One of my favorite places for a hot bowl of soup. Food is definitely tasty. The broth is flavorful but the amount of ingredients could have more things, as the pictures made it look like there's plenty of food. There are a lot of options, from rice to congee to noodle soup. I like how there are multiple options for drinks, even sugar cane juice! The service was attentive and quick, and there is a self service water station. You order at the cashier and then sit down to wait for your food.Ambiance - very home-like, casual eatery where you want to have a nice meal that's close to no frills.

Pho brioth was good. Pork chops pretty tender. Garlic noodles all stuck together and sauce not very well distributed. The big disappointment was the wonton soup. Wonton's had a lot of filler in them and bone and gristle chunks.I wanted to like it because of the price and location, but meh

My co-workers and I love going here for our lunch break! They are very quick and efficient. Very casual setting. Lots of tables, but it can get busy during lunch time on a weekend. It is in a shopping center so there is ample of parking. The food is delicious! I really love the fried chicken wings. Nice and crispy outside and juicy inside. We tend to get this as a table appetizer often. I got a number 4 with egg noodles. I love the wontons. My friend got number 1 with egg noodles, he likes those toppings. and my other friend got number 4 with wide noodles. Everyone was very satisfied with the food. Portion sizing is always nice here. Pricing definitely has gone up the past few years, but i think that is with everywhere.Viet coffee was so tasty! I could not stop drinking it.

===TL;DR=== - Hainoi's special chicken noodle soup with ride noodle- Shredded chicken noodle soup with thin rice noodle ===TMI===Straight forward menu, you order first, pay, and then get seated. Also self serve water and tea. I was under the impression that this place specialized in chicken but the food was just ok. Their menu specifies the following: "All noodle soup is regular size with green onions, red onions, fried shallots and cilantro." I ordered my shredded chicken noodle soup with no red onions and cilantro..... the end product was just shredded noodles, chicken, and soup. -facepalm- noodles tasted undercooked imo, chicken had more breast than thighs but the soup was decent. I will admit at least their breast aren't dry. I asked for fish sauce on the side along with sriracha so I can "save" it. I just don't taste the fattiness and richness from a chicken broth. My partner enjoyed his bowl but he also killed a third of their jalapeño jar so there's that.

I remember coming here before renovations. This time around, it wasn't as good as I remember, but still ate most of it. You order at the front and seat yourself + Get your own water and tea.Hanoi Special Chicken Noodle Soup: 3.5/5, got glass noodles for personal preference. The soup itself was decent, but the chicken was dry, which is the focus of this order. Wasn't sure if it was fresh or frozen. Noodles were good and chewy. When we were there, most of the other tables hadn't been cleaned up yet so there were just lots of bowls. The space itself was pretty big and decorated though. Would come back to order something else to try.

OMG...freaking love this place to death. I am a hardcore chicken soup girl. When I'm at a pho place I always look for chicken pho and when I'm at a ramen place I always look for chicken ramen. The fact that I stumbled upon this place that literally specializes in chicken noodle soup...I cried. The food here? AMAZING. Portions are HUGE (mind you we got the regular size). The price point is great. The soup is clean and comforting. I got the #1 w/ the clear noodles. My bf got the #3 with vermicelli rice noodles. Both of them were 10/10-so comforting. They also came with a side of ginger scallion oil sauce to dip your chicken in. The sauce was on point. We also go the salt and pepper wings. It came with 12 pieces--that's a shit ton. The chicken was FRESH, JUICY, and PIPING HOT. We didn't tackle these until after we killed a good portion of our noodles and they were STILL so hot. When we bit into it, the juice was literally dripping out *cries*. I also highly recommend eating it with an extra sprinkle of pepper! The service here is super efficient. You order first at the counter and then grab a seat. Your food comes out in like 5 minutes. Ambiance is great too. The store is super spacious with plenty of seating. It was also quite clean! If you're looking for a nice hearty and clear chicken soup -- this is the place to go. 10/10!

