Do not, I repeat, do not get the corn cakes. They were so dry and awful that I don't even think my dog would eat it. Their vegetarian eggrolls were just okay, they tasted cheap and didn't have much flavor with the cheaper Shredded veggies inside. The fried shrimp rolls were great. Would definitely recommend this as an appetizer.Their mango sticky rice was a 5 star hit.Thai tea was good. This place was very hit or miss. 3 stars for average.

I just ordered the Tum Thai papaya salad and the sate chicken to go. The chicken was fine, but the Tum Thai was wet and soggy and had no fresh shrimp in it, rather what seemed like a bunch of tiny chewy freeze-dried shrimps. It was also far spicier than the "medium spicy" that I ordered and expected. I believe I saw a sign that said "under new management" when I picked up the food. I usually considered the food to be decent (but not spectacular) under the old management, so I'm very disappointed by this. I understand that there might be a learning curve for new management. But the decision to substitute something which is vastly inferior to the normal fresh shrimp (which one expects on this dish and which is featured in their advertising) does not demonstrate good judgment, skill, or values. These new managers really do need to try harder.

Grand Avenue Thai is five stars for food, ambiance, and service. What more could you ask for in a restaurant? The food is expertly cooked and comes out piping hot. The whole tilapia is fried to perfection. And the prices are great!

Back for a visit after new owners have taken over. I was greeted and seated quickly. Even offered a table I could color on, to keep myself amused, but not tonight. I wanted to focus on the food.I ordered fresh rolls, garlic pepper chicken and lemongrass tilapia in a sweet and spicy basil sauce. Also, coconut soup to go to keep the hubby happy. The rolls were tasty with lots of fresh lettuce leaves, avocado, and vermicelli noodles, served with a sweet Seasame sauce. The garlic pepper chicken was loaded with colorful vegetables and tender chicken in a delicate Thai sauce, perfect for combining with rice.Last, but definitely not least, the lemongrass tilapia was an elixir for the senses! When the dish was put down I was struck on how fragrant it was - basil, lemongrass, orange(?) and who knows what else. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and each bite brought that fragrance into my mouth. I'm not kidding.. it was an amazing experience. To top it off the waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. This place is redeemed in my book. I'll be back.

Would give it 3.5 stars. It has become little sad since pandemic...visiting after 4 years. It used to be a lovely Thai spot for family n friends for us. The place is bit emptish and sad. The waitress was bit stressed and not very pleasant at times. Food is still good but perhaps not thai authentic as such. I would say come here for healthy food type scene but not so much if you really want Thai food.We shared:- veggie fresh roll. Really yummy though avocado was bit on the raw side...- raw papaya salad. Decent but not very authentic- tum yum soup. Too sweet definitely not authentic Tum yum soup.- fish ginger was nice. Our 4 year old liked this a lot. I felt dish lacked enough gravy and flavourful but otherwise plenty of veggies and not overcooked so quite healthy in that regard.- pepper shrimp. Again with lots of veggies which was nice.As I said come try if you like ample veggies not overcooked and healthy style dishes. But overall not Thai food i would say. Still a good option nearby.

Second time here- this is a perfect reliable neighborhood staple. I got the eggplant dish under the seafood portion of the menu but with tofu instead. The eggplant is cooked so perfectly and the tofu soaks up the flavors really well. My partner got yellow curry which was tasty too. It seems like a lot of people order for takeout here so it definitely wasn't busy inside. Our server was so nice and remembered us :) We will definitely be returning! The bill came to about $60 before tip. Sit facing the street so you can people watch. Bring a Tupperware so you can have the rest of your dish for lunch tomorrow.

They are a good neighbor spot for take out. I can rely on properly prepared rice, garlic or brown or white. Their sauces are thin, tasty and occasionally salty, but paired with the rice there is no issue. They are quick and reliable as the food is consistent. I like the pumpkin red curry because of the heartiness on a cold evening.

The worst pad kee mao that I have ever had in the Bay Area. The red curry is also worse than average, but at least the pumpkin curry was passable. The only point in their favor is that the food here is also cheaper than most Thai food options out there.
