El Causa food truck serves Peruvian eats. it's parked in a gated commercial area that was The Hayward Ranch. no parking available in lot. bench seating in corner area. other food and drink vendors present. offerings: ceviche, sandwiches, rice/chicken/potato/fish based dishes. limited menu of 4 items offered daily until sold out. varies daily.*limited menu on truck has no pricing, online has pricing and entire menu.eats: papa rellena (9.50) -comes with an orange sauce that's very spicy and some red onions garnish-looks similar to a german potato dish i had before. forgot name-slightly fried or baked brown exterior with mostly potato. in the center are small dark proteins tasting of beef, olives bits, boiled egg frags & aji amarillo sauce. 3.5 tasty- ok comfort food...takes outs:-ceviche, papa rellena, chicken with rice, chicken sandwich only options the day i went (3/17)-doubtful repeat: limited choices, parking questionable...

East Bay, you're missing out if you haven't tried the food being served here! Outside of their delicious menu, their customer service is on point and so refreshing given today's service industry climate. My wife and I visited their place today and were super impressed with their Peruvian style ceviche and their arroz con pollo. WOW! Their food is made to order and you can definitely taste it in the flavor as you salivate awaiting the first bite. The ceviche has a nice blend of sour, crunch, and sweetness with the sweet potato mixed in with it. It was so good we even "drank" the remaining juice at the end. LOLAs for the arroz con pollo, it's well balanced with the spices used and gives a pleasant texture to your palette. We'll definitely be returning to try other items on their menu.I highly recommend them so get up and go enjoy their yummy-licous food before they're gone! One last thing, in reading other reviews and their "short" menu, we think it's perfect! Less is more and what they have to offer is nothing short of satisfying!

I went to their soft opening a few months ago when they by the Castro Valley Bart station but they didn't have the full menu. I had the ceviche and it was delicious. I came a few weeks ago and had the arroz con pollo...I was disappointed. The chicken did not taste like it was marinated in the same green sauce used to make the rice. And the picture they advertised was way different from what I was served. Plus I'm used to it being served with papa la huancaina and salsa criolla (red onions marinated in lime juice with aji amarillo).I also ordered the ceviche and it did not disappoint. Although I have had it in Redwood City with bigger pieces of sweet potato and regular potato. And a bigger portion. (Redwood City would be my preference, but this place is a good runner up.I ordered papa rellena and it good but the sauce (I'll have to ask my mother in law what it's called) is delicious!!! It really kicks it up a notch.**It's important to note their menu changes daily. And before you order online you need to check out their IG or FB page to see what is actually being served.

I'm originally from Peru and I can say that this was one of the best ceviches I had ever had. I was blown away by how good it tasted. It was made to order and fresh. The service was also great. They were friendly and even brought the food to my car so I didn't have to wait outside in the rain. Highly recommend this place for their ceviche. I also had the maracuyá "fruit passion drink" and it was nice and refreshing.

I would give this place 100 stars if I could ! The Peruvian food here is amazing! My mom cooks pretty good Peruvian food, but this place is honestly a lot better , plus you won't find an affordable place to buy Peruvian food that tastes this good tbh.

Delicious Peruvian food. We had the ceviche, yuca fries, lomo saltado and the fried chicken. It was all so tasty and fresh. The owners are so nice too! We will return each week for a delicious meal! Thank you El Causa!