After browsing for a restaurant with menu items that appealed to me, I found this place. Of course, my eyes are bigger than my appetite. I narrowed my choices to two. I had ordered the chicken, sausage claypot and lemongrass pork chop with garlic noodles. The friendly counter person helped me narrow the dish to eat in and the other to go. Since the claypot had the all important rice crust at the bottom that was one to dine in. The claypot isn't like traditional clay deep bowl. Nonetheless it was presented nicely and sizzling when it was delivered. It came with a bowl of broth and accompanying sauce. The broth was deep in favor which I suspect would be in their pho. That I will return to try. The claypot is exactly what I had. Personally I would add some black mushroom but that would be another dish and perhaps not their original intent. Every bite whether with sausage or chicken and rice was awesome perhaps when hitting the crusty bottom rice. It remind me of home cooking growing up. For drink, I had a cup of hot Vietnamese coffee. Usually I get the iced version. On this early and slightly cool day, it was welcome. It was warm, creamy and sweet as it should be. To be added at a later time, my take on the lemongrass pork chop with garlic noodles. I expect it will be equally good. The dishes are reasonably priced too. Until the next time, I will be back.

Let me start with..I ordered takeout! Food Review;-[Vietnamese iced coffee] Strong, sweet, creamy goodness! A must try for newbies!-[HK style iced milk tea] I love my HK milk teas! This one is good, maybe put more tea taste, less ice. Other than that, loved it!-[Popcorn Chicken w/ Garlic Noodles] I loved this one! Usually when you get popcorn chicken, you'd taste the regular basil popcorn chicken from alot of places. This one on the other hand, had a unique batter. Flavor was different from the regular popcorn chicken, and it had some good spices in there! And don't let me forget the chewy flavorful garlic noodles that came with it! I'd order this again! -[Lemongrass Pork Chop with Hanoi Rice] I loved the flavor on the rice. The Pork Chop had a great flavor profile, but it was a bit on the tough/chewy side. I would love to give this one another try. I haven't gone to San Chong market in ages, this plaza is a hidden gem in San Leandro. And the plaza switched up for the better. It looked nice when I went yesterday, and there were more stores around, including Sheng Kee Bakery! Wow!Alright, the restaurant review;I love the ambiance! Nice, dimmed lights, music playing. The customer service was exceptional (I know its my first time here, but keep doing great service like how you did mine). I will most definitely be coming back! I'd like to try the rest of the items on the menu + the ones I had today on another occasion. Thanks Hanoi Chicken Noodle family for having me.

My first time trying this place out and the food was horrible. If you're gonna put up a huge sign advertising specifically chicken noodles, you better have the soup to back it up. Instead, the soup was plain and barely even a chicken broth. The chicken pieces were plain as well as the ginger scallion dipping sauce that came with it. This order was over 16 bucks. We also ordered the Hunan chicken over rice and it was a disaster! The color of the rice was there, but there was no taste at all. The chicken pieces had no flavor and were no different than the chicken pieces that came with the noodle soup. Additionally, I didn't like the way we had to immediately order at the counter once we walked in. Lastly, the outside appearance was totally different than what would be expected inside. It's a one time deal only!

When you enter you immediately order, then select your own table. Once seated it is all self service(which I don't mind) from the tea, to water & take home containers. While I have visited several times, the consistency & flavor doesn't leave me disappointed. Here are my go to dishes:Hanoi Shredded Chicken $15.99-moist shredded pieces of chicken with a garlic/ginger/scallion dipping sauce that always increases my appetite. The rice is also moist & fluffy. Gai Lan is always fresh & boiled to a perfect tenderness.Grilled Lemongrass Chicken in Clay Pot $16.49 for 50 cents more you get a perfectly crispy charred rice cracker from this clay pot. The lemongrass chicken lives up to its name with a fragrant lemongrass aroma. The chicken can be a tad bit salty, but add a crispy piece of clay pot rice & you have the perfect mixture of flavor which each bite. Garlic Noodle Popcorn Chicken $14.99 nicely breaded chicken pieces & a mildly sweet sauce that isn't overly sweet & spicy. Whenever I visit it creates such a source of home cooked feeling for me, so I'll be visiting frequently.
