"My dad really likes this place. It's across the street from "pill hill" on the telegraph side of the hill. They have been here for hella long but I have only been here a handful of times when giving in to my dad's request. They have a small grocery store side and a deli style cafe side. It is very popular with the EMTs and hospital staff. The staff seem very nice on the occasions that I have been there. The food is quick and healthy and it actually tastes good. So my concerns are that tables are not at clean as one would like matter of fact even the many of the other surfaces are no so clean. So just don't let your imagination wander about the things that the public can not see is all I am going to say. Other than that you can get a decent meal at a good priceOh also one last thing don't try to call ahead they never answer the phone"
"Small but mighty. This above average Mexican grocery also features a taqueria that gets quite busy at lunchtime.I will stop in for pico de gallo, cilantro and green onions, and fruit. If I'm hungry, I'll grab a taco plate and an agua fresca (there's a coconut one here I love and never see anywhere else)."
"This meat market has a big variety of fresh meat, poultry and fish along with local spice blends, pasta, and other condiments to use when cooking Store is clean Well organized and stockedPrices are reasonable Customer service is friendly Small private parking lot Deli makes sandwiches as wellHowever they stop making sandwiches at 5:30 Store closes at 6pm"
"DO NOT SLEEP on this halal market and deli in West Oakland. It has the rating it has for a reason! Also, it's super close to the West Oakland BART station if you ever need to be there. I was actually stopping by to stop by a Goth market event at a local brewery (to review shortly)... The market has all of the things you would expect. Nothing off there. The real (!!!) kicker is the counter-serve deli they have. The food is quite frankly some of the best Middle Eastern food I have EVER had - and at an extremely affordable price. You order at the counter and it takes a bit because they are actually making your dish fresh! I ordered two dishes. First, I had to order the lamb platter - the store is Yemeni and lamb mandi is unique Yemeni specialty. It's basically lamb, rice, spices, veggies, yogurt and all the other stuff you'd expect. The meal was absolutely delicious and massive. There were two giant pieces of lamb - that basically slid right off the bone. An absolutely amazing dish. I also come from a very lamb-meat-centric culture and I was absolutely shocked at how soft this lamb was - I've actually never experienced anything like it!!! Second, I ordered the veggie platter because it was cheap and wanted to take something home. It was pretty good - hummus, baba ghanouj, pita, falafel, rice - also all the things you would expect. Also a great, solid meal. They also give out complimentary Yemeni tea. I think it's sugared up green tea. A bit too sweet for me, but a nice touch if you're into that. There's a few places outside to sit. Though it was actually raining the day I went, so I had to eat in my car. So I guess the enjoyableness of your dining experience is a bit dependent on weather. Anyways, the food is cheap, generally very good, and the lamb mandi plate is absolutely one of the best things I have ever eaten in that part of the Bay. Highly recommended if you want a tasty, cheap, filling meal (especially if you need to fill lots of people) - to show up and grab a plate!"

Cute and friendly small open-air feel market with hard to find items at decent prices. Right around the corner from the Oakland Islamic Center, gets busy right after Jummah noon prayer. The cafe is a big draw, great prices & delicious food. My coworkers rave about it. There's a lot on the menu I def want to try so I'll be back on Fridays when we have time.

I was in the Bay, visiting and curiosity brought me to Arteaga's. I was amazed at their meat selection and cuts! I purchased some thin cut short ribs in a teriyaki marinade. Most people call it Korean Kalbi. I bought 5lbs as the price point was great! Took the meat home, grilled and they disappeared pretty fast! I'll be back as the meat area was great, but hear the taqueria in the rear of store has good food

One of those 'for what it is' reviews. This is a small scale grocer and butcher shop. So, lots of meat, impressive cheese assortment, and some select pastas, sauces, etc. sort of on the side, they'll make you a sandwich. No silly names like Ike's, and no crazy toppings assortment like Subway. It's a sandwich, generous on the meat, which you can watch them cut freshly. Going from four to five stars mostly on the strength of some chill but friendly staff guys.

Great selection of meats. Very clean and nicely maintained. All meats are always fresh.Only issue I have is the cut goat meat pieces are too tiny cut. So it doesn't taste that good in Biriyanis and Roganjosh. But overall I am very happy that Fremont has a fresh meat store that carries paya, stomach intestines and all the good stuff

Service, food, and overall supermarket feel is unparalleled by any other. The workers here were probably one of the nicest people I've ever encountered and every single one of them were extremely accommodating!I ordered the 12 taco tray with assorted meats, chicken, al pastor, and carne asada and all of them were bangers! The chicken was juicy, the al pastor was tender and sweet, and the carne asada was absolutely delectable, perfectly seasoned and cooked I can still remember the taste. The nachos they absolutely STACK! There was so much meat, pico, and sour cream on top that I thought the box wasn't going to close. The prices are hard to beat too! The taco tray was 30$ for 12 delicious tacos and the nachos weren't bad either! I also picked up one of their tres leches cakes as well and needless to say, I will be coming back many times over to get it again and all their other baked goods as well. While I was picking a cake out, I noticed I had chocolate on my finger and as I was being rung up, the cashier noticed and offered me a paper towel to wipe it off. The kindness and service of this place just can't be beat!

Just a warning that I purchased the galbi ribs and asked if it was marinated. The shop clerk said it was pre-marinated, but it totally does not taste like Korean galbi ribs. It is not properly marinated.

"Small butcher shop that sell chicken, duck, lamb, and quail eggs, frozen fish, many types of fish fillet. They also sell their signature hot tandoori marinade. The offal are sold here too like hearts, livers, spleen, and brains for exotic dishes. Ask the butcher how you want it cut for the meal you are cooking. No photography, video recording allowed. They don't want their employees to be in the pictures. Just check website and post card for updated prices and products sold. Customer service is 4/5.Ambiance, cleanliness of shop is 6/5. Its a new shop.Products sold are fresh, frozen and high-quality, so 5/5.I will come back to buy lamb for dishes that will make for family."
"Coconut Hill replaces Spencer's with the same meat availability plus indian groceries in a small, clean compact store, there are boxes in the small ailses, and a monitor sticking out from cashier's station. easy to bump into things while browing.offerings: fresh meats, groceries, produce, frozen ready to eat foods.buys: mung bean snack (2.29)-not a lot of selectionstake outs:-small parking lot.may be inadequate during rush hour biz.-just the basics, not a vast inventory."
"They are relatively new and fresh.I've been many times since it's local, an alternative to other chain grocery stores and everything is good. They have fresh produce/products and are moderately priced for some things. They have a ready made food are with tamales, ceviche, aguachilles and more. They have a butcher meat section with all the fresh meats. There is also a mexican restaurant with great food. The staff is friendly & helpful, I'm comfortable recommending them as a business and I'm here often.Cheers to good eats."
"I went to this shop yesterday. I thought it was a restaurant but they sell meat for hot pot. We love the meat !!"
