Sometimes it's good enough to be good at just one thing. In this case, Cha Ca Long Phung is the best egg roll place in 50 miles (that I've found so far). But that's it. Otherwise, it's a small store with a variety of goods and food but there are no descriptions so unless you're familiar with Vietnamese food, you might have no idea what to order. FOOD: Amazing egg rolls. Seriously. Best I've ever had so far. Crisp without being too greasy. Stuffed with more meat than veggies. And just great flavor overall. The sauce is only okay. I tend to use my own. But the egg rolls are so good I don't even need it. One day I'll have to learn how to order some of the other items.SERVICE: Always quick and friendly. So quick. They seem to have egg rolls at the ready. COST: Beyond reasonable. And so good! You can get full for under $5. When was the last time you could say that about anything?

My favorite spot to order a party tray of egg rolls. I honestly think ordering egg rolls here is better than ordering from king egg roll. I usually call ahead by a couple of days to order about 30 egg rolls and they're always on time if not early. It's under $2 for each egg roll. Cash only. They also have a crab asparagus soup that's not on the menu where you also need to call and order a couple days ahead. But it's a thicker gelatinous soup and you bring your own pot. Depending on the size of the pot it's about $50-70 for a huge pot of soup. If you don't have a big enough pot, they will let you borrow one but you have to give a $30 deposit. Once you bring back the pot, they'll give your $30 back. The soup is amazing for parties and with white pepper.

Absolutely delicious Vietnamese egg rolls!!! They are comparable to King Eggroll but tend to be slightly sweeter and cheaper! Crispy texture on the outside, and I love the vermicelli noodles mixed with the meat. The only thing is unlike King Eggroll where the eggrolls remain crispy hours later including a drive to SF, Cha Ca Long Phung's eggrolls get soggy. They also do not give any sweet and sour sauce or some kind of fish sauce to go with it, so your mouth will feel oily and dry after eating a few. The place is not huge and looks run down like most of the Vietnamese shops in San Jose. Workers are friendly but cash only. Definitely top egg rolls in the Bay Area! Try their fish cake too! It is a burst of flavors: both sweet and savory and also chewy! So good!Note: The egg rolls and fish cakes are delicious!

Yes indeed, Chả Cá Long Phụng makes the best authentic Vietnamese eggrolls even though their price has gone up by a quarter still $1.75 is more than reasonable yet they're sell like hot cakes popular among party goers and caterers. Loved them egg rolls and bánh pate số (pate chaud) my favorite comes in pork so crunchy and fulfilling at $2 a piece. Employees are so attentive and helpful. Parking can be a real challenge even on the weekends not the best time.

This is the best place for eggrolls! My family and I have placed party trays of eggrolls from here and it's always been a hit. It's pretty much always expected at friends/family gatherings now. LP also sell the eggrolls frozen too-- it's cheaper and you just fry it up at home. Delicious. The only gripe about this place is the parking lot is small. It's usually not a problem though because the area is not busy, but if it ever is, it's such a pain to wait for a spot to open up.

first time I had their fried shrimp was for a christmas party and someone brought this with them, and I was so amazed by how good it was, i decided to go and order it myself for another christmas party and it was a hit, everybody finished it in less than an hour. I got the small tray which was under $30, they take cash only, but I had no issue with this. This store is a little bit tucked in a plaza that isn't crowded and is across eastridge mall. A little difficult to find as it is in a corner of the plaza, but was easy enough at the same time!!

We called ahead the day before to order a tray of 25 Egg Rolls for pickup at a specific time. When we got there, the food was ready. The staff were friendly. Regarding the egg rolls, they were very crispy. I like that it was not very oily and seemed to have more meat and less veggies. I think I would choose this place over King Eggroll or Jade China if I had to order a tray of Egg Rolls next time. Inside the store is for ordering food to go. There is no inside seating. Also a small parking lot in this little plaza. Will be back again.

Come here for the egg rolls. It's always a hit at parties. Wish the service was a bit faster, but it is what it is. Cash only.

Our go to place for spring rolls and egg rolls when we're in town visiting family. We've tried other places but always end up back to Cha Ca Long Phung. Can't come too late for spring rolls, they do run out. They only make a certain amount and usually they run out if you come here later in the day.

The best of what San Jose has to offer. Hidden gem. Hole in the wall. IYKYK. LP. Whatever you want to call it, this is the place a real OG would come get their eggrolls. First of all, they open way earlier than King Eggroll and it is always crispy, no matter what time of day you come get it. The prices are better and the filling is just so much better. The only issue I have is that they are closed on Tuesday, which happens to be my favorite day of the week to eat LP. They offer many other items - prepackaged and freshly fried. There are also catering options. No frills no thrills type of establishment and they are always busy. Parking can get tough if you come later in the day, but don't let that deter you from the best eggrolls that San Jose has to offer. Cash only like all great things, so make sure you come prepared. Each eggroll is roughly like $1.5ish with tax included. Come here for your fix!
