"The dishes here are fresh and change based on seasonal vegetables, which I really appreciate. I love that they use what's in season--it adds to the quality and flavor. The presentation is absolutely gorgeous, and the pricing reflects that level of detail. The restaurant can get pretty packed since it's located at the end of Santana Row, but you can always make a reservation to secure a spot. The interior is just as stunning as the food, creating a beautiful dining atmosphere.Overall, it's a fantastic spot for a gathering if you enjoy high-end Mediterranean cuisine!"
"Beautiful ambiance, delicious food. All the appetizers on the mezze platter were delicious- the hummus, baba ganoush, eggplant salad. The beef kebab was so so good- perfectly cooked, not too chewy. The servers were quick and kind, the restaurant itself was beautiful"

"Short Story: This place can rival de Afghanan! Long Story: I've been coming here for a few years now and this place is always great! I've had almost all of their menu items such as lamb, chicken, chapli, and beef kabobs. I've also had all types of their bolani and it's been fantastic! The prices are a bit cheaper than de Afghanan and the service is friendly. The food does take a good amount of time to come out so be sure to plan accordingly!Verdict: I'm coming back!"
"They recently moved across the street to an even better location with more dinning space.I've been here about three times now and I am obsessed. Actually obsessed is an understatement. Pitas and wraps are amongst my favorite quick meals and Shawarmaji does it right! Everything I order is freshly made and perfectly seasoned. I usually get the chicken shawarma wrap or the Arabi style wrap with a side of fries. The wraps are served very warm which is a plus. I love that their fries have a nice crisp to it. They serve everything with toum sauce and it makes everything taste even better. I would happily return and highly recommend this place. Good for takeout too."
"I'm going to be thinking about those Brussel sprouts and cauliflower for years to come.... And maybe that pistachio baklava too. I came here for a work event and so everything was buffet style and I got to try it all! The hummus was a hit, the service was top notch, and the drinks were unique and delicious."
"Another update as it's been a couple years since. Falafel Corner has changed its name to Falafel Fremont. Same people, same place just different name. No more check in for a free baklava but that's ok, it was just a nice little perk. The parking here is always hit or miss as depending on the peak eating times can be challenging with Kakuna Sushi nearby and now Dope Pho. Recently we actually had to park in the middle section instead of right in front, but that's okay. There are still spaces. They can get a bit busy at which times, they may not even pick up the phone which can be frustrating. We did come after not being able to reach them over the phone and saw that there were large groups waiting for their food and so we ended up going somewhere else.Inside is pretty spacious with tables. We have yet to try their pizzas and we've been meaning to. Their gyro meat is just too salty and oily for me for some reason so I avoid it as well as falafels. What we do come here for is the burgers. It's always a place we come back for the burgers. The fries can be hit or miss, sometimes we switch it up for the curly ones.Just drop by, try them out and perhaps I'll eventually try their pizzas."
"The Mansaf and the Mandi are harder to find dishes in the bay area even for middle eastern restaurants. They have all the kebabs n stuff as well, but I recommend checking out the other dishes first since you can get kebabs/wraps anywhere.Overall, generally enjoyed my food and will probably try some of their other items next time"
"Had a great time here for my friend's birthday dinner! Food was phenomenal. Highly recommend the chicken marsala-- filling but not too heavy! Ambience was great, not too loud inside and they gave us a free appetizer and dessert (yummy baklava). Friendly service. Would definitely come here again!"
"Hands down one of the best Persian restaurants ever!! I thought I didn't like kebabs anymore, but it turns out I just did not have any good ones for a long time until coming to Negeen! We tried the lamb, chicken, and beef kebabs, and they were incredible. The chicken is so flavorful, and the beef is so tender. I also really like the saffron rice with cranberry and other toppings. I was lucky to come with my Persian neighbor, so she knew exactly what to order. Negeen also has a nice tea service."
