El Super Mercado

In a town that has a plethora of Hispanic grocery stores, I find myself at this off-the-beaten-path one. I often feel the bigger names like Chavez Market and Arteagas are too big and popular for me. This one is very low key and serves the immediate neighborhood. It's about double the size of a 7-11 for reference but I can find most things I want/need for my Hispanic kitchen staples for a price that doesn't gouge me in these bumpy economic times.I like their clean and well stocked produce section, their spice and dried chili racks, chicharone galore and a cool meat section where you have to order from a legit butcher at prices much lower than any American grocery store. Whenever I'm gonna throwdown some enchiladas, posole, caldo de res or a backyard taco fest, I'm usually getting my start here. Trust.

Chavez in Redwood City ran out of chicharrones. I live in Discovery Bay, I wasn't going to double back and go to Chavez on 5th. So I remember that this place was in the way home. Let's just say I should double back and added 20 minutes to my commute for their chicharrones. I stopped at this place and got 20 dollars worth, which is nothing to me but for a market is huge. While on the road, the smell overcame and I had to try them. I was so disappointed, they were beyond salty. I have them here and I'm trying to figure out how to make them better. Next time you buy something lik6 chicharrones, Mexican cheese things that you could taste, taste it.Ill wake a week and revisit this place and see if it got better.

Great local market with fresh produce and good selection of products. Very clean. Very organized.

El Super Mercade is where Hayward Produce Market was. there's a long meat counter on the left side. the mexican eatery is at the left front corner. beers, beverages in the back. groceries in the center aisle.seen 2 cashier lanes in front. a taco food stand is in front of the store.big parking lot.drink: "El MEXICANO" aqua de coco (2.29) nautural 17.6 oz.-no sugar added, 100 calories with natural sugar sweetness.-pretty tasty stuff.

I'm trying to figure out why a lot of stuff is expired. It happened twice with juice and another thing but we just bought chicken and it was expired (slimey inside the chicken) that was the last straw! This place needs to be inspected by a health inspector!

I went with my little cousins and we couldnt decide what drinks to get. We walked around the aisles and returned some of the items and a man with an accent approached us and told us we were suspicious and accused us of stealing. He started instigating and we even emptied our pockets to show we didn't steal anything. We were being followed since stepping foot in the store and were profiled. We didnt do anything wrong and were harrassed and accused of stealing. He tried to fight my little cousins who are MINORS. We saw that he was trying to instigate and kept trying to fight while hiding what looked like a weapon behind a machine while trying to lure us back into the store. If you value your money and your safety and peace of mind, avoid this location at all costs. Do not go to this store and support other local shops that are nicer, reasonably priced and have a much better environment.

I'm so disappointed, whit the cashier service and also whit no bathroom for clients. Also they take away your points I usually go there every day for the grocery but, at this point I'm not going back, there's others places better The cashier are not friendly at all, all the time is the same, I which the owner knows about how there business are working. Today they get mad because my little daughter use their bathroom is not acceptable. We spent lot of money on food so we don't want to be treated like this please don't go there.

It's impossible to get someone to answer the phone, I called over and over again just for not a single person to answer I'm not sure if that's because the number is a non working number but with no website for the store and no one to answer the phone how am I supposed to ask and double check if the item I need is even in stock, very unfortunate that the phone system or whoever is in charge of answering the phone is not doing what's supposed to be done.

Love to go here they have the best customer service and the new ice cream shop is pretty good
