Food is great and portions are bigger than your usual dim sum places. Usually I would do 2.5 x number of people then round down to order the right amount of food but with this place you can do 1.5 x total persons then round up.Oolong tea used real leaves instead of a tea bag and got plenty strong near the end of the kettle. This is what we got:- Radish cake with XO sauce came out crispy and flavorful.- Hargow shrimp was really good and skin was thicker and flavorful - Shiumai was 1.5x bigger than usual- Steamed spareribs were not porky, taro slices were bigger too so you can actually eat it.

Ordered: - lobster noodle $26.99 2.5/5 Lobster (~1lb) with noddles dish was subtly seasoned with ginger and scallions. Edible but meh. Lobster was not fresh as other reviewers mentioned. Lobster was missing a claw (typically a sign of a less fresh shellfish). Noodles in the lobster sauce had a slight greasy mouth feel. Would not order this dish again. This was a take out order. Service was efficient.

I came here yesterday for the first time and really enjoyed the food! We ordered sweet and sour korubata pork, General Tso's chicken, gailan with oyster sauce, Peking duck, spare ribs, and fried rice. The waiter also said they could use the duck carcass to make soup so we tried that as well. I really enjoyed all of the food. The only thing that didn't really stand out to me was the Peking duck, but the soup was absolutely delicious and refreshing. My only complaint is the fried rice came last after all the sides were ordered. It would've been nice to eat the fried rice with the sides. At the end of dinner they also served us dessert soup. I highly recommend checking out this Chinese restaurant!

Excellent choice for Cantonese style Chinese food. Its quality is very good, only slightly less sophisticated as the Koi Palace or Peninsula or Mayflower chains. Their prices are above average, but the quantity of each dish is 50% more than other restaurants. Service is Chinese style so don't expect top notch service. But, it's definitely adequate if you're not finicky or demanding. Replenish tea & water promptly when asked. And dishes are served piping hot! Excellent! Decor is more of a family style and nothing fancy but clean. A worthwhile regular visit for quality food all around.

Service 2/5The only bad experience we received from dining here was the tip culture. An auntie came to ask us why tip wasn't at least 15%, we showed her that we calculated the tip from the subtotal (pretax) and she proceeded to leave by saying "whatever, I don't care" in the rudest way possible. To me, that's a big turn down from restaurants. The tipping culture is just so corrupt in the Bay Area... Food 4/5Food is solid and portions are great. Ambiance 4/5Typical canto restaurants you will find in the Bay Area. Most diners speak canto. Dining area is quite noisy.

Meet up with friends to try Gourmet house in fremont. Is next to osaka supermarket. They have very extensive menu with some unusual traditional ingredients on their menu. Tried Lucid Ganoderma firat time with soup (靈芝燉湯) was a unique and healthy choice. Slightly bitter, great favor. We order coffee ribs, topped with whipped cream. The German pork knuckle (德國豬腳) is always a hearty favorite with crispy skin! We also got dishes with fish and red neck clams. All dishes are so delicious. Ending with lobster and noodles and complmentary dessert with cocunt milk with sago and taro. Service is not bad, food came pretty quick. Ambiance is ok, not compare to pearl bay or koi palace but is good for casual meal.

first time trying Gourmet House. The food was good and I would say they give larger portion samples compared to other places. Nothing else particularly stood out to me.They are a bit understaffed so it is hard to get a waiters attention but when you do, they are quick to help get what you need.

Gourmet House in Fremont is a hidden culinary treasure, offering a tantalizing Chinese dining experience that is well worth the drive. It's conveniently next to a Japanese shopping market and two tea shops, which adds to the overall experience. The extensive menu promises a culinary adventure, and Gourmet House delivers. We ate the Honey Walnut, Fried Fish, Sizzling Beef, Lobster Noodles, Oysters, and Peking Duck Pork Chops. Each dish was a masterpiece in its own right, boasting amazing flavors that left our taste buds in awe. My favorite was definitely the Honey Walnut. It was a perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. While the Fried Fish was good, the saltiness was a tad overpowering. A small hiccup in an otherwise stellar lineup. But as long as you have water, rice, or tea, it is easy to get over. The service at Gourmet House was outstanding, with a friendly and helpful staff that went the extra mile. The ability to communicate in English was appreciated, which is nice for those who don't speak Chinese (or don't speak well, haha)The ambiance was inviting, with the enticing aroma of the food adding to the overall atmosphere. The spacious layout allowed for comfortable dining without the worry of bumping into neighboring tables.Gourmet House is a must-visit for Chinese cuisine enthusiasts willing to make the drive to Fremont. It may be a drive but you won't regret it!

I went to the Gourmet house 2nd times in less than one month. Their dimsum is big and great quality. I tend to order a lot of dimsum but because they are big and tasty on each dumplings, I end up taking home to go. My favorite dimsum here is shumai ( pork and shrimp dumplings) and hawcow. The shrimp dumplings. I also love Thir scallops dumplings. Service is so efficient. I was very happy when I called in 10 minutes before I arrived and I ordered food and they had my table ready. I had a long drive waiting so I ordered in advance and the restaurant was so accommodating my needs. The restaurant is very authentic. Everyone seems like they are repeated customers and they are ordering the same type of food. I think they might had fired hotpot. ( 火鍋. ) Also this restaurant had a huge banner for the lobster noodles. For only $26 I will try to order it next time. This restaurant is great for family to get together. They serve a lot of quantity and great flavor.I found a best dimsum restaurant in the Bay Area!

Came here on a Friday night. Friendly service. Deep fried fish takes time to cook, so i ordered it right away. And took some time to decide what other dish to order. Fried rice and asparagus honey pepper sirloin were so good. we also received some sweet potatoes tapioca desserts on house at the end.