"I've been in the area for awhile and sadly haven't tried this place until most recently. It was recommended to me from someone who has been going there for some time. We decided to place a pickup order through Door dash but the option wasn't available so we called it in. They're down the street from me so it was an easy pickup order. What we ordered:Khoresh Bademjan (Baby Eggplant Stew)-Baby eggplant stew. Sautéed baby eggplant, beef, homemade tomato sauce and special seasonings. Served with basmati rice.Persian Chicken Burrito-Skewer of marinated chicken wrapped in lavash bread with basmati rice, parsley, cucumber, tomatoes and special house hot sauce.Veggie Kabob- Zucchini, onion, eggplant and bell peppers lightly seasoned with a BBQ Tomato.Everything was delicious and it was my first time trying Khoresh Bademjan, it was really good! I also really enjoyed their hummus and the Persian Chicken burrito was a very generous portion. I recommend their business!"
"Absolutely spot on! I chose Meyhouse for a team holiday lunch on a recommendation from another co-worker. What an exceptional experience. I truly mean EXCEPTIONAL! So good I fact that I didn't take any food pics because I was to busy devouring all the food! Loved the decor and the open concept. Huge bar that runs the length of the restaurant and I noticed a cute dining area upstairs in a loft like setting. My only issue was the beautiful high ceilings caused the noise level to be pretty high so if you visit in hopes of a quiet romantic setting, this probably isn't it. Service was flawless! I felt like we had 2 if not 3 weight staff taken care of us at all times. One of our guests got up to use the restroom and placed his napkin on the table. The server came right over, folded his napkin and placed it neatly on the back of his chair. That's great service. As for the food ... outstanding! Absolutely everything was not only tasty but presented beautifully. We ordered 4 different appetizers and each one was mouthwatering. Since I didn't order, I'm not sure what each dish I was called. My favorite though was a yogurt topped with eggplant and tomatoes served with this AMAZING bread. I could literally eat that and be happy. We all had different main dishes and desserts and every single one of us walked away saying how excellent everything was. Will I be back? Ten thousand percent!! 10 out of 10 for me!!"
"I live down Solano and can't believe I have not walked into this place. I definitely will be back!My lamb wrap was fairly priced for the size of it (see photo). Falafels were on point too. Excited to try the other items in the menu next time."

We had a reservation for Valentine's Day and were taken care of promptly. We felt very accommodated and a great experience being served. Our server had a Polaroid camera and printed some photos to capture our special day. We hand the lamb shank, beets salad, lamb flatbread, and sirloin steak. All the flavors were very fresh with layers of tastiness!

Solid experience, very nice ambience and excellent service. The food is good. I think that the prices are a tiny bit high, but it is Solano Ave. so understandable. My friend and I tried their Brussel sprouts, spanakopita and the eggplant beef dish. I will be back, but I won't run back.

Before i dive into the amazingness of this place, be warned that there are 2 places with almost identical addresses (and one is NOT the restaurant). The only difference being the last digit of the zipcode being 2 numbers apart.Anyways, once you get to the right place, be ready to enjoy a delish meal. I don't disagree with folks that say the food is a little pricey - but this is also not unreasonable considering you do get complimentary bread and the food is filling. We sat in their fun seating area with comfy cushions/pillows and enjoyed the complimentary bread with their spices. Then for the main meals, we got:1. Potato Boulani - these potato pancakes are a joy and it's a big portion. We split among 4 people and it was PLENTY. It comes with yogurt (and you can ask for more) and it's a comfort food of green onions with shaved pancake pressed together2. Mantoo Entree - these were yum but i would say you should go with the appetizer version of it next time so you can try more of their other entrees. These are well seasoned shredded beef dumplings with a type of tomato sauce on top. The entree came with about 12 or so dumplings if i recall correctly3. Combination Kabob - we couldn't decide on chicken or lamb kabobs so we got the combination plate. I think both proteins were delish so I would probably do the same next time around. The lamb wasn't as "gamey" as I would expect (a good thing)I hear this place gets crowded but we came for lunch on a weekend and it was pretty empty!

Shawarmaji is phenomenal. The food reminds me of the food I had when I was visiting the Middle East and my friend's grandmother cooked for us. So good!

