Fifth Wheel is the kind of place that feels like home every time you visit. This small, family-owned diner has been around for years, with the same family running it, great quick service.Their French toast is the best hands down. Breakfast here is always solid, from the perfectly crisp hashbrowns to their delicious gravy. One of the coolest things about Fifth Wheel is the variety. Along with classic American diner staples, they offer rice plates, which add a unique touch to the menu. It's a great spot to enjoy both comfort food and something a little different. If you're looking for a cozy, old-school diner experience with amazing food, Fifth Wheel is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

tldr; ordered food via phone. Got text confirmation to pick up order. Upon arrival, was told they have no order for me. Blank stare no apology. I leave hungryFrequented this business a few years back until I was served bacon with the ends white (un-rendered fat). Not a big deal but shows poor quality control/lack of attention to detail. About a year ago, my grandpa got me to try this place again since we always would go out for breakfast. After reluctantly trying 5th wheel again, I was pleased with the experience and put them back on my breakfast list. Today I place a phone order for pick up: French toast, eggs, and bacon. I gave them my phone number. I was told it would take ten mins. I receive a text 8 mins after the phone call saying "your order is now ready to be picked up." CoolI get to the restaurant, card in hand, and let them know my phone number. The lady says she doesn't see my order. I show her the text message confirmation. She reiterates that they don't have my to-go order and that they only had one. I just say OK and walk out, which she then finally asks if I want them to make it. I mean no shit. I wanted you to make it 10 mins ago. I just leftAccidents happen but she seemed indifferent to the situation as if it's not their responsibility to manage orders via phone. She didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Like I said, poor attention to detail at this establishment. They seem to just be trying to get byIf you're ordering via phone, order somewhere else

This was my second time here and the food was just as great as I remembered it being the first time around. The spicy pork has a good kick but isn't too spicy and has a great flavor along with the caramelized onions. The country fried steak and hash browns looked nicely crisped. The restaurant is an old school diner and is a little small. We waited for 20 minutes on a Saturday morning, but the waitresses are super sweet were always coming back to refill my coffee.

I don't live in the Bay Area so every time I'm visiting SF or Oakland, I make sure to visit this diner. It's so quaint and simple, with speedy customer service and fresh food. I first came here with friends and we loved the French toast so much. It just hits the spot. And ever since then, I make it a point to grab a meal before leaving the area. If you love the classic American breakfast items, then I highly recommend going here. You'll have a quality meal in a cozy and welcoming environment.

The food has always been good. The the ambience gives off a small diner vibe. But the service is not to good. One of the employees told me not to take pictures and I even told her it's for my yelp. But she still insisted on being rude. But it's ok . My food came out fast . I have French toast with a side of chicken, apple sauces, and scrambled eggs. Ill come back one day when they work on there customer communication skills .

Our order was quick, fresh, and you can tell they're popular by the bustling scene. Loads of to-go orders, too. Here's what I got:Two eggs scrambled with cheeseWheat toastSuper delicious hash brownsCountry fried steak All cooked to perfection. Fifth wheel, family run business for over 60 years never disappoints. They open very limited hours and focus more on breakfast crowd. Service always to the point and friendly. This place is clean with limited sitting. I am living in San Leandro, this is one of the few family run businesses left in this fine city.

BRO THIS PLACE WAS STRAIGHT UP FIRE!!!!!!!!! They love their butter but they love the craft for their food even more. The place is small so come early and expect a tiny wait but it's so homey and perfect. The staff was so kind and so welcoming. The food again is fire as heck. And this isn't a place to miss when you're visiting the Bay!

I'm honestly shocked everyone isn't always talking about this place!! A little hidden gem that my husband discovered. We haven't been able to stray away from one particular dish so I really can't say how everything is, but this one dish keeps bringing us back! It's a no-fuss, little diner with just a few tables and some bar seating. It's got a fairly small kitchen. While we've had to wait before, we went this morning (a Saturday!) and there was no wait at all. There's some street parking available, prices are affordable and the service is fairly quick. We always order the Korean BBQ pork with white rice and toast, two over-medium eggs, a tall glass of orange juice and coffee. The pork is flavorful, with jalapeños, on top of a pile of white rice with a bit of butter on top. It doesn't make sense how good it is! Go check this spot out!
