Walnut Bread ($6.75/half loaf) - levain dough with organic California walnuts. Really tasty.

Blackberry Almond Cake Slice ($5.75) - great! The cake is very moist and almond-y and sweet.
Inside of Seasonal Veggie Croissant ($4.50) - Lasoda potatoes, sumac, organic broccolini, goat cheese/pine nut filling, pumpkin seeds
Inside of Seasonal Fruit Croissant ($4.5) - Apricot, vanilla bean cream cheese filling & oat streusel with lemon verbena. Great!
Egg and Ham Croissant ($5.75) - rosemary ham, eggs & gremolata bread crumb. Quite heavy but good.
Inside of Fruit Scone ($4.25) - buttermilk scone with meyer lemon jam filling. Good, very moist. On the sweeter side. Jam is layered inside.
Basque Cake ($5.75/slice) - Vanilla bean cream, salted caramel, Valrhona chocolate in shortbread. Good! Very rich but not overly sweet.
Teff & Corn Grits with Sesame Seeds ($6.75 for half loaf of bread) - good!
Ham and Manchego Croissant ($4.75) - Fra' Mani rosemary ham & Manchego cheese

Love this cozy cute warm bakery. I bought 10 caneles and I'm so glad that I did! It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Paris Breast is another item that you must try. It looks sweet, but it's not. The cream is smooth and light. The crust is perfect contrast to the cream. The lemon shortbread is not what I used to have. We believe there's corn bread grains in it, and not much lemon flavor. Very unique.With all the sweet goodies, of course I had to buy some savory treats. I wish I bought more of the egg & ham, it's a meal by itself. Whole egg that was wrapped with a slice of ham, backed in a croiffin shell, it'll definitely give you enough energy to start the day. I wish I tried the bread but I already spent more than anyone in the line, so maybe next time.

I got a ham & cheese and also a chocolate croissant and now I want one of everything in the store. Also their cake display???? Like?????? I need a whole cake asap!!

Came in a little later on a Saturday .. maybe around ~1:30sh, the shop was almost sold out, so I just got a croissant and a buttercream cake. Overall, it's pretty goo. It's located in a nice neighborhood, except is hard to find parking but it's Berkeley!

This is a very late review, but I did want to write it because of the guava tart, which is not something I've seen at most other bakeries. I really liked the strongly sweet guava filling on the inside. The outside which is more of a crumbly pie crust with powdered sugar was good too, though less memorable than the guava itself. Worth a try when it's back on the menu if you're a guava lover.

I was very excited to try Fournée Bakery after receiving several recommendations, as well as the smells wafting through the door and the line down the sidewalk. With that being said, the pastries somewhat missed the mark. The chocolate almond croissant was fine - I've definitely had flakier, more flavorful croissants. The chocolate was good quality but not evenly distributed, and the almond-ness was a bit lacking. The gougère was pretty much what you'd expect and didn't taste very fresh. The star of the show was a half loaf of spelt and sesame bread. Wow! Crusty exterior, great chew, plenty of black sesame seeds, and real substance (it's a hearty loaf!). Maybe it was an off day for them, and perhaps my expectations were a bit lofty, but I do plan to return and try more breads and pastries.

This is usually my favorite bakery but as of lately quality has gone down hill. There's always lines here which is fine and usually worth it (pro tip: call a day ahead and place your order) but lately it hasn't been hitting the mark. Come here maybe 3 times now and Ive gotten burnt croissants, and burnt bread. See attached photos for reference. I'm usually happy to pay their steep prices and wait in the long lines and circle the block constantly searching for parking to get their delish pastries, but I don't think I can come back if their quality control is this poor. I'm not spending an arm and leg for burnt pastries.

Delicious! Best chocolate almond croissant I've had! The options were a bit limited when I was able to stop by (11am ish ) so I do recommend getting there as early as possible in order to have more options! Service was quick and easy.
