Friends of ours have brunch here regularly and I can see why! It is easy to miss and very unassuming but it felt like we were at a Tia or Abuelitas. In fact, their hand made tortillas are exactly as my grandma used to make (thick, white corn). I ordered the menudo with pata and it was spectacular- not too greasy and lots of meat. It's a 32 ounce bowl with a side of handmade tortillas. Husband had their wet burrito and my kid had their rice, beans, and chicken taco. I really want to come back to try their birria. I saw someone else eating it and it looked delicious. They have an enclosed outdoor patio with seating for large groups and a tv playing Sunday football, Mexican music playing, and outdoor heaters running. The service is like family having you over and they were very attentive. I can't wait to come back!

This place is barely 2 minutes from my house and I absolutely love Mexican food. However in the 9 years I've been here I have visited this restaurant 3 times despite frequenting other places that are much farther. Twice before I went here when it was very late and most other places had closed up. The food was bland and dry each time and I avoided going here for a long time. Recentlt I was in a rush and out of sheer preference for convenience went here and ordered what's a breakfast staple in almost every Mexican restaurant - huevos rancheros. It took them damn near 40 minutes to prepare. And this isn't one of those fancy, always crowded places either. There were barely 3 other tables occupied. The food as usual tasted dreadful, but the service taking so long really prompted me to finally write this review and hopefully warn others thinking of going here. With the abundance of good Mexican food elsewhere in San Jose, there should be no reason to patronize such lazy businesses.

The shrimp cocktail is probably the most amazing shrimp dish I've ever had. The first time I had it I talked about it for week! Lol. Not exaggerating at all! It's that good. The only downside is the music is wicked loud. I prefer to get my food to go because it's not relaxing. I enjoy the music it'd just too LOUD to bother to stay, especially if you're with friends. You cannot visit. It feels rude to ask them to turn it down. I was there alone today so getting it to go was fine but not what I had hoped to do. It didn't feel like eating in my car.

I really love Al Pastor burritos and try them wherever I can. I tried the Al Pastor Super Burrito here and it was absolutely delicious. The pineapple was fresh and sweet, which really accented the pork beautifully. The burrito was slightly crisped on the outside as well which was a nice touch. The people here are super nice as well. I will definitely come back and try the rest of the menu.

I had lunch here with a friend. I ordered a Torta de Asada and a Champurrado. The Champurrado is basically a nice, warm, thick chocolate beverage. It is perfect for a rainy day. This was my first time having this drink, and I like it a lot. It costs $4 and it may have been a limited time item. The torta was $13, which is consistent with other stores in Northern and Southern California. It was pretty sizable and tasted like a good burger. It wasn't the best torta I've ever had but I still enjoyed it.

I do not recommend the Al pastor burritos. First of all the Al pastor is not that good it's mushy and not that flavorful. Second of all the burrito did not have that much meat I think there was like 6 chunks of meat in the whole burrito. Each bite was just rice and beans. But at least the rice and beans tasted good so I'll give you an extra star.
