Waited 20 mins for the food , and it wasn't even what I had asked for . I'm not sure if this place is under new ownership? Both of the two orders I received were incorrect. The meat was dry and overcooked. Disappointing I use to love this place.

I'm down here on Oakland looking for iconic Oakland restaurants that aren't on the big tourist list. I came across this Hegenburger burger place that's been here at this same location for at least 35 years. I don't know if it's the same owners but it might be the same family. This place isn't quite as divy as the Chubby Freeze I found just up the street a ways. This is more where the people in suits might come for lunch, not the local pharmaceutical dealer.The interior is clean and simple and the food is pretty standard, so nothing super fancy like grass fed this or that, just real 1/3 lb patty burgers and fries. That's what I had and it was decent. Not off the charts great, but I'd stop in here again if I was in the area. Hegenburger on Hegenburger Blvd. ... cute!

I don't like leaving bad reviews but I'm not sure if this is under a new management. I used to come here all the time but it's not the same! Once I picked up my order everything had no flavor. Double bacon burger had no bacon which cost an additional $1.50 plus 60 cents for cheese on top of $12, Tuna sandwich barely had any tuna but lots of lettuce, Fries were over cooked, chicken tender and chicken nuggets were dry and didn't come with ranch or any sauce for that matter! Fish burger wasn't what I expected it to be it had two slices of fried fish side by side that was a first for me anywhere I've gone to! Honestly the food that this business served me it seemed like it was frozen food fried up and not made with love! Overall I will never be coming back you guys have to do better! I spent $80 worth of food and this is just not ok!

Came in and tried the #1 hegenburger combo... man oh man that burger was sure tasty! And the fries were delicious too! The service was on point! Very polite and was very chill inside.. came in around 10:30.. I will be coming back to try the rest of the menu

If I could write this place zero stars I would I used to love this place when the old owners had it. The new owner just cussed me out. I waited over 15 minutes for my order that I called him came inside for him. It still tell me he's not putting my order because he hasn't charged him so why when I called did you say 10 minutes? I was on my lunch break so I had to go back to work. I asked for a refund because it was taking too long and he took me out and cursed me whole bitches and all types of stuff. My food hadn't even been started
