The batter is quite eggy which is different from other chile rellenos that I've had, but it still tasted pretty good. The chili is stuffed with cheese which went well with the sauce.Meanwhile, my friend got the $4.95 cheese quesadilla chicas. It was a simple crispy quesadilla that's filled with melted cheese and topped with bits of salsa and guac. This was actually quite a good deal if you want something tasty but not too big."

"GENERAL VS REGIONALI found this place by accident as I drove to eat at another eatery close by. After my meal at the other eatery I wanted to come to Los Carnalitos to give this place a try. When I entered Los Carnalitos I noticed the items on the menu were different from any Mexican eatery I ate before (later I discovered the food specializes in cuisine of Mexico City). What kind of items should I order? I came with intent to order items that did not have picture on the menu for delivery. I wanted to try something new.The first time I came here was the last Saturday of March. I ordered the gorditas that had a picture on the menu. Also I ordered the quesadilla de azteca, which didn't have a picture on the delivery menu. When you don't have a picture in mind what an item looks you don't have a premonition what the item will taste like. The gordita was tasty, but the quesadilla de azteca was better of the two dishes. My experiences with quesadillas are they have grilled marks with melted cheese. The quesadilla de azteca was the first time I ate this style as the cheese were crumbled.The second time I ate tostadas de pata and huarache con costilla. These items had no pictures from the delivery that's why ordered them. I like the tostada. The pata (beef tendons) had that slimy texture, but I never found it offputting as the lettuce and cheese contrasted that texture. By far the haurach con constilla was the tastiest of the two dishes. The beef short ribs on the haurache con constilla rivals with other beef short ribs I ate at a Korean or Hawaiian eatery. The third time I came here I ordered the tostada tinga de res and pambazo de chicharrón. The beef on the tostada was ok. The pambazo is like torta except the bread is marinated. Even though the bread was marinated it was crispy. That was an unexpected texture. The pambazo I ate at Los Carnalitos is better than any tortas I ate. The next time I came here I ordered the torta because I heard this place is known for their tortas. I ordered the salchica torta as I never expected turkey sausage was part of Mexican cuisine. The torta is tasty, but it pales in comparison to the pombazo because the marinated, grilled bread is more flavorful than a regular grilled bread. One other item I ordered was the churros. I've had churros at stadiums or other eateries where the quality of the churros was stale. The churros at Los Carnalitos are probably the best I've had at a restaurant. The portion is big while the churros are crunchy and moist. The drizzle of the sweet, condensed milk brings additional flavor to the churrosThe last time I came here I ordered two items I had in the past I liked: pombazo and churros. The pombazo I ordered this time was the traditional, which included chorizos. Overall Los Carnalitos Restaurant opened my palette to Mexican cuisine. Los Carnalitos Restaurant specializes food from the Mexico City. Most of the Mexican restaurants I ate at didn't focus on a regional cuisine but a general food of Mexico. Trying something new doesn't have to be adventurous but have an open mind. The best items I ate at Los Carnalitos were the quesadilla de azteca, haurache con constilla, pambozo, and churros. If I crave for a regional cuisine of Mexican food I would go back to Los Carnalitos Restaurant."

Another friend enjoyed her Strawberry/Banana smoothie and another enjoyed her Huevos la Mexicana, though she wished she ordered the hashbrowns instead of "home fries" since they were kind of plain. I enjoy potatoes like that if they add onion and green peppers. We enjoyed our coffees with refills. The prices have gone up but so have all the other restaurants and this in comparison seems reasonable."

I love their salsa bar! 4 diff salsas, plus pico de gallo and their jalapeño, carrot, potato mix is my personal fav! Meat has tasted fresh each time! Interior seems clean, I don't trash laying around, you get food served by their kitchens staff. It was a refreshing pineapple and coconut juice over ice topped with some whipped cream and coconut flakes. It was perfect drink after a heavy lunch meal. It was a nice environment with the trees and bushes and heat lamps.Restrooms were about 100 ft away around the corner from Left Bank Brasserie before the stairways to the garage.Nice outdoor bar restaurant with good drinks and friendly service."

Though I did like the guava flavor of the one on the rocks.I love flautas so I got those this time, and the chicken ones per recommendation of the waiter. They were perfectly crispy and fried and tender juicy shredded white meat on the inside. I wasn't completely stuffed but I was definitely full. This place is a little pricy 20-30 a dish for dinner and then 14-20 for a margarita. Pitcher is def way to go if you have 4 people drinking it. I think we got like 6 glasses from the pitcher."

We literally gorged ourselves on the home made chips and home made pico de gallo: delicious and free when you eat 'in'. The salsa/chip bar is AWESOME: hot and spicy stuff or choices of mild. The green sauce is also mild and quite excellent!I ordered the soup: Caldo de res (beef soup), which came with tortillas and a side of rice, cilantro and onion. The broth was rich and real (no canned stuff here) with super large chunks of meat that were tender, with potato & carrots. The bowl was very good size and not 'watery' tasting--nor was it too spicy for this white lady! My only issue: a large hair in the soup from possibly the waitress or kitchen help! YUCK. Please, could you wear hair nets for this reason? My husband at first did not want the breaded Tilipia fish plate, but ended up with it and was extremely pleased. It was a large piece, lightly breaded and quite tasty and 'light' (not oily, greasy) with beans, guac and sour cream. We were very happy with our meals and will come back again. Tons of parking in the lot; as all the other businesses are closed or empty."

