When I went to place an order for pickup, I didn't realize they were a cloud kitchen. They don't take orders online or over the phone. You have to go in-person to order. That can pose a bit of an inconvenience. I got the masala dosae. It's not the paper thin crispy dosa that I was expecting, and instead it's almost like a pancake batter with a spongy texture. The red chutney and potato filling were excellent, at just the right heat level for me. The coconut chutney brought a refreshing balance to the rich dosa, which was a bit on the greasy side. You also get a tangy spice infused oil as condiment. Both complement the dosa perfectly. The order comes with a small side of sambar, a lentil tamarind based soup. The only vegetable I saw in it was stewed onions, but I nonetheless enjoyed it. Love that they use compostable to-go containers!I will definitely be back many times. You get a filling amount of flavorful aromatic food for the price.

Dosae is one of the vendors hosted at East Bay Eats, an innovative concept restaurant with multiple sellers cooking out of one kitchen. The Masala Dosa came packaged in wax paper with comic strips and a crossword puzzle printed on it to keep you entertained while enjoying the delicious food! The pancake-like dosa was both thick and crispy and was smeared with a spicy red chutney on the inside and a pad of butter on the outside. The masala filling was a mixture of potatoes mixed with onions, dal, mustard seeds, and other spices. On the side came a hot, sour, spicy sambar (lentil vegetable soup), Indian pickle, and my favorite condiment, coconut chutney, which added a cooling, earthy touch to the masala dosa!

F O O D+ Sagu masala dosae: A fermented savory rice and lentil crepe that comes with coconut chutney, sagu (like vegetable korma), and pickles. The portions of sides were generous, and I felt like I should have ordered another dosae to finish them.*Be aware that Bangalore/Bengaluru style doesn't have masala potatoes or sambar. It came out a little soggy maybe from being packed in a closed box?S E R V I C E+ Order at the kiosk at the counter for dine in or takeout+ Food came out pretty quicklyA M B I A N C E+ Casual and minimal dining space in a cloud kitchen+ Ample parking in the lot outsideT L ; D RBangalore/Bengaluru style dosae in a cloud kitchen. Overall, I enjoyed the sagu masala dosae and all the sides; however, I wish they had an option for a thicker and crispier Benne dosae like Darshini in Milpitas.

We ordered the chocolate dosae and were just mildly impressed. The dosae texture was very gritty and for a sweet dessert, it was a little too savory, with a butter and salt flavor to the dosa. The chocolate inside was good, but it sort of was overtaken and overpowered by the dosae itself. Maybe we will try one of the savory dosas in the future, but our experience here was just okay.

Dosae in Hayward, East Bay, is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian food. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dosas and other South Indian dishes that are both flavorful and satisfying. With its welcoming ambiance, attentive service, and reasonable prices, Dosae provides a delightful dining experience that keeps customers coming back for more. The dosas at Dosae are authentic Bangalore style. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The accompanying coconut chutney and sambar are fresh and flavorful, complementing the dosas well. We absolutely loved the masala dosae which is definitely a must try here. The set dosae and sagu masala dosae were delicious. We also tried their rava idlis which were soft and fluffy and the madduru vadas were crispy and savory. For beverages we went for filter coffee and mango Lassi. Overall we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend them.

Food:We ordered Sagu masala dosae 2/5 and set dosae, 2/5 maddur vada 4/5 and mango lassi 4.5/5.Sadly, the USP items missed the mark. The dosa batter seems very gritty. Texture was bad. There was no salt in anything we ate. Dosa, saagu or the chutney. No spice either which was still ok if it was seasoned well. The only good part was the sagu had visible veg in it. Maddur Vada was good. Crisp and had that sweetness from the onion. Mango lassi was actually pretty good with the nuts added. Service is fast. Space to sit is nice but a tight space. No space to push our stroller in there . Note that this is a cloud kitchen and is self service. Order at the kiosk, you get a text when it's ready. There are cubbies and you get a prompt to open it on the phone. They really need to up their taste and texture game for me to consider going back.

The best Karnataka dosa has great packaging and quality. One thing I missed about coming from Bangalore was the crispy masala dosa. The texture was like Bangalore dosa; it was perfectly crispy and of amazing quality. Please maintain the quality, even if you have to increase the price. It is always good to support nice, quality places. We ordered dosas from other Indian restaurants claiming to be like Bangalore dosas, but the quality is not great and the quality is cheap. Not very salty or spicy, the quality is the most important part. Packing is so good, I give it 5 stars just for packing and neatness.