We came to Pomella after seeing Check, Please where they featured Ba-Bite. Found that the owners of Ba-Bite closed back in 2018 due to a landlord dispute and reopened as Pomella during the height of the pandemic. Pomella is located near Kaiser in Oakland. It's in the same little plaza as Dona. We ordered two items - a chicken wrap and the chicken tagine. Let me tell you, the wrap was full of pickled goodness. I loved the pickled veggies so much - perfectly tart and crispy that complemented the warm wrap and marinated chicken. The juices that kept dripping from both the pickled veggies and the juicy chicken was so flavorful that I would take bites from my wrap and try to use the drippings as a dipping sauce. I could probably get extra pita bread just to lap up the extra juice drippings. The chicken tagine, however, was a bit bland. Maybe it was an off day, but we didn't enjoy it as much as the wrap. The couscous was the smaller version and slightly dry.

I stopped by Falafel Fremont, and the food was great! I ordered the Big Boy burger, and it was flavorful. The curly fries were delicious -- perfect amount of crisp. Also if you're into spicy snacks, try the halal spicy beef jerky! It's hot, spicy, halal and tasty! For dessert, they have a great large selection, and my personal favorite was the pistachio cake -- it was amazing! I also love the chai here, it tastes very homemade and flavorful. The service was excellent, with friendly and knowledgable staff. The restaurant has plenty of seating for families and they even offer a prayer room, which adds to the convenience if you need to get a prayer in. This is a little gem!

Ended 2023 at this cozy Palestinian-owned restaurant with friends! The restaurant is situated in a grey industrial-esque location, surrounded by other small businesses, offices, and food trucks. Drive all the way to the back of the lot to find Holyland. Parking was spacious on a Thursday night but foot traffic may be different during afternoons and weekdays. Upon walking in we were greeted by a woman behind a counter, where we ordered and paid for food. Utensils, napkins, and drinks are also in the front. There was plenty of seating with tables that can accommodate for four people each.I ordered the Moussaka with no meat, which is an eggplant dish, stewed in tomato sauce. The eggplant's texture was soft since it was probably simmered in the tomato sauce. The taste was decent, but the sauce definitely tasted like marinara. I also got a strawberry basil drink, which was a sweet and tasty contrast to my savory meal. Lastly, no Mediterranean meal is complete without baklava! There was only one kind, which was a classic walnut filling. The phyllo cover was perfectly flaky and the filling ratio was proportional. I haven't had the chance to eat a lot of Middle Eastern food, so I thought this was a nice introductory meal to expand my palette! I'm always intrigued to learn how other cuisines use and blend spices, so Holyland satisfied this curiosity. I would love to come back and try more dishes, as well as offer my support to Palestinian-owned establishments. Thanks to Holyland for their contribution in our diverse community!

Came in on a Sunday at around 1pm with a party of 2, and were seated immediately. The food here is fantastic! Hot, flavorful, and fresh. The highlight for me was actually the artichoke soup, which goes great with the complementary bread.Service was also another highlight. Our server was attentive and welcoming, and checked in with us twice during the entree.Great experience, 10/10 would recommend for groups, family and friends to catch up and hang out over a delicious meal.

"My dad really likes this place. It's across the street from "pill hill" on the telegraph side of the hill. They have been here for hella long but I have only been here a handful of times when giving in to my dad's request. They have a small grocery store side and a deli style cafe side. It is very popular with the EMTs and hospital staff. The staff seem very nice on the occasions that I have been there. The food is quick and healthy and it actually tastes good. So my concerns are that tables are not at clean as one would like matter of fact even the many of the other surfaces are no so clean. So just don't let your imagination wander about the things that the public can not see is all I am going to say. Other than that you can get a decent meal at a good priceOh also one last thing don't try to call ahead they never answer the phone"
"Good food. Big portions. Reasonable prices. Great service! I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu."
"If you're looking for a shawarma wrap that's bigger than your face, then you have to check out Shawarmaji! Starting out in Oakland, Shawarmaji is a small, family-owned, Jordanian restaurant that recently expanded to Santa Clara and focuses on offering authentic Jordan-style shawarma in the Bay Area. They're most known for their 12 inch chicken wrap that includes thinly-sliced chicken, which is initially cooked on a revolving spit, their housemade toum sauce (aka Lebanese garlic sauce), and cucumber pickles in a thin arabic wrap. The menu at Shawarmaji is relatively simple and offers chicken or lamb/beef served in a wrap or pita form, fries, and a few additional small sides. This is a great place to visit if you're looking to try authentic Jordanian shawarma!ORDER: Chicken Wrap ($14) - Chicken was really tender and I loved the garlic sauce that it came with. Although I do wish there were more vegetables included in the wrap, it was overall really good."
