When it's both kid-approved and hubby-approved, you know it's a winner in my book. Let's start with the star of the show--the Mediterranean Branzino. Absolute chef's kiss! The fish was perfectly light, flavorful, and paired with their side of feta tomatoes, which deserve their own round of applause.The salads were hearty and satisfying. We walked in and placed our order at a kiosk, and instead of calling a number, they call your name--it adds a personal and welcoming vibe.Though we didn't try it, their soda bar caught our eye, featuring artisanal flavors like black cherry and cream soda--definitely not your average soda fountain.The kids' menu was affordable and full of great options, making this spot perfect for families. Fresh ingredients, thoughtful details, and a little something for everyone--we'll definitely be back!

I had been wanting to check out this place for a long time. Don't know why it took me so long. We ordered at the kiosk and it had the option of wild caught salmon so I got that. After we were sitting down, the woman at the counter said they were out of wild caught salmon so we had to switch to regular salmon. Nothing was said on her part until I went back and asked "How much was the wild caught compared to the regular salmon?" They weren't going to credit me until I said something. She immediately offered me a shrimp skewer for free and I was happy with that.The food was pretty good. The shrimp skewer was our favorite thing of the meal. We would definitely order that if we return. I like that I can order a nice, healthy meal at a fast food restaurant. Don't expect an amazing salmon meal but it's decent.It did bother me that I had to say something about the price difference in the salmon I ordered compared to what they ended up giving me. But it's whatever. They took care of me in the end. If we're in the area and wanted something quick and healthy, I would return.

Thrill of the GrillWest Coast chain of restaurants that began in SoCal in 1998, and now sports almost sixty restaurants throughout (mostly) Cali, Nevada, and Arizona. As the name suggests, they focus on healthy, flame-grilled seafood options in a fast casual environment. This location is at the Almaden Ranch shopping center (i.e., where Bass Pro is) and has been in operation since Feb '20.The Good;*Friendly service*Fast-casual order up front with the kiosk or one of the team members, pay, and they text you when your order is ready for pickup. *Outdoor seating*They focus on sustainably-caught and farmed seafood following the Monterey Bay Aquarium's "Seafood Watch" list. *Beer in bottles *Shrimp skewer was delicious and maybe the best thing I've had here. *Fish is usually grilled nicely and tastes pretty good. Nothing I've had here is bad, but nothing is really memorable, either. The Meh:*I wouldn't recommend the poke bowl here, as it was 90% rice and just a small spoonful of actual fish. The Ugly:*Parking here at Almaden Ranch is horribly designed and usually a fucking shit-show. Conclusion: 3.5* Good healthy meals at reasonable prices.

I've been wanting to try this place for some time and we stopped by on a weekday. The ordering system is pretty simple and you're able to get an idea of dishes based on the images. There's ample sitting indoors and outdoors. The soda machines has some unique flavors to try. I was craving some shrimp so I got the shrimp plate that had 3 different kinds of shrimp. It had the coconut fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, and skewer shrimp. I choose the glaze of sweet and sour. My husband got the fish and chips and they had large pieces. The fries were disappointing and tasted stale. Overall the food was just okay.

I come here every so often when I'm craving fish or now my toddler asks for fish. They have a pretty decent kids menu. My kid practically ate all the fish and half of the fries. I tried the catfish. It was cooked well and I got both garlic butter and cajun seasoning. Next time I would stick with the cajun seasoning. I also got the clam chowder. The flavor was decent but I wanted more clams and potatoes. I saw a few people come in for togo orders but my toddler and I liked having our food fresh in the restaurant.

It was time for CFG. The place has changed a little, new personell and they even have Kiosks at the front counter for ordering your food. They still have customer service employees to take your order and bring your plates out to those of us physically challenged. I was craving a fish sandwich and fish taco with some french fries. The place was nice and cool inside with the AC. The temp right now in NORCAL San Jose is 95 degrees outside. Nice and toasty. The sandwich was perfect and the tacos was excellent. Fries were a little cold but I still ate them anyways. I was hungry.

I was craving a fish sandwich and saw that California Fish Grill had good reviews for theirs so I headed over. It was around 2:30pm so the restaurant wasn't crowded and I wZ able to find parking right out front. Cute place and was actually pretty busy considering it was between lunch and dinner hours. You order from a digital kiosk which isn't my favorite but I'm seeing these more and more. After ordering, I sat and waited at a nearby table. I could see the orders being plated and those looked pretty tasty. A few minutes later, my order was ready and off I went. I was a little worried things would cool off before I got home (Campbell) but I was happily surprised that everything was still really warm. Here's what I ordered: CLAM CHOWDER: pass on this. I'mA huge clam chowder fan and in my opinion, this was not a chowder. It was all watery broth and cream with literal flecks FLECKS of potato and clams. The flavor was fine but over all it's a hard pass for me FRIED FISH SANDWICH: other reviewers mentions that the bottom bun gets super soggy and this was my experience as well. So much so that I opted to remove it all together. The fish was cooked perfectly however it lacked much flavor. Salt or lemon would have been nice to break up the richness. Coconut SHRIMP: these were really yummy and I loved the dipping sauce. Overall this is a good option if you're looking for a quick meal that's not a burger or pizza. The service was good and quick and the restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating. I might give it another try if they open one near my house but I don't think I'll drive over to this location again.

So unique, so consistent, so good.There is nothing else around like this place. The California Fish Grill offers a wide variety of grilled (and fried) fish also including both wild and farmed choices. It's the toss up between a fast food and family restaurant with very reasonable prices. The quality and taste is terrific and the sides are all wonderful. Order takers and counter workers are service oriented and friendly.Love this place ever since the beginning a couple of years ago.

The food here is amazing! My husband always gets the fish and I always get the veggie options. Both are great. What gets me is how FRESH the food here is--you can tell the difference. Especially for a vegetarian--it's worth the price. Service is usually great here--especially one of the Sunday managers (I assume he's the manager because he's always making sure everyone is ok and enjoying the food). It's a clean and quiet place as well. This is my favorite place to eat at on Sundays.

Love the quality and taste of food here. Healthy and yummy, what more can we ask for? Our favorites so far are the grilled tilapia, fire roasted corn, beans, shrimp tacos and fries. The dynamite sauce goes well with everything. The service is good. You have ipads to order. And they take your plates after you are done. The ambience is a little better than fast casual. Overall a good spot for a quick healthy and tasty meal.
