I am going to have to say that I was a bit disappointed. The service was great and the guy at the counter was friendly and nice but the actual Yemen Tea and Baklava didn't have any flavor. This is after I added the sugar. It was a Sunday so things were kind of quiet. That was more reason I thought it would be relaxing to sit, sip, and socialize with my friend that had never had Yemen Tea. But back to the dry Baklava with no flavor, I figured out what was missing... the rose syrup or water that I am used to tasting. This one tasted of dry dirt. Yikes, I am not trying to be rude or mean but that is the best way I can describe the flavor profile. I would try another location and possibly get something else and not my usual. I am sure it was just an off day. When you go, please raise a cuppa up for meh....peace.

As a coffee enthusiast, I'm always looking for new coffee recommendations to try. I ordered the ice rose latte, and my partner ordered their iced pistachio latte. The total came out to 19$ just by changing the choice of milk, which made me expect the price would be worth the drinks. I was severely underwhelmed by the rose latte. The rose flavor was definitely not defined enough in my drink and had a watery consistency. On the other hand, the pistachio latte my partner got was definitely better. If anyone chooses the same drink & wants to actually taste the flavor of rose in their latte, perhaps consider asking for more of their syrup.

I saw this place ok TikTok do decide to give it a try. I came first thing in the morning at 8am on a Saturday. We were the only people in there. They showed two sizes 12 oz and 16oz. We ordered 3 coffees. They were out of the 12oz cups do I was forced to only order the 12oz. It ended up being $25 I thought that was very expensive for coffee. The guy at the counter had great customer service and took his time doing the coffee. The place is really nice and there's a ton of seating. The coffee came out and i personally like my coffee very hot and it was. My husband did not like his very hot so definitely based on preference. My rose coffee was pretty good. I loved the rose petals. Overall it was good but too expensive in my opinion.

I am so glad I tried this place. I saw a video about it on TikTok and was desperate to go. On top of being a cafe, it also has kittens.I ordered an iced latte, which came in a beautiful glass cup (see picture). The barista informed me there were three kittens roaming around the cafe. My friend and I sat down with our coffees, and the barista immediately brought us one of the kittens. The kitten was so well behaved and socialized! It sat with us for at least a half hour and kept us company. The other two kittens were running around playing with other customers and sleeping on peoples' backpacks. It was the best day of my life. This cafe is on the north side of the UC Berkeley campus. There is plenty of seating inside, and I saw many people studying while enjoying their drinks and snacks. There is street parking available nearby. This was a great experience and I will definitely be back soon!

Delah Coffee House opened where Brewed Awakening was. Cavernous space totally renovated with Yemenese decor. Soft music in background. Not busy. Single barista eventually came out from the rear. Seeing my indecision, he suggested Chai. Totally forgot it was available. Order one. Ready in minutes.Offerings: espressos, teas, lattes, refreshers. Smoothies, Lattes, pastries.Sips: Adeni Chai (L. 5.15)-Yemeni Black tea with less cream & delah spices. Skipped sugar.-full bodied tea with hints of cardamon. Loving this more than Indian version. Cuz strong tea, less sugar?Bites: lots of pastries available. Skipped as heat/hot weather kills my appetite...4.5 stars great service, fab decor/ambience..-street parking available on weekend. Located back end of UC Berkeley. Used to study in nearby buildings on campus...so i know the area.

It's a big place with about 30+ spots inside, but typically always filled with students, even as late as 10 pm. I've gotten the Adeni Chai and Delah Mofawar. The Adeni Chai didn't seem like it was sweetened at all, which wasn't what I was expecting at all since chai is usually on the sweeter side. It was actually pretty bitter to the point where none of the spices or flavors could be tasted so I added some syrup when I got home which helped tremendously. The Delah Mofawar was better, but I wasn't too sure how it differed from the other Delah coffee options (the descriptions all said cream, cardamom, spices and maybe ginger. Now, the part that really caught my eye was the pricing. The coffee posted on the menu was under $6 (like $5.50-5.75) when I got it. However, after all the taxes and fees and whatnot like a third party delivery app, it ended up being around $6.50. I don't mind that price if it was stated on the menu and I was expecting it, but with the convenience fee, the to-go cup fee, and the taxes, the drink was almost an entire dollar more than what was posted. I didn't make any customizations to the drinks so all the extra charges weren't for the actual product.Parking is street parking and may be difficult if school is in session as many students park on the side streets as well.Overall, it just felt like they were trying to add fees here and there to make a few more cents which just discourages me from returning as other coffee shops are more upfront about the pricing.