"Service was amazing. Dante was super sweet. We asked to sit on the patio, the sun was shining so it felt amazingFood is fresh and quick.Got the pita falafel w hot mint tea had fresh tea leaves.SO SO GOOD!Also was offered complimentary dessertLoved everything, will be recommending and bringing friends and family to try as well. 10/10"
"My friend Erin L. and I had dinner plans on a Monday night. The place we originally wanted to go to ended up being closed, so I'm grateful we found this place on Yelp.We shared one appetizer and two entrees. The beets salad was refreshing and delicious. I liked the nuttiness flavor. For our entrees, we got the lamb kebab and chicken kebab. The lamb kebab was amazing. The meat was very tender and not gamy at all. I'm not sure what they put in the rice, but it was so tasty. The chicken kebab was a bit overdone and not as tender as I hoped for, but still good. We loved our food, and finished every last bite. Portions were a bit smaller than I expected. I wanted more kebabs!!Service was good. We were indecisive with our two entrees so I'm appreciative that our server helped us decide. The interior is cute and quaint.Would go back for the lamb kebab :)"
"Local Fremont Afghan restaurant. Love taking advantage of living in "Little Kabul" and having so many Afghan markets and restaurants to try.Interior is shiny gold, burl wood, and red upholstery, I can see fancy family gatherings and events happening here. It's totally unassuming from the outside next to a Taco Bell and check-cashing place that used to be a fast food restaurant.Chicken and Shami Kabob: Like other Afghan restaurants they cook to order and it'll take 40 minutes but it is so worth the wait, the meat is always tender and delicious. It comes with a sour side salad with chickpeas and afghan bread which is good for wrapping meat in or dipping in the yogurt or chutney sauce Potato Bolani: So good, love it dipped or plain, you get a ton of it in your order almost guaranteeing leftovers."
"Fantastic spot for brunch. They've upgraded with a larger spot on Solano. Great spot for a date with the cute interior and delicious food. Reservations recommended, but we were able to walk in early Sunday morning for 2. Service is friendly. Baba's breakfast - spin off of an American breakfast plate. Comes with eggs, tots, lamb sausage (can be subbed for falafel), pita, lentils, yogurt sauce and fresh pickled veggies. Shulaquiles - blend of chilaquiles and shashuka. Flavorful with plenty of spices without being too heavy. Knabeh pancake - definitely recommended to share! Texture is more similar to a cake than pancake. Love the orange blossom syrup and pistachios combo!"
"I ordered a gyro. Filling is plentiful. Chicken wasn't dry like the other chain. I asked for the dressing on the side so I can put the amount I want. Their fries are good. Nice and crispy. Restaurant is clean. Food came out fast"
"Nice to see an authentic and casual Afghan joint in the Fremont area! It was a quiet Tuesday night but this place was quite packed. Nice cozy aesthetics on the inside with traditional furniture. Service was good and they were able to provide items that weren't explicitly on the menu as well. The meats were cooked very nicely, and their rice also tasted like a lot of care was put into cooking it. I think the highlight is definitely all of their desserts though! Especially the Sheer Chai (Afghan milk tea) - I would've drank 10 if I had the stomach space!"
"A new hidden gem!! Delicious food especially their Turkish delights! When we arrived there were people waiting for their food and I would say it was about 10-15 min but definitely worth it! We have a little one who was getting a bit antsy and one of the servers brought her French fries first! It was so thoughtful and excellent way to keep her occupied while we wait. Everything was delicious especially the falafel balls and the combo plate. The lamb and chicken were cooked to perfection. And don't get me started on the selection of sweets! We got a baklava and some Turkish delights. I will say we are definitely coming back."
