This spot is the perfect venue! I attended my friend's baby shower and we were shocked this existed out here on the border of Alameda and Oakland. Upon driving there we were worried how parking would be given all the incidents recently in Oakland, but were pleasantly surprised that's its in a nice parking lot that's a bit secluded. The venue is perfect for a event of ~100 persons. My friend was able to bring her own food and the wine were provided. Perfect baby shower venue TBH! We got to try their sparkling wine, their Grenache, and the cab. I ended up sticking to the cab the entire day. We love how the garage door opens up to the outdoor, so both indoor/outdoor seating were available. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming. I loved how they provided a little tasting during the event as well. At the end we helped clean up the venue and the staff also helped as well. This seemed like a super chill and fun ambiance to host any event, while also letting the guests enjoy a bit of wine from the bay. I may have to book this spot for my future events!

Wow, where do I begin? Sadly my Dad passed away on the 27th of Nov. to know my dad was to know a man that loved a good time, enjoyed a good bottle of wine and was a laid back dude that was glad to have grown up and grown old in Oakland, and he did so gracefully! Hosting his Celebration of Life @Côte West was absolutely the best decision we made. The venue, the staff, the owner all were great! Event planner Carissa was so accommodating, they had not had an event of this type ever. But you would have thought this was something they did on a regular basis. I hope to come back one day and host a party of some type (I live in Atlanta). I'd like to add the wine is great! Thanks for everything Carissa and all that are apart of Côte West Urban Winery

The cutest friggin' tasting room with some delicious wine to boot! Cote West is the perfect place to relax while sipping on some delightful wines. Maaaan!!! Ya girl has been missing out BIG time. It took me waaay too long to get here, but I finally made it. And, what a gem this place is! I do most of my wine tasting in wine country these days. While I enjoy wine country, I've realized that it has made me neglect all of the wonderful local tasting rooms that I have right here at home. Plus, I'm getting older now and the long drives are getting harder for me to make (and more expensive with these ridiculous gas prices). My goal going forward is to start visiting more local tasting rooms and wineries. Visiting Cote West was the perfect way to start this new journey for me. Came here with a friend last year for a tasting after having brunch and we had an absolute blast! Cote West is located in a small warehouse district in the East Oakland area. It's very unassuming, but you'll notice their adorable front patio area as soon as you pull into the parking lot. They really have it set up so nicely! They've got large barrels to taste on with high chairs and large umbrellas to keep you shaded during those warm and sunny days. Their indoor tasting room is cozy but modern and chic with bright and colorful décor. They even have a large barrel room in the back where they host both private events and public parties! It's really a beautiful space. Jill and Pablo were our hosts and they were super friendly and inviting! We both decided to do a tasting but you can also purchase wine by the glass and light bites here as well. A tasting is $20 for 5 wine pours from their current tasting menu (tasting fee is only waived for members). The pours are very generous and they have a pretty diverse wine list. Also to note; they are the only tasting room in the city that produces their own wine on site! So, not only is their barrel room used for events, but it's actually 100% functional. Walk-ins are welcome but you can also make reservations (especially during their busier seasons). As I mentioned before, they have a very diverse wine list that features some very unique and less common wines. In fact, this was the first time that I ever tried Pet Nat (Petillant Naturel) and Orange Wine. Pet Nat is a sparkling wine that has allowed to ferment and finish in the bottle. I'd honestly have to say that this was my absolute favorite wine to taste here. It was so light, tropical, and effervescent. The perfect sipping wine for a warm day. Also really enjoyed their super floral and earthy Pinot Noir. It was definitely a Pinot by total definition and it had all of the wonderful elements that I love in a Pinot. Wasn't the hugest fan of the orange wine, but it was fun to try it for the first time. Jill did an excellent job of explaining the history of the tasting room and the wines. We also enjoyed hearing about the wines from Pablo, but we did feel a bit rushed by his during our tasting. To be fair, we did come about and hour before closing, and he didn't rush us after we paid and lingered for a little while afterward. For the most part, their wines are decently priced but I did feel that their red wines were a bit high. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed most of them and we had a great experience here. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking to wine taste locally.

This is the perfect hideaway from the chaos of the weekend in Oakland! It was literally the best winery handling Covid 19, made my 90min reservation for outdoor seating. Now for the wines, I can never enjoy over the counter wine after coming here. It is a blessing and a curse...I'm gonna only have to drink Côte West wine for the rest of my life. Extraordinary French like wine, and lovely customer service! Cheers!!

With a guest from Salt Lake City (which has much to offer but falls way short in the wine tasting category (understatement!)) in tow, we ventured over to the "Oaklandish" Embarcadero. Located in a semi or once-industrial area near the estuary, Côte West offered a peaceful respite from the bustle of the Embarcadero and the roar of 880. Once seated comfortably at the barrel tables, Bret began the tasting with a Pétillant Naturel, a sparkling wine with a natural and effortless effervescence that belied the labor-intensive method that Bret described to us. There followed a Rosé of Zinfandel, which delivered a lively acidity, as promised. Next up, a Chardonnay. For those who (like me) have turned their backs on Chards after the heavy oaky run of Chardonnays of some years ago, I can testify that this was not that! Prepare to be amazed at how accessible this Chardonnay is, with no heavy undertones glowering in the background. Continuing along the spectrum, we sampled a 2019 Dry Creek Grenache which delivered, oddly enough, on the promise of "candy fruit roll-up aromatics." Who knew? A bottle of that is going back to Salt Lake City, which might be a first for the winery. Last up was a Pinot Noir and I do believe we all tasted the note of sarsaparilla in this well-structured Pinot. The pacing was perfect, with Bret waiting until we had completed each tasting and enjoyed exchanging notes back and forth on the merits of each wine. In sum, we had a thoroughly enjoyable outing of a lovely Sunday afternoon. We'll have to return to check out the Skin-Fermented Sauvignon Blanc. Or perhaps the Rosé of Counoise or maybe ....

From the time I walked in I fell in love with this place. From the customer service and the friendly faces. The knowledge of the wine and production. You have to see the back area where they make the wine. It's very cozy a hidden gym. If you have been to Cate west yet. You have to go , it's plenty of parking and friendly faces and u can't beat the price. The Rosé was my favorite

This place was awesome!! Found it thanks to yelp even though I volunteer at the school in the sameparking lot--shocked that this gem was here since November and I had no idea! The staff is so nice--Bret, the winemaker, took us on a tour of the facility, including taking a peek at fermenting grapes, which is something I've never experienced at a winery! Every wine offering was delicious...three roses, and great white options (typically I'm a red drinker). You should go!!!

I. And here on a Saturday and really enjoyed the wine tasting. The team that works there is small but very chill and inviting. The owner happen to be there and gave us a tour of their process in the building. Quite the extensive setup and always so fun to learn more about the wines I love! This is a little gem in the East Bay.