Definitely an aesthetically pleasing coffee shop. Located close to campus so expect lots of students, but there is plenty of seating. I ended up ordering an yemeni coffee and a beef sabyah. You can have it with different levels of sweetness or non-dairy milk (for an extra cost). I had the coffee as is, and it was definitely a different experience. For reference, I usually just get a regular milk latte at any coffee place I go to. So having some spices in the coffee was different but a pleasant surprise. The beef sabyah was delicious, good flakiness of the pastry, and plenty of beef. I was just disappointed at the size that I got for the price.Overall, definitely a welcome experience to trying new coffee and pastries, but it was pricier than I normally would spend, especially for how much you get.

* Adeni Chai. Nice, heavy on the cardamom but I love it when food makes a statement. It wasn't sweet enough for my taste so a bit of sugar and it was perfect.+ Bee bite. Lovely. Not the best thing I've ever eaten but I LOVE the uniqueness of it and it's courage to be what it is. NOT overly sweet like most desserts, the bread is super yeasty in the best way, and the cream cheese is light and more German-cheesecake-y than it is "Philly cream cheese from Safeway." They drip honey over the top but don't soak it. It's a unique and beautiful looking dessert. While I didn't love it, I still recommend trying it, especially if you think most American desserts are too sweet.TIP: It is much larger than I expected from the photos. I thought it would be a tiny 3" dessert and it was more like 6-8" (note: I'm bad at estimating distances).+++ Interior. Just like the Bee Bite, lovely and unique. Very very open space, very uniquely appointed. Feels a bit like you've stepped into a different ... country? The scent of incense lingers in the air -- not overly heavy at all. Just a hint. It's nice.Seats at the window are fire -- love being inside but also connected to the world outside.- One minor nit: much of the lighting has a colder spectrum (like daylight lightbulbs rather than soft white). I think the overall vibe might be even more amazing with softer light (not dimmer -- just warmer light.) (This from the color blind guy :-D) TIP: It's a slow Sunday and there are maybe 4-5 free seats. On a weekday, this place could be packed and you may not find a seat.++ Music. Doesn't play your standard fare but fits with the interior. I Shazam'd a ton of music here and every time I listen to it, it puts me right back in Delah.+ Beautiful plateware and cups. See photos. It matches the interior -- really unique, with lots of metallic accents.- I didn't see any silverware offered. There are individually wrapped forks but that seemed out of place with the pretty interior and fancy cups/plateware.-- Plugs along the window seating don't work. None of them. That's frustrating because I come to these places not just to enjoy but to work.EDIT: Employee actually explained what happened -- the window outlets are somehow connected to the city power OUTSIDE so they only activate when the street lights come on at 7:30 pm.TIP: Power outlets nearer to the street (window seating and even the first outlets on the wall only start working around 7:30 pm)- It can be hard to get their attention behind the counter...* ... but when you do, they're pleasant. Asked for more honey for the Bee Bite and he handed me a small condiment container of honey. (Made it even that more tasty for me!)++ By the end of my stay, the guy behind the counter was addressing me by name and wished me a nice day.TIP: Although it looks like you can walk up to order, you can also order from the kiosk behind you and when they are busy, they tend to motion for you to order via the kiosk. No knock on them -- I find ordering from a kiosk to be less pressure sometimes.Even a few weeks later, I think back to my experience there at Delah. That's a well-crafted experience.

Fantastic coffee & ambiance. The location is spacious with lots of comfortable seating, outlets, and beautiful decor. The music was a bit loud which was unideal for studying or taking calls, but it's a great place to relax and chat with friends. The Yemeni Latte was unbelievably flavorful and had strong notes of cardamom and ginger. This was one of the best lattes I've had in Berkeley! The drinks are on the pricier side, but I will definitely be back.