"DO NOT SLEEP on this halal market and deli in West Oakland. It has the rating it has for a reason! Also, it's super close to the West Oakland BART station if you ever need to be there. I was actually stopping by to stop by a Goth market event at a local brewery (to review shortly)... The market has all of the things you would expect. Nothing off there. The real (!!!) kicker is the counter-serve deli they have. The food is quite frankly some of the best Middle Eastern food I have EVER had - and at an extremely affordable price. You order at the counter and it takes a bit because they are actually making your dish fresh! I ordered two dishes. First, I had to order the lamb platter - the store is Yemeni and lamb mandi is unique Yemeni specialty. It's basically lamb, rice, spices, veggies, yogurt and all the other stuff you'd expect. The meal was absolutely delicious and massive. There were two giant pieces of lamb - that basically slid right off the bone. An absolutely amazing dish. I also come from a very lamb-meat-centric culture and I was absolutely shocked at how soft this lamb was - I've actually never experienced anything like it!!! Second, I ordered the veggie platter because it was cheap and wanted to take something home. It was pretty good - hummus, baba ghanouj, pita, falafel, rice - also all the things you would expect. Also a great, solid meal. They also give out complimentary Yemeni tea. I think it's sugared up green tea. A bit too sweet for me, but a nice touch if you're into that. There's a few places outside to sit. Though it was actually raining the day I went, so I had to eat in my car. So I guess the enjoyableness of your dining experience is a bit dependent on weather. Anyways, the food is cheap, generally very good, and the lamb mandi plate is absolutely one of the best things I have ever eaten in that part of the Bay. Highly recommended if you want a tasty, cheap, filling meal (especially if you need to fill lots of people) - to show up and grab a plate!"
"I am OBSESSED with their cauliflower! I was lucky enough to enjoy a plant-based meal catered by Balladi Kitchen composed of all my favorite dishes:Cucumber tomato salad, super fresh and bursting with bright herbs.Dolma, tender yet not mushy.Roasted and smashed potatoes, buttery and nicely seared on the outside for a crisp finish.Falafel, a little dry but excellent when smothered with some spicy tahini sauce.Pita, fluffy and soft, perfect for dipping or stuffing. And yes, that cauliflower. There's clearly turmeric involved to achieve that gorgeous golden glow, and so many other rich spices and seasonings that I can't begin to pick apart. It's so rich though not oily and seems to just melt in your mouth. My photos don't begin to do it all justice so just trust me: You want this. Right now. Go, order, get the cauliflower, be happy."
"No complaints here. Unlike some of the other reviews stated, my portion size was just fine. I was in and out within 5 minutes. Cashier was super chill."
"One of my favorite restaurants for our men's day out We ate a goat The meal is called "Heneez"The order needs to be made a day in advance because they cook it for 5-6 hours! It comes served on seasoned rice and with amazing salads. We followed that by free black tea with fresh mint leaves (unlimited serving). Then we ended the night with fresh lemonade on ice This restaurant is a hidden gem!"
"Heard about this spot from a few people, had to stop by today for lunch. Friendly lady who greeted me and explained their menu. I decided to get the diced lamb over rice. Flavorful and tender. Asked for some hot sauce and it was a compliment. Next time, I will try the lamb shank and perhaps a wrap. They also have deserts that aren't too sweet. Yum! Over all, clean, good service and tasty food. #SOLitFood"
"I was looking for something filling, not the usual and nothing commercial.I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and oh my goodness, it did not disappoint. Delicious, well-made, East-African seasoned chicken plate with fresh, great quality ingredients. Huge portion size and immensely satisfying. the prices are great and the establishment is impeccably clean. I will absolutely be back. Easy choice if you're in the area."