When the server brought it out, I thought they ran out of large bowls and had split into two small ones. She confirmed we were being served a large which is less than half the portion from eateries I frequent in The Mission and Excelsior in the city.Small size aside, how was it?Menudo is all about that meltingly soft offal in a soulful broth. This one not so much. The skin on the pata (pig's foot) was still crunchy, as was the honeycomb tripe. The hominy was tender tho. The broth was devoid of any flavor. Doctoring it up with the accompanying white onions, dried oregano, chili peppers, cilantro, and squeeze of lime helped a little.It's served with your choice of corn or flour tortillas. We choose flour and it's your standard industrial ones.They provide complimentary chips with red salsa that low key reminds me of Pace Picante. It's free so no complaints. We ordered a small side of guacamole (not the appetizer size) for dipping. It was half an avocado mixed with a chockfull of onions...steep for $8.Service was very fast and the busboy was such a sweetheart (hence the 3 stars). He brought TT a bowl of water without asking.ASK for an itemized bill! I was shown a non-itemized bill with the total of $29.14 but when I received the receipt to sign, I was charged $30.24 (pre-tip). This is not an isolated experience if you read other reviews. The only logical explanation is they charge a credit card surcharge. I don't mind paying a cc surcharge but they need to be transparent and communicate this to customers.Overall, I know Tia Juana has a loyal following in Sunnyvale but kinda I'm surprised by the high ratings. Maybe we ordered wrong or it was an off day for the menudo. They've been a neighborhood staple for over two decades so they're obvs doing something right!"

I had some concern before getting my dish bc I didn't know if it would be bland or boring (side note: I typically I don't order a salad at a Mexican restaurant (like come on) but I wanted something light bc my stomach wasn't feeling great the night before). The salad was so filling and so colorful -- I was impressed. My belly thanked me for choosing the safer choice. The service was great and our group was consistently checked on. Not to mention the amount of space we had to catch up and share stories was perfect (we were not competing against loud noise). Anytime I'm in the east bay and crave Mexican food, I'll be here. Summary: We had a wedding of about 150 people and served churros as one of our late night snacks. Guests were RAVING about these... to the point of stopping me on the dance floor to be like "dude wtf why are the churros so good" and "hey man! churros are fire- better than Disneyland!" instead of gushing about my marriage bwahaha. Churro Offerings: The churros were made fresh at the cart and were hot and crispy. They served 4 flavor choices for our guests: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and caramel. They even made heart shaped churros for us newlyweds which were AMAZING! They also tasted so fresh and in my opinion were truly better than any Disneyland churro or anything I've tried in Spain/Mexico! Note for those hiring them for weddings or events: GET THE CART instead of the tray of churros delivered! This was such a crowdpleaser and the freshness and customization of each churro is what made guests really happy and excited.Business: Carlos was very easy to work with. We went back and forth via email to work out the logistics and he was able to generate an invoice so I understood exactly when, how, and how much to pay them. The cart arrived on schedule and served churros without a hitch. When I hit my churro limit, they also allowed me to purchase more in real time via some quick calls to Carlos, which was nice of them. Appreciate their flexibility here as guests loved this so much that they went back for seconds!! Pricing: Pricing was extremely fair given the late night hour of our service. The final price of bringing a whole cart to make ready-to-order churros was much cheaper than asking our venue to put out milk and cookies on a tray and way cheaper than getting most other dessert bar offerings catered in.Overall I highly recommend this place to anyone in need of a churro fix, especially those considering them for weddings.Thank you Churros El Guero for making our wedding night so memorable and delicious! All of this was marinated in a citrus chile lime juice mixture that had just the right amount of salty, sour, and spicy flavors and you could taste it in every single bite! Served with a huge bag of tostadas. Big thanks to our server who, despite being incredibly busy, brought by a squeeze bottle of mayo and suggested we add some to our tostadas. It was the perfect creamy complement to the aguachiles!It was also our first time trying Sinaloan style sushi; sounded over the top at first but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the combo of ingredients and flavors turned out! We got the Divorciado, which was a sushi roll stuffed with steak, shrimp, cream cheese, cucumber, and avocado. The whole thing was breaded, deep fried and sliced, then topped off with surimi and creamy sauces and served with a blistered guero chili pepper and a slightly tangy dipping sauce. It was very flavorful and also fun to eat!They have a ton of other dishes that look delicious and I'm looking forward to trying their ceviche on our next visit! And probably another one of their sushi rolls!"

The birria was so tender and juicy, and whatever sauce was on my tacos was a solid 10/10. I also had a hibiscus agua fresca that was delicious and not too sweet.
