Some times it can seem like every taco truck is the same. You walk up and choose from a familiar list of components, and they execute your wish.Family Tacos is not this. The parts are the same, but somehow the end result is far greater than their sum. I can't explain how this works, but god damn they make a delicious burrito.Located in the parking lot of a rare Oakland strip mall, so easy parking. God I love this place!

MacArthur/Coolidge location. Finally stopped by to try some tacos at lunchtime. Lengua taco was hella good. That will probably be on my order every time I stop by. The fried pork was tasty but a bit too salty for me. Generous portions. Red salsa good not too spicy (for those accustomed to spicy foods). I like the cucumber on the side to cleanse the palate when done. Friendly service. Can't wait to return and try the other meats. Excited to see they had quesabirria on the menu. Next time!

This review is for the Family Taco truck on Coolidge and MacArthur. My third third trip here and man what a step up from the other taco truck down the street. At thirst I was a bit hesitant see the trailer on MacArthur cuz everyone know you gotta get below Foothill for the authentic stuff. Nope! Times have changed. First trip was tacos de lengua. Which was juicy, flavorful and succulent. Not too salty and just the right mix of pico and salsa. Tortillas were griddled on the flat top and I was in heaven. Second trip I'm feeling all badass cuz I grew up in this neighborhood and so proud to see some flavors coming in. BOOM. Super burrito blew my mind. This thing is way bigger than my forearm and filled with rice, refried, cheese, meat, avocado, creama, and then griddled to golden perfection. I thought I was hungry enough to finish this thing but no way. I've had many a super burrito but not one this daunting. This is a burrito built for two if not three. Good luck.

I like this place. They have saved me when I get off late sometimes and the food is decent. People are nice and prices are fair.

Second time here already! Loved their carnitas tacos, carne asada burrito, and carnitas torta. Great marinated meats, excellent condiments, fast, plenty of parking, liquor store next door, close to the house, and the friendliest lady taking the orders. Well worth it! So good I had to list their food "truck" here!

This review is for the taco truck on Coolidge and MacArthur in the Dimond district. Hot damn. I've been searching for the best burrito in Oakland for the past 3 years ever since I moved here from SF. I am a vegetarian burrito eater. This burrito from here cost $10 which is value in this era. It reminds me of taqueria Cancun in SF. First bite: avocado, crema, onion, tortilla is grilled. This is a good sign. The rest of the burrito did not disappoint either. Everything was spot on. Thanking the good lord my fiancé had to run and errand to Eden Framing (right next door) and I spotted this place, looked it up on Yelp, and had a good feeling about it. Highly recommend.

Better than most restaurants in this area. Tacos, burritos, and breakfast items are all really good. They just need to work on their Tortas (I've been doing Degrees Plato's tortas lately). The staff is super nice and accommodating.

My favorite new place! I've tried them about a month ago for the first time and i now eat there at least twice a week but sometimes more. I am a very picky eater and they hit the nail on the head with every dish I've tried so far. Also, i can tell it's a family business as the name suggests and they are super nice and generous! I think by far my favorite food truck in the

After our hike, we stopped by Family Tacos, and we were impressed by the huge portions. However, I ordered the steak tacos and found that the meat tasted more like ground beef. A side note: they don't automatically add salsa to the tacos, so remember to ask for it if you prefer salsa with your meal.