"Located within the Real Produce grocery store is a full on Mediterranean Food Court. They offer the usual suspects like gyros, falafel, and the like. Given how much we liked the market and needing lunch we put in an order and it was really good. In fact we came back a few days later to make sure it was not a fluke (It wasn't) Each plate comes with a small salad, batsmati rice, hummus, half a pillowly warm pita and you chose your protein. All plates are reasonably priced at $9.99Beef Shawarma Plate: tender pieces of beef that were well seasoned. Unlike some places it was free of gristle as well. Chicken Kabob: Again tender pieces of chicken with a hint of turmeric and perhaps saffron. Again perfectly cooked. Lamb Kabob: A touch chewy, slightly overcooked, but had again really good flavor, Beef Gyro: TO be fair I was a little concerned as it was reheated prior to packaging, but I cannot complain about the flavor or the results. Hints of garlic and other spices, it was perfect with rice and hummus. Falafel Plate: Perfectly fried bits of goodness. Crunchy exterior gave way to a cooked but moist center busting with parsley, garlic and cumin. It was not falafel enough to muscle into the top spot in my rankings, but it easily made it into the top 3. As noted each plate came with a: Salad: fresh and crispy. It was a bit inconsistent as the second trip it had no dressing. Hummous: a touch on the runny side but had great flavor again with the cumin and garlic coming through but not overwhelming. Rice: The batsmati was properly cooked and it was refreshing to see it was not loaded up with butter as many places do. The staff is friendly and helpful. It can take time to get the order out so be prepared. In fact I would order first and then do my shopping. Good food reasonably priced will win every time!"
"Great food, big portions, super nice people. You can get your groceries while you're there too. Nice to have more options for take out nearby! They're expanding the menu soon. Looking forward to trying other options!"
"A true gem -- amazing flavors, good hospitality/service, and great prices. We got the aloo gobi, fried eggplant, chapli kebab, and chicken samosa. Aloo gobi: 8.5/10 delicious, flavorful, loved the chunks of cauliflower. Fried Eggplant: 10/10 super "meaty", unique, easily my new favorite dish. Chapli kebab: 8.25/10 I don't usually like meat dishes but this one tasted great. Would get again. Chicken samosa: 9/10 different from the samosas that I'm used to, but in a good way. Filled with super crumbly, flavorful chicken. Accompanied by a sweet, tart sauce. The staff was also super friendly, made us feel very welcome and checked in regularly to see how we were enjoying the food. Would 1000% come back to try the other dishes."
"Absolutely delicious. I had the chicken garlic gyro and garlic fries. The spices were fantastic, the peta rich and smooth flavored, and the side white sauce was a great complement. I need two or three servings of the sauce! The garlic fries were uniquely cooked, or at least I've never had them this way. It was a buttery flavor that I couldn't get enough of. Delicious. Gaters is definitely on the "rotation"! Note that there is limited seating."
"I was searching food a good dinner spot and so happy that I found this place! The restaurant is spacious with indoor and outdoor tables. The service was so friendly! The waiter helped me with some recommendation. The hummus, the chicken, the pita bread were all so good! They use high quality ingredients as well. Even though I finished everything, I felt really good and satisfied and not bloated."
"Food was sooo good, they make everything fresh. Hummus, baba ganoush, meat and sauces. What I got :Combo Donor : 5/5Buffalo fries : 5/5Hummus and Pita : 5/5Came here on a late Friday night with a friend and come in to find that the owner is someone we used to go to high school with! I didn't really know him too well but doesn't matter. What matters is the food and service. The pita and the hummas were the main reason we decided to come in. The owner was giving out samples of hummus and pita and I was hooked. The pita were fried and so delicious. The combo donor was really good. I ate most of it and still had meat left over. The Buffalo fries are also a fan favorite here. I thought it was good, definitely a late night eat. Also had some leftover so will be eating that with my leftover meat! Saber is very attentive to his customers and to his food! He took over this restaurant from his uncle and perfected his marinated! They just install new lights! So fun. Overall, this place is pretty tasty and most things are made fresh and in house. Definitely a hole in the wall place. I would definitely comeback here!"
"When was the last time I came here... I think almost 10yrs ago... and yes, I came to have a good dinner.First, food never change from what I expected, the same tastes and servings... I enjoyed the small plates and shareable. Check my pics for reference...every bite brings me back to the old days I used to come here.Second, the ambiance is still carries the old family feel, the old homey feeling of getting dinner. Now, I'm alittle sad, how the service changed, the new servers are not as welcoming or pleasant anymore.. I didn't get that feeling of family welcome... I remember how old times, servers here used to talk to you and make you feel home and make you feel the dinner they served you is the same food you get at home. But, it's the food that matters most, maybe next time I'll just get a take out."
