Took 35 minutes to make a pastrami sandwich which tasted like bologna and there was barely any meat in the bread. The raviolis were microwaved and were still cold getting them.

We shared an Italian sausage sandwich. Excellent sausage made at the deli. Oldest deli in the Bay Area still owned by the original family. Friendly people and good food! Prices are also well below everyone in the area. Give them a try.

Great as usual. Too bad is too far from RWC (25 miles)! And their prices are under $10 (very rare after COVID)!

This place looked like an old cute deli that my friend mentioned. We were hoping it would be like Little Lucca's but of San Jose. This place was a bit disappointing. If you're going to advertise a limited sandwich menu, your sandwiches should be really good. Sandwiches are $14-20 nowadays, and I wouldn't recommend coming here for their food altogether. Pastrami sandwich - 1/5 starsA proper pastrami sandwich should have half an inch thick cut of meat without tomatoes, lettuce and other fillers. This place heavily relies on the fillers to make it a sandwich. Ordered this without the fillers and it was extremely sad. You basically get 2-3 slices of pastrami on bread. You're better off going to Safeway to buy the ingredients for the same price.I also ordered the pasta with spicy sausage. It was questionable when they said they didn't have a lot of it in stock. To me that means, it's frozen, not fresh, and isn't ordered often. I would skip ordering the pasta altogether. The quality is the same as the frozen aisle. Do yourself a favor and make it yourself from same ingredients at your local grocery store. Parking is limited in the area, and you will likely have to parallel park in front by the park and walk over.

This is another meatball sandwich place I truly love also. The meatball sandwich here is very delicious. The meatballs are very tender and flavorful. The sausage and pepper sandwich is very delicious too. The bread is fluffy and the provolone cheese on the sandwich is nice and salty.

Wow, what a find! I was in San Jose tagging along on my wife's business trip when I looked for an Italian style deli. This was the only one I could find. As I pulled up to the storefront to look for parking, I saw the sign and knew I had found just what I was looking for. This is no four star restaurant, but the atmosphere is neighborhood market cool. Very vintage and authentic. There are a couple of tables inside and outside on the patio. Polenta, giant sized cans of sauce fixings from Italy and pasta with soda and water coolers on the other side of a smallish counter order area. Didn't look like it had too many offerings in the deli display, but probably just what the neighborhood needs. The soft spoken, pretty woman behind the counter asked what I wanted, and was pleasant. She fixed me up one of the best Italian sausage sandwiches I've ever had! They are known for their sausage sandwiches and I can see why. They have three choices, sweet, garlic and spicy hot and three types of bread, white, wheat and sourdough. I chose the garlic on sourdough and was taken aback by how good the sausage was. The bread was that great Nor-Cal sourdough flavor. Great balance of just enough sauce, cheese, peppers and onions and bread. I loved it!I'll be back for one for the road when we leave town!

It's a Tony Soprano summer so I'm on the hunt for the best Italian sub in the area. I've been here before and it was decent but I must say this place has really gone down the shitter. I got the primo and it was drier than a nunnery. The bread was so stale, it could be used as a weapon. The only thing that stopped me from suffocating was the sliver of mayo they so generously provided. I think they were trying to kill me? The only reason I'm not giving a one star review is because my boomer coworker Tony (not soprano) was raving about the turkey sub + potato salad he got. So maybe it's a matter of generational preferences.

Wasn't sure what to expect but was really pleased with the meatball sandwich. Very moist, well seasoned, appropriate amount of tart marinara, nice soft fresh bread -- and less than $10 (I think $8 if I recall correctly). Split one with my husband but we were fighting over it at the end. We also got some long links of chorizo that look very promising for a very good price. Will be back for sure, next time for two sandwiches!Deli supplies are more convenience store style items so manage your expectations there and head straight to the deli counter.
