Chong Qing Noodles House1635 Park St Alameda, CA 94501(510) 744-6973Nov. 30, 2024.What better way to enjoy Park Street on a Thanksgiving Saturday weekend. Parking spot 10 feet from Chong Qing.I have been wanting to try this place out but on a normal weekday or weekend, good luck on parking. Have come pretty close many times to UBER service to Chong Qing.Everything about this place from the outside I love. The patio/outdoor seatings are nice. Will have to come back here during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoors. Fried crispy pork (not pictured) but it delicious, love the crispiness of it. AND the vinegarish dipping sauce was the bomb. I love spicy sauces; I added extra kick of the chili oil. Egg roll (not pictured). Vegetable egg roll. It was ok, typical vegetable egg rolls. Next time I will order the scallion pancake and try the tofu with century egg. The owner gave us sample pieces of the wood ear mushroom and the sixi kaofu gluten salad. Thank you.Zha jiang noodle. Love it. Love it very much that it does not have onions. First time I ordered this at another place it had so much onion-I did not finish it. Simplicity at times works best when it comes to dishes. Next time I will try the cold version. Braised pork noodle soup. Half beef and half tendon. Beef and tendon braised so tender. The broth was flavorful. Taiwanese pork rice bowl. This rice bowl was delicious. Highly recommend. Must order the thick noodles with the soups. So fresh and chewy. Overall, it was a great 1st visit. Highly recommend Chong Qing Noodles House. Thank you for the awesome great food and service.

This place was a little disappointing for the high reviews it has. First, we stood at the door waiting to be seated a while, while the worker was preparing something a couple of feet away behind the counter. Even when she acknowledged our presence it wasn't too welcoming. We ordered: Beef noodle soup: flavor was good, meat was tender, noodle were a tad over cooked. Ja jiang noodle: flavor was good, noodle was a fail, it was all clumped together and overcooked. It was gummy with no bounce or chew. Dumpling: decent but a little pricey for boiled dumpling - $16.99. Vibes were not great. Bathroom is outside around the back of the restaurant. Overall, flavor of the food is good, disappointed that a noodle house does not have good noodles.

I feel conflicted about this place! I visited on a Wednesday evening about 5:30PM. I found street parking a block over, with the usual post work traffic. There were no other customers when my friend and I were there and the owner was very kind, but a bit overwhelmingly kind. The type of kind where you decided on one item, and the owner talks to you until you choose the item they want you to order. I think she means well, but It was a bit overwhelming. So, my friend and I ended up getting the same thing, as this was highly recommended. Highly recommended by the lady. [Chili oil noodles with ground meat 3/5] $18The noodles were clearly not fresh, as it came stuck together. As if they had cooked it early in the day and let it sit in the bowl for a while(Usually, when you cook rice noodles, if you let it sit for too long, it sticks together). No matter how much I tried to mix the noodles with the overabundance of chili oil(which later cause an upset stomach for my friend), it still clumped. I didnt care for the oversalty meat, and ended up wishing Ihad ordered what I originally set out to order. The food came quickly though. The lady came to check on us a few more times and recommended more food. Though, neither of us were quite interested. My friend kindly told her, "next time!". Will probably skip this spot and go to my favorite noodle spot down the street instead, but it is always good to try new places. Also, my friend did get sick for the next 3 days. Maybe from the food. The food felt super oily and not all that fresh.

I feel bad giving this place a low star rating and hope it was just a fluke. Came here with a friend on a Wednesday night - it was empty so being seated and served right away was not an issue. The owner/chef was there and right away assisted with helping us decide what to order...a little too well considering we were told what to order by her. Food came out very quickly and we both got the Zha-jiang noodles spicy (dry).Overall presentation was good it looked delicious and a good portion size. The meat had flavor and was very soft.Downsides - The noodles were all clumped togetherEverything was extremely extremely oilyLater that night experienced massive stomach cramps that landed me in the bathroom in the middle of the night and through out the day. Since I did not read other recent reviews like this I am thinking its a fluke, but once is enough for me and I will not be returning.

I made a reservation by phone here for a Sunday night around 7pm. It was not needed as they weren't busy - 2 other tables ate there while we were there (there are about 10-12 tables total). They also were not set up for us despite my calling in. The owner is very extroverted and will make recommendations, especially for what works for children. I'm sure the chicken wonton noodle soup she recommended would've been great, but I got the Zha-jiang Noodle because it's an established dish my kids like.* Zha-jiang noodle ($16.99) - 4 stars. Nice thick hand cut noodles. Good thick meat sauce. * Taiwan Beef Noodles ($17.99) - 4 stars. Very tasty, great tender meat, a bit spicy! Don't let it go down the wrong pipe or it will sting. * Taiwanese Pork Rice Bowl ($17.99) - 3 stars. Fine, recommended as a 3rd dish by the owner.

The name is a little misleading! We walked in expecting it to be a Chong Qing noodle place (area of China with spicy noodles) and the menu turned out to primarily focus on Taiwanese noodles, though they still did have a Chong Qing noodle dish on the menu, and the Taiwanese dishes could still be made spicy. Also, there were skewers on the back of the menu but they said there were no skewers. That's why I took off a star. The food itself was delicious however. Highly recommend getting their hand pulled noodle option rather than the thin noodles (unless you don't like thick noodles) as it's made in-house and has a great texture. The spicy sauce they add to the noodles is great too. We didn't really get anything outside of noodles so no comment on the appetizers.

Very good beef noodle, medium spicy. The handmade noodles are better than the thin noodles. The beef melts in your mouth. Fast for a Sunday lunch, after the Alameda antique fair.

Fantastic and authentic Chinese food on Park. Came after a Trunk or Treat event and the service was super friendly and good and the food was delicious and made to order. Had the Taiwan Beef Noodles, cucumber appetizer, pork and cabbage dumplings, and wontons in chili oil that are made fresh on site daily. The knife cut noodles are really good as other reviewers have said and the broth is very rich and flavorful without being too oily. It's an open kitchen so you can see and hear your food being made to order. The cucumber salad was really good and not too spicy for my kids. The meat was not fatty or too chewy. The wontons were really delicious! Will definitely recommend this place and be back. Kid friendly and the booths are cute and cozy also. Two of them face a large window. There is a fridge for drinks and they have a kind of beer called Snow Beer I haven't seen before that looks cool to try next time.

I ordered the beef noodle soup. The soup was okay.. the beef was overly salty and I just couldn't even finish.I tried ordering the shrimp dumplings but they only had three left so they substituted the rest with pork dumplings which were...okay.Service was.. lacking.. I had to call their attention because they were busy talking to each other. I was the only customer. They have an outdoor seating patio that allows dogs. Parking is mainly paid street parking.
