I surprised with the mixed reviews of Dumpling Time located in the City Center. We came here two times during their happy hour, and both times we had a positive experience. We ordered the BBQ Pork Baos, Siu Mai, Har Gaw, Wood Ear Mushroom Salad, Shrimp Toast, and Tom Yum. The Wood Ear Mushroom salad is good for 2 to share and was a good "different"salad with the vinaigrette dressing. The Baos where freshly made and pillow soft with delicious BBQ pork filling. The Shrimp Toast was served warm with the shrimp spread topping, the spicy mayo sure complements it. The Sui Mai, Har Gaw and Tom Yum were high quality and savory. Place is very clean and spacious, service was great (Special Shout out to Kian, who served us both times. Lots of parking. Check this place out if ever in San Ramon and crave for dimsum! For cost savings, come during their happy hour between 3-530pm M-F.

We ordered a decent amount of food because there was so much we wanted to try! We tried the Har Gow, Siu Mai, Pork Gyoza, Beijing Noodles, XLB, Chili Pork Dumplings and more. Nothing was bad. It just wasn't anything special. Service was a little slow-- a lot of having to ask for water, ask for the check, etc. but it's in a great area and lots of great places to check out in the shopping center. The restaurant is decently sized with plenty of tables and has a very modern Cal-Asian feel. During busy times, it can get busy, but I believe they take reservations!

I was having a dim sum craving, so I finally stopped by Dumpling Time. I've always seen this place empty, but they had a fairly busy happy hour the night I came in. Their happy hour seems to be a good deal and a great post-work option. I ordered the cucumber salad and shumai to go. Prices were a bit steep and their menu is slightly limited with different varieties of the same dumpling type. Overall, the taste was good and the portion, especially of the cucumber salad, felt large.

This is my first time trying Dumpling time. I've heard about it.Parking is a little challenging. The mall is pretty busy. The place just opened. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered some sui mai, har gow, pork bows, and some fried rice. I thought the sui mai quality of the meat was very fatty and there was not much flavor. It just tasted like a fatty meat ball. I did not like it. The har gow and pork bun was ok. Mediocre, there wasn't much to them. The fried rice, that I liked. That had a great flavor, and the rice had a good texture. It was very tasty.Would I come again? Maybe. Probably only if there wasn't a better choice to go to.

Went here with a couple friends on a Saturday night. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but the restaurant was not crowded and we got seated right away. When we left at 9:00 though, they were full. I loved that the place was well lit. The staff was very friendly and they were also attentive - they kept bringing us more water and checked back a few times after our food was delivered to see if we needed anything. The seaweed salad was very good - I liked the sesame dressing. The spring rolls were delicious - fried just right. The BBQ dumplings were also very good, but the pork were only OK. We ordered fried rice, which I don't think we needed, and we got a dessert - I forget what it was called, but its the balls with sesame seeds. Those were delicious, but larger than the ones you usually get.

Came here on a Friday for lunch around 11:30 and the place was empty. So we were seated right away. I didn't have high expectations since the reviews weren't too good. We ordered different things to try and to my surprise, most of them were not bad. The food came quickly . The Woodear salad was a bit bland. I think it lacked some salt. The garlic green beans were tasty. The vegan fried rice was the best to my surprise.Lamb dumplings had a strong lamb taste. Order it if you like lambTom Yum XLB has a subtle Tom yum taste. Not too overwhelming. The minus one star was due to the price. For the portion size, the price was a tad high. The other one star minus was due to the 4% living wage. It's not a lot but then I would choose to go somewhere without this mandatory living wage and give a higher tip on my own will!

I recently visited Dumpling Time in San Ramon, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! This place truly lives up to its name, serving up an array of dumplings that are both innovative and delicious.First off, the ambiance is vibrant and welcoming, with modern decor that creates a lively dining atmosphere. It's a great spot for both casual lunches and dinners. The service was prompt and friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I was surprised that it wasn't busy around 530pm on a Saturday because in SF, it's nearly impossible to get a table without reservations. There are tables inside and outside, so take your pick! Now onto the main event - the food! Everything that we ordered was amazing and was perfect for 4 people:-Wakame Seaweed Salad-Shrimp Toast (must have)-DT Wings-Maine Lobster Siu Mai-Har Gow-XLB-Chili Pork Dumpling-Lamb Dumplings (must have)-Shrimp Garlic Noodles-Vegan Fried Rice with Chicken and Egg-Shrimp Truffle Egg Roll with Wasabi MayoOverall, Dumpling Time offers a fantastic culinary experience with a wide variety of choices that will satisfy both dumpling lovers and those new to this type of cuisine. I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their offerings. If you find yourself in San Ramon, do not miss the chance to stop by Dumpling Time!

It's ok. Food is mediocre.Service is friendly.Environment is clean, bright and roomy, with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.XLB aka Soup Dumplings are good here. I always suggest the basic, original pork XLB. The classic ones are always the best. But everything else is mediocre. They're good; not great, and definitely not bad. It's just that with so many dumpling places now in the Tri-Valley area, this one just isn't making the cut for me, especially given the higher prices. Also, they tag on an extra 4% "surcharge" aka junk fees on the bill... and yes, it's on the fine print. I checked afterwards. Overall an all around OK.
