Gelateria Bella Roma

After drinks with coworkers, I stopped in to Gelateria Bella Roma. Nice little shop located in the downtown area of Sunnyvale. Unfortunately, the store was a bit slow but the owner was friendly and nice. They offer quite a lot of flavors to choose from! Though, unfortunately they do not offer samples. I am glad he has a sign up stating this. I decided on a fruity gelato. I got a kid size passionfruit. It was just the right size as I was full from dinner and just wanted a palette cleanser. The flavor was mildly tart and sweet.

Stopped in for an afternoon sweet treat with the nieces. There were an abundant of flavor profiles to choose from and the best part -- everything is made to its perfection in-house. The young man running the front of the house was the grandson of the mastermind himself (grandpa was in the kitchen putting together his perfected gelato recipes). We each ordered a different flavor and they were all exactly as such -- not overly sweet or overbearing, and with the right tones of chocolate or fruit. I love a gelato or sorbet (I opted for sorbet) on a hot afternoon. It hits differently in comparison to its ice cream counterpart.The design against the wall using the cups to draw out their name is clever and a subtle marketing tactic -- love it.Samples are not honored so you should have a pretty good idea of your flavor preference. By not providing samples, it can help manage costs (extra spoons, etc. and prevent the spread of potential germs). I support it and am not complaining.In addition to Italian Ice Cream, these guys also offer milk shakes and pints and quarts to take to-go.Grab a sweet treat and keep strolling through the various surrounding shops and restaurants. Support local small businesses y'all! They need us now more than ever.

Got the small cup with 2 flavors; pistachio and guava. The gelato itself is less creamy than others I've had but had full on flavor especially the pistachio. Their pistachio gelato had a stronger pistachio nut taste than other ice cream shops and those sold in grocery stores. The guava gelato is closer to a sorbet than ice cream. It had the slight sour tart flavor. Not bad for $5. Small store but don't judge by the appearance because they offer a lot of flavors. They even had matcha flavor. The guy at the counter was nice and friendly , smiling the whole time despite the long line. He didn't look flustered at all which was nice.

We just recently had a nice gelato dessert at Gelatoria Bella Roma!This was our first time here, and it did not disappoint! Gelato can be hit or miss with some of the flavors, and from the group, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the assortment of chocolate and cookie options!I know it's not a huge gelato custom, but I would've liked an option for a topping or two, but in general, the flavors were rich, creamy, and delicious!

A favorite spot for something sweet to follow up a meal. My son had a dulce de leche with mint chocolate. While I normally go for a mix of the coffee and the hazelnut, this time I opted for something a little lighter... Lychee and mango. The flavors were spot on, and the gelato was light and refreshing.

In a 2023 that had its hit rock bottom moments as well as "wow, I can't believe this is happening; I am so grateful," I have been consistent with seeking out places for two things: coffee and ice cream.When I happened upon Gelateria, I decided to step in without looking at the reviews (in line with the fact that I had not actively sought the place out in the first place--talk about adventure lol). I stumbled upon it as I did with many of the good things in life. I am tempted to go off on a tangent about how when you chase something, the more it flees + that it's when you're in the zone and pursuing a purposeful life, you obtain what you really need; however, I will resist that temptation.I loved how organized, clean, vibrant, and aesthetic the gelato displays were. They have a lot of fruity options as well as more tiramisu-chocolate-nutty options as well. The owner did recommend the cookies n cream, tiramisu, and pistachio; however, I chose one of his recs (pistachio) along with the Blood Orange since I was looking for something tangy as my second option (note that I got the option for two flavors). First off, the flavors were PERFECT! Like they were literally what I expected. Eating the Blood Orange was like biting into a ripe, well, Blood Orange (perfectly tangy and sweet). The only thing was that it was veering towards being a little too icey (did wish the consistency was a little thicker). The pistachio was rich and creamy and full of the nuttiness of pistachio (perfectly sweet again). Prices were decent too compared to other ice cream/gelato places.I did wish the seating area was a little cleaner and more organized, however. The owner guy was friendly.Oh and no samples (bummer, but thankfully the flavors I chose were good).

My go to spot for gelato in the South Bay! So many dairy free options for those with sensitive tummies :) the quality of gelato is always on par and the service is always consistently warm and welcoming! Please do not skip out on dessert at this spot if you are walking around the plaza

Cute gelato shop in downtown Sunnyvale. It's a great place to stop in after dinner nearby.Great variety of flavors but no sampling allowed. Loved that they have a nice selection of tropical flavors like pink guava, lychee, passion fruit, etc....reminds me a lot of HI. Portions are pretty good and prices are reasonable, it's nice to be able to support a local store.The owner is proud of his Bella Roma cup display too. He spent a lot of time crafting it together, it's pretty neat!If you are ever in the Sunnyvale area, this is a great place to stop in for dessert.

My friend and I came here after dinner and they have a wide selection of flavors but the taste is so/so. I got half English toffee and half cookies and cream, and my friend got a milkshake. The gelato was quite heavy but tasty, and my friend's milkshake was terrible. Her milkshake was unfortunately so watery and it tasted like straight milk.
