The service here was great. We had a very helpful and courteous waiter. The food came out quickly and the location is great (across the street from the Ranch 99 with the Daiso and Savers). The ambiance was pleasant with large windows which let in a nice sunlight. With my rating of their dim sum, I am going to compare it to Mayflower, my current top dim sum spot.Shrimp & Chives dumpling =tiedSalty egg yolk dessert bun=Golden Sand Harbor wins because they give more filling. It came out hot and was delicious and creamyJin Dui=Mayflower is my preference as I felt Golden's had a too strong five spice flavorTaro Gok=tied (can somewhere please serve it piping hot-yes I want it to practically burn my mouth)Chinese broccoli- this one goes to MayflowerXiao Long Bao- Mayflower by a landslide...do not order this here at Golden and if you do, don't say I didn't warn you. Also it isn't served with black vinegar but after trying it, even that couldn't save it. No one in my party wanted to finish eating it.Flaky dim sum with pork-Golden Sand Harbor (Mayflower doesn't have this)

we came here on a saturday afternoon thinking it will be crowded, but when we arrived, the restaurant was quite empty. plenty of big and small tables were available. The cost per dim sum was definitely more expensive than before. We pulled up Koi's dim sum menu and found that Golden Sand Harbor was more expensive than Koi's (dublin). The reason we chose Golden Sand Harbor because in the past, their prices were not as expensive as Koi's even though we do prefer the taste of Koi'sThe siu mai during this visit was not good at all. the color looked old and the taste was off. Even my kids who aren't necessary picky eaters didn't like the siu mai this time. The chicken feet was a hit or missed. i had one that was full of flavor but when i ate a second one, it smelled spoiled. the deep fried green mochi were delicious but i find them to be smaller than before. i dont remember the mochi to be the size of those frozen glutinous rice ball that you eat during winter solstice. It was not that worth it given the size of it. All other dishes were average. nothing stood out positively. Not sure if we would go back to Golden Sand Harbor if their quality continues like this.

We came here tonight for closing out the year dinner. I was so hopeful for a delicious dinner since we have been here a couple times before. It had more people in this restaurant that I have ever seen. 6:30 reservations- our older female waitress took our order around 7pm. People all around us were getting their food- people who came after us were served. At 7:35 I asked our waitress after flagging her down-- where's our food? She said she would ask, but does not come back to us. I had to go to the front to ask where's our food? I asked kindly. 7:45-7:50 our soup is served - pigs knuckles with lotus root- it was the worse soup I have ever had- it literally tasted like warm water. But I ate the meat in it because I was so hungry. Literally no flavor at all - brown soup - zero flavor. Great if you need a low sodium soup because it was like water. The chef needs to try their food before serving it. It was like they added water to it because they ran out of soup. - soup - no flavor like brown water - 0/4 - chicken wings 4/4- fried salt and pepper pork chops 3.5/4- green tea sesame ball 4/4- sesame ball 3.5/4- house crispy thin noodles- lacked good flavor 2.5/4- chicken feet - was not cooked long enough so it didn't fall off the bone 1/4 -cny fried sticky rice - lacked flavor , and didn't seem like it was short grain sweet rice - wasn't sticky and didn't have that bite- 2/4- mini egg tarts 3/4 It seemed to have less egg - flakiness was ok- stir fried bean sprouts with garlic - 3.5/4-beef with mushrooms 3/4 mushrooms seemed a little bit undercooked. But good flavor- Peking duck two ways - 3.7/4 good crisp, came on a bed of cabbage. Hoisin sauce was thinned out. Missing some green onions or chives Stir fried duck meat with zucchini - came with a bed of iceberg lettuce - it was good. -beef chow fun- .2.7/4 I just remember a lot of cabbage and bean sprouts. - braised pork knuckle with fat Choy and lettuce - 1/4Our original waitress was missing in action - she later came and filled up our water. Seemed like all the waitresses came to serve the food. The younger waiter took over - he told us what was inside each dish ( the ones he brought us ). I told him that the soup lacked any flavor - we offered for him to try it or at least try the one in the back. My mom asked for a refund of the soup - since it was basically dirty water. He offered to give us neen go or lo bok go. My mom opted for lo bak go. None of the party really wanted it - but since this is all they were offering we took it. Will we back ? Prob not. It was so disappointing. Ambience - decor ok. The smell when you enter is a little better(not mildew) but it smells like an air freshener with bleach. I don't want to smell air freshener - I want to smell nothing or I'd rather have a food smell. Pls taste your food you're serving. Maybe it's better when it's not so busy? Either way- do better. :( So sad . I'm full because we had so many dishes for the 8 of us ( 2 of them kids)-

First time at Golden Sand Harbor and had a nice experience from the delicious dim sum and friendly, attentive service....i know right? Place was half full with many large parties for the pre-holidays. Set up is mark items off a list accompanied by a picture menu for those not familiar with items. Ordered the basic items of shrimp and pork dumpling, shrimp-stuffed eggplant, fried shrimp dumpling, fried taro and calamari...yes, very shrimp-centric items. All delicious but would pass on the calamari as overcooked and chewy. Definitely will make a return visit as I've tried many dim sum spots but have to say Golden Sand Harbor does some good dumplings. Service was definitely better than most Chinese restaurants. Replenishing tea pot, water, checking to make sure we received our complete order, etc. Pricing on the higher side. For 8 items: about $45-$50/person including tax/tip/tea with leftovers. Plenty of lot parking in the Dollar Tree shopping center.

This is my favorite place for dim sum. My fiancé and I always come here with our parents. The quality of the dim sum is excellent, and I love how the food always comes out so quickly.

Food is good. Not the cleanest place though; the tables are a bit sticky and had to ask acouple times to have them wiped before ordering. Fast service for dim sum.

Date: Sunday, September 8th, 2024Time: around 1:30pmMeal: Lunch TakeoutMy parents were visiting and brought over a few things for lunch. One of them was a crab dish from Golden Sand Harbor. They know I adore seafood, especially shellfish. So I was excited to try the salted egg yolk crab. Typically I find deep fried crab dishes a little dry. I'm more if a saucy crab kinda girl. The meat in this dish was indeed kinda dry. But the weirdest thing was there was barely any salted egg yolk flavor. Not sure how much they put in the batter, but it was super duper light. If I was craving salted egg, this would not satisfy that craving. My parents took me here for dim sum before covid. I remember it being pretty good. So for now, I'll say they are A-OK.REVIEW #3558

It's awesome to have dim sum for dinner. One of the few Chinese restaurants that serves dim sum for lunch and dinner. You can order traditional Chinese dishes as well. A good variety if you want dim sum as well as dishes. All staffs are friendly except the one with short curly hair. The only complaint about the restaurant is the unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Since the bathroom is at the front of the restaurant, you can smell it right when you walk in.

Most of the food we ordered on Lunar New Year day was good, but the fried taro dumpling was TERRIBLE! The taro filling had a heavy ammonia flavor that we couldn't even eat it.
