soup. Not that I don't like spinach, it's just not a flavor profile I'd want associated with my soup broth. The chashu was great. Very flavorful.~ Spicy Miso Butter Corn Ramen - Less Sodium, Substitute Pork with Chicken ~Same toppings as the other except we decided to substitute the pork with chicken and there's butter and corn. Though the chicken was quite moist and tender, it just lacked flavor unlike the pork. I would stick to the pork unless you can't eat pork. I also liked this broth a bit more though I think the butter is unnecessary. The spiciness is a back of throat spicy so every time I ate this one, it felt like the back of my throat was being attacked and needing to cough or drink some water. Again it was the right amount of spiciness (mild) and I did enjoy this one a bit more than the house ramen probably because of the lack of spinach and a more creamier broth. Both noodles were cooked al dente though it did have a bit of bite to them versus chew. Maybe I just don't eat enough noodles to judge but it was fine to me.S E R V I C EWe entered and were told to take a table in the center though we weren't really led to it. We asked if we could actually take a table on the outside which they did let us and cleaned it quickly. They gave us small plates, napkins, soup spoons and chopsticks as well as water and cups. Outside of that outside of serving us our food, that was it. They checked in once to see if everything was fine. It felt a bit impersonal to be honest. But I get it as everything was online and you basically pay already after you order and also pre-tip which is hard to do especially if you'd like to tip based on service which you don't really get to assess until you actually get served something. Again just a little different than what I'm used to.O V E R A L LNot a bad ramen shop with a variety to cater to different dietary restrictions. Very cozy though I'm sure could be packed on certain days or nights, so make sure to check their waitlist on Yelp before going. Definitely check them out!

I was excited to hear about Hinodeya opening a location in Newark as the last time I visited was their San Francisco location and recall loving it! The establishment is small but you can sign up on the waitlist via Yelp in advance. We had to wait roughly 20-30 minutes before we were seated. Staff here were attentive and friendly. I think what left me with an average feeling about this location was the food. Chicken karaage was good. Not super crispy on the outside but did have pan fried like layer. Chicken was tender on the inside and I like the shishito pepper addition. I recall the creamy vegan ramen being so delicious when I last tried it but trying it here, I wasn't as blown away. I felt like the ramen was on the saltier end and it made it hard to eat it all. The same goes to the house ramen. The broth has a light, seafood flavor but it does get salty. Overall, food here seemed saltier than the San Francisco location or perhaps it was just our batch of food this time around. Not bad overall, but didn't feel it was amazing either. Ordering and paying is super easy with the QR code on the table and they provide your own water to self-pour so you don't need a staff member to assist you much!

I'm very particular about my ramen, but I can confidently recommend Hinodeya.Great broth, noodles, included topping and ambiance.Arrived around 6pm on Sunday and was able to be seated right away. However the small restaurant filled up quickly after 30 minutes.I had the House Ramen with Mild Spice. It was SO GOOD. Broth wasn't too heavy. The noodles had a nice chew texture. The char siu was tender and flavorful. I know a good bowl of ramen when they have a jammy egg. They do charge a little bit extra if you want to exceed the mild spice but that wasn't a big deal to me.Ordered the takoyaki which was also very good! A little pricey for 4 pieces. The restaurant itself is incredibly pleasant. It has a quaint but still sophisticated atmosphere. The majority of the tables are for 2-4 but they have two larger tables for bigger groups. Service is prompt. To order, you place the order on your phone. OVERALL: I will definitely be back!

Location is kinda easy to find. Either park behind the building or in front. The place is clean. Order through the phone. It would be nice if restaurants require to order through the phone, they would provide free WIFI to do so.The prices are reasonable. The service is quick.Tried the Miso broth and the house broth ramen which are good. Beware if you order the crispy garlic, it's a bit spicy. I don't remember it mentioned spicy on the menu. In the summer they had a special cold ramen which was good too. The octopus balls are good too.Not many ramen options in the area, lucky found one good one.

Cute little ramen shop that's surprisingly efficient. The store was always full but rarely had a line and we were seated in mediately on a Sunday at 1pm. This is a QR ordering spot and we got the Hinodeya ramen (house special) and spicy miso butter ramen. Definitely preferred the spicy miso ramen better than the Hinodeya ramen, which had a dashi-broth base. Spicy miso butter ramen wasnt spicy at all (to me) and was rich without being too thick. Noodles are thicker than what you'd typically get at ramen spots and it's a pricey bowl for what it is, but it was yummy and I'd come back.

Cute little ramen shop. It's small, but they utilized the space well. We had the Hinodeya house ramen which was a good ratio of noodles to broth. The noodles had a nice chewy texture and the broth was light and flavorful without being too rich or creamy. The soft-boiled egg was done perfectly. Service was friendly and checked in with us just the right amount. They also have a clam ramen, which is not something you see too often, and three different kinds of vegan ramen. Their ramen reminds me of the ramen I had in Japan. If I lived closer, this would most definitely be my go-to ramen spot. Already craving me a bowl of ramen just writing about this. Until next time!

Plenty of parking. I really wish I took a photo of the fried vegetables dish. I am more sure what it was called but it was fried perfectly. Texture and taste was perfect too. I got the clam ramen and honestly the broth is really simple but so flavorful. I appreciated the amount of clams they gave me since it seemed plentiful. I thought the noodles were alittle bit too short though for my liking but I believe they're hand and home made ramen noodles. Paying was really convent since you're just paying for your own portion based on who ordered whatever. No need to split the tab.
