Hayward Produce Market

Of all the times I have been here I loved when I was able to get nachos from the store, but it seems that every time I go here they are not open now or they are busy. United which is down the street is a more reliable solution for ordering nachos on a quick basis. I only went here a couple of times because of how cheap it was but their taquaria hours are not reliable.

This is THE place in the whole of the Bay Area to get chicharones. Seriously, I have never had a better batch of chicharones. They are consistently the crunchiest and best flavored around. None compare. It is the perfect balance of crunchy, creamy, and hearty. It's hard to explain- you just have to grab a bag and let them speak for themselves. Something else that is quite delightful here is you can buy your fresh fish and then have them fry it for you. There is something magical about the smell of fresh fish frying. For real.

Hayward Produce Market isn't average for a market. usually by a few casual glances within a few steps into a market i can see what's offered.not so here. didn't see any meat/fish section, taqueria, nor liquor section. (maybe it's in the rear. odd it this was so).did see mexican groceries/ice creams, mexican baked goods .,buys: Bimbo's mini muffins, 4 pieces 1,79-20 gms sugar, above average sweetness.-texture unlike american muffins, more cakelike.-all mexican bakes had lots of sugar.take outs:-no cars in parking lot-no patrons in store, post lunch....

Very good store and employees. I've shopped here several times and am especially happy with produce dept. I would buy fresh fish more often if there was more choices of types of fish.

I always come here for oyster boxes today I bought one for my wife's birthday , she loves them, but to my surprise when I got home and opened the box to star grilling them, a lot of them were already opened and they had a rotten smell, I went back to the store thinking they would just do a simple exchange but the girl that was in charge said the manager was not there and she could not help us, I also asked for her name to know who I was speaking to and the managers name to know who I would need to talk to the next day and she refused to give them to me. Not very good customer service, I asked another employee and her name is Belen, I work hard for my money for someone to just take it like that, 63 dollars gone just like that l, I will never shop there again

No mask needed to enter. No Covid precautions encouraged by workers nor any notices posted at the entrance. I asked why they don't encourage a mask, and the response was " people do what they want to do.

Their meat selection is legit. Very clean and organized. I think its great for a local super market.

For me this store deserve one start on the cleaning Yesterday I went to get some food at the produce area is infested whit FLEAS my 8 year old son Has flea bites I'm going to call the health department, looks like the owner don't wanna fix the problem don't go there it's very bad.

Good place for groceries locally. Prices are good and selection is as good as a Safeway type store.

I am giving this place 2 stars, just because its close to home. But 3 negative stars. Way to expensive, really bad customer service, specially the "supervisor" Ana. We handed her a container of sourcream and told her it was expired, she didnt grab it and just said she will get it later. We put it back, so if ur planning on coming to this super market, just check the expiration dates because almost everything in this place is expired.
