Galvan's Market

Galven's is the best!!! Everybody is super nice, even to a plant-based eater like me who occasionally hosts meat eaters. I feel like I can ask anything and they are always thoughtful and service-oriented. They have helped me put together several charcuterie boards and I always bring my out-of-town guests to Galvan's to pick out whatever they want to grill. Also, when my husband stopped by to pick up some steaks for our dog's 5th birthday (silly, I know), the staff helped pick out the best, most gorgeous steaks for our girl's big day. :)

I really wish I could rate this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, I had a very poor experience here this past week. On Christmas Eve, I went in to get a nice cut of meat as a Christmas present for a family member. I do not eat and cook meat often, so I asked the butcher thinking he would help me pick something out. I also had my baby with me, and didn't double check what I was sold. Less than 24 hours later, my family opened up the roast I bought and it smelled bad like cheese. I was definitely sold an old cut of meat and I found out I was way overcharged for it. I believe the butcher took advantage of the fact that I did not know any better. I was naive and thought they'd have my best interest in mind instead of trying to pawn off an old cut while up charging. I always want to support local business, but unfortunately I will not be going back to Galvan's.

These are the most amazing sandwiches in the area. Everything is fresh and the employees are nice. It was a little warm inside and it feels a little crowded with very few customers but is nothing too bad. 10/10 food10/10 service 9/10 ambiance,

This place is fantastic. Super friendly guys in here and the steak and rub recommendation they gave me turned out SO good. Definitely grab your meat here instead of Safeway, trust me.

Never thought that I would like a butchery as much as I do this spot. This is a little slice of old-school bay Bay Area. You Must go to place for your brisket steaks or just needs a phenomenal sandwich.

One of those 'for what it is' reviews. This is a small scale grocer and butcher shop. So, lots of meat, impressive cheese assortment, and some select pastas, sauces, etc. sort of on the side, they'll make you a sandwich. No silly names like Ike's, and no crazy toppings assortment like Subway. It's a sandwich, generous on the meat, which you can watch them cut freshly. Going from four to five stars mostly on the strength of some chill but friendly staff guys.

The quality products and the expert, attentive a d friendly service are what have kept us coming back here for years.

Really professional and knowledgeable staff, quality meats & cheeses and other products I can't find anywhere else, and advice on how to prepare things perfectly, even in someone else's kitchen. The place is so clean and the staff is very friendly. It's worth going just for the good conversation and helpful tips.
