I dine at Chingu at least once a month. I wish I could visit more often, but it's quite a drive. The late-night hours are convenient, allowing me to avoid traffic. The space is small, but some tables can accommodate small groups. The chairs are uncomfortable, likely designed for quick dining. The food is phenomenal, and the quality is outstanding. However, I have noticed that the portion sizes have significantly decreased over the past six months, which is why I gave it four stars. The servers are excellent, but my favorite is Aaron, who is incredibly friendly, attentive, and great with recommendations.

I'm mainly giving this place 1 star because it has really good reviews which I don't agree with. I came in with a party of 4 (including myself), and we were seated since we came right at opening at 6pm. We looked at the menu and ordered the tofu soup, marinated shrimp, fried chicken with honey soy, and the bulgogi fries. We honestly felt like everything was mid. Everything took about over half an hour to come out which I personally felt like was long since we were some of the first people to be there. Everything tasted like it would only taste good if you're there to drink and have a good time rather than coming for dinner. Anyway, my party and I felt underwhelmed and we wouldn't go back.

Service was great, but the food was rather average for Korean bar snacks. We liked the Galbi and spicy pork, but nothing else stood out to us. The soju wall was pretty interesting though. Prices were slightly higher than normal but nothing extravagant either. There were about 6-8 tables inside and wasn't crowded on a Friday night.

Very convenient hours, open late compared to other places around! Good place to come with a big group and the vibe is catered towards family style appetizers and entres to share with the table. I really enjoyed the bulgogi fries & cheese corn (you can never go wrong with this!), but this isn't something I would crave on the daily. Cute and trendy with the soju wall and would recommend to go here for some good korean food!

Bar food / comfort food vibes. First time I came here with friends and ordered food family style. We came around when they first opened. Not very busy. Service was good. FOOD: 2x Korean tofu soup, fried chicken, and wagyu ssam, bibimbap. For 4 ppl, it was not a lot of food. The food is okay...Tofu soup was sooo spicy. Wagyu ssam was good but not a lot of meat. Fried chicken was good and so was the bibimbap. Second time I came here, they were busier. Came with 2 friends (3 total) and ordered family style again.FOOD: We ordered the kimchi fried rice, steamed egg, fried chicken and perilla pan cake. Kimchi fried rice, steamed egg and fried chicken were good, but typical. The perilla one was kinda weird...they gave it to us with ketchup. Service was quick and decent.Overall, okay, but not very outstanding for what we paid. Maybe I'm not ordered the right things? Or maybe this place is better for drinking?

Perfect weather and perfect night for nice, hot food here on a stone pot or plate! It was a cold wintry night after a day of rain where the skies finally cleared and people were out and about. It brought back memories of Ktown when we would go out late at night for dinner after finishing work late. Even connecting with the modern culture, the kpop vibes are directly aligned with the "Hallyu!" exhibit at the Asian American Art Museum going on in The City - SF, now!

Guys, this place is priceyyy. One pro is that they are open until midnightBanchansonly 3. kimchi, pickled daikon, broccoli.Seafood Soondubu $19medium spicy here is more like mild. never had enoki and shiitake in my seafood dubu before. not complaining but just want to mention it. the flavor was okay. Bibimbap $25that's right. $25 for a bibimbap! I thought oh it better be stone pot. She said it is and we got it on a stone plate. Never seen this plating for bibimbap before. Also, lettuce in place of spinach is just not the same. Don't recommend. The bibimbap sauce is also more gochujang and less beany and sweet.Wings $19Honey soy sauce - this was good. Soju $15for a bottle of flavored soju. for that price, I assumed it was the big jug.

Authentic Korean food, in an Industrial themed restaurant! The walls are decorated with an ocean shipping container. I highly recommend the following: jap chae (glass noodles with beef), soon dobu (tofu soup), egg soufflé (steam eggs, Korean style).

We finally got a chance to try the much-anticipated army stew at Chingu! It truly lived up to the hype, providing the perfect warmth and comfort on this chilly evening. The stew was a delightful medley of flavors and textures. It was packed with ingredients like hot dog pieces, spam, rice cakes, enoki mushrooms, zucchini, napa cabbage, onions, and the star of the show - ramyeon noodles. The broth was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of spice to tantalize the taste buds. The portable stove kept the stew piping hot throughout our meal. While the portion size was ideal for two, it could easily feed a group of 3-4, complemented with 1-2 additional dishes for a larger party.Unfortunately, Chingu's popularity can make for a noisy dining experience. The restaurant was packed during our visit, and the loud conversations, especially from a large party nearby, made it difficult to have a quiet meal.Despite the noise, the army stew was a delicious and satisfying experience!
