"Located in the Marketplace, Baron's has great cuts of fish and meats. They will scale, skin, clean, etc. Caviar and smoked salmon is also available. You can request for your meat and fish to be packed in ice. It's a bit pricey, but the quality of the fish and meats is worth it! My one piece of feedback is to have a clear place to form a line."
"I went to this shop yesterday. I thought it was a restaurant but they sell meat for hot pot. We love the meat !!"
"Faisal Market is a small market that specializes in Indian/Pakistani food. wasn't sure till i checked the website. halal meat counter in the rear, small aisles containing condiments, sauces, packaged goods, pre-made pastries, cookies, snacked, all factory made. didn't see any local made goods.not everything was priced. small produce section in front.few middle eastern items seen. items had too much fat content so i passed....."
"We ordered frozen hot pot beef and oxtail. They were really nice and answered all of our questions. And Wow! What a bargain fot quality meat!"
"Formerly known as Food Bowl 99, this supermarket offers patrons the same fishy stench that packs a huge punch as you enter. The establishment specializes in Hispanic foods and beverages but carries a large variety of Asian groceries and items at well. The parking lot is huge in size which makes it easy to maneuver in and out. Cost isn't too bad but pay close attention to your purchases. There were a number of produce items that were not fit to be sold still placed out on the sales floor. Yuck.Lucky 7 Supermarket definitely wouldn't be a first pick when it comes to my grocery needs but it sure does the job it you're caught in a bind or simply lazy."
"They offer a lot of different selections for Asian dishes. I enjoyed finding things from all the ethic groups of Asia. They have a decent selection of fresh seafood in the store. We appreciated the customer service we got in the back while choosing out our seafood."
"Madina Halal Foods is at the backside of the commercial strip. good sized store even though front looks small.offerings: fresh halal meats, groceries, produce, condiments, refrigerated goods. not sure if eatery is open.buys: "Nan Khatai" classic biscuit (1.49)-% of nutrional info not very bad. slight amount of palm oil, sugar-slight sugary taste, fattiness.lots of parking, didn't see ready to eat goods."
"First time here I was looking for some short ribs to make some Asian sticky ribs ...... initially I didn't see any But I was asked what I was looking for and sure enough they did have some available They cut up the short ribs how I wanted them Price is very reasonable Store is clean Customer service is friendly Street parking only Credit card and debit card accepted Just cus is not displayed does not mean it's not available"
"This whole mini-mall is packed with Mexican shops (though that Guadalajara taqueria next door is nothing special IMO). The market/carniceria is good though, because it's not too big, but it's well-stocked. The best thing about it is that I can buy the crumbly white cheese for my refried beans in small quantities, at the deli counter, instead of dropping nearly $4 for an entire slab of the stuff. Also the staff is super nice and helpful in case you have any gringo newbie cooking questions!"
"Quality/Quantity - This is the best Asian supermarket in this area. If you know another that is better, please message me!!Grocery & frozen - this is the main reason we come here. We stock up because in Reno, there are ZERO good Asian supermarkets.Produce is ripe, so it is good if you plan to eat them soon. Otherwise, shop at one of the national chain brands.Meat - Fresh and frozen; also great job having directions for a "line." In the past, it was who can scream the loudest that gets served first.Seafood is FRESH, and many live options.Deli is pretty much closed except for a very small selection of BBQ, see pictures.Atmosphere - Again, the best Asian supermarket in this area. And now with a new remodel of the produce expansion, sheltered outdoor produce area, etc., it made them even better.Well stocked, we can usually get 100% of what we want or need. Not sure if they have sales...? With our current lifestyle, we only buy what we need immediately.Overall clean.Plenty of mall parking.Don't expect a shopping cart in front, so grab one when you park.Usually they have security at the entrance.Open 7 days a week from 8:30am to 7pm.The entire mall is still going through a remodel (for 2+ years now).I believe they are also getting solar...?The entire mall is also going through some turnover; hoping for the best.Service - Do not expect service, similar to Home Depot, it is pretty much self service. It is best to know what you want and need, but you might get lucky and find a good employee every now and then.Price - Reasonable.Owner Suggestion - Not sure if it is the same ownership in Oakland...? If yes, congrats on your 2 locations. Some additions that might better your brand: Full deli? Website? Advertisement? Sales? Basic customer service - Greeting and thanking customers?"
"Supermercado La raza isn't as super as others. no taqueria, no panadena. they do have a meat/seafood section, a well stock mex/american beer section and some cheap pan mexicano and bakes(4/$1)buys:-modelo especial chelada ( w/ tomato & lime juice, salt)-2.99liked this better than the bud versioneven better than tecate with limes.didn't see microbrews, if any-pan mexicano (4/$1)ok, fresh tasting-helado ice bar, (cookies & cream) (.99)yummynotes:-didn't see parking lot, maybe in back-large store (eden market before), clean, -farmer's coffee available.-ok shopping for the area..."
"This is a store for meat eaters! Next time you're in Oakland, and you have a hankering to eat alligator, goat, rabbit, frog legs, venison, Hog head cheese or pork belly--this is a great place to check-out.I got some Chicken Boudin Sausage that they made fresh. It was delicious, and reasonably priced. Besides unusual meats, they carry the regular types that supermarkets carry. They alsipo have lower prices for bulk buying. However, I didn't notice organic meats or beef that is finished with grass instead of grain (that is my preference). That is why this isn't a place that I would usually shop. But the next time I want fresh Boudin Sausage or if I want something that is not available at a regular market--like alligator--I will definitely remember to go here!"

Visited Baron's today for some filet mignon to make shaken beef. Asked for 6oz filet and it was melt in your mouth with no fat. I redeemed my birthday reward and the guy at the register was super nice. will be back for sure

Just a warning that I purchased the galbi ribs and asked if it was marinated. The shop clerk said it was pre-marinated, but it totally does not taste like Korean galbi ribs. It is not properly marinated.

Definitely a 5 star meat place for me. I love halal meat and I can say I finally found my number 1 in east bay. Their front desk people are very friendly and no arrogance. Good job y'all.

Hands down the best place in Oakland to get your meats! Me and my bf were trying to figure out where to buy meat to bbq and heard good things about this place. We called in advance to ask about the meats. Unfortunately, they didn't have sliced brisket that we wanted, however the person on the phone (I think was the owner), suggested a meat that wasn't on the menu but would be great for bbqing. I believe he called it the hanger tenderloin, and it's something they were testing before putting it on the menu. It was around ~7.00$ per lb. We ended up getting 3 lbs of it, and wish we gotten more! We also got about a lb of sliced lamb, and 3 lbs of short ribs! The 3 lbs of hanger tenderloin, 1 lb of lamb, and 3lbs of short rib ended up being around 55$, which isn't too bad at all! This place did not disappoint, we'd definitely come back for more! Don't forget to bring cash because I believe its cash only!

Quintessential East San Jo Grocer. Very heavy lean on hispanic digs but I'd say also about the other 30% of the offerings here are legit Asian with a heavy lean on things Vietnamese. I stock my fridge and pantry with more things from places like this than say Safeway or Whole Foods, so I was a good fit for this place. The store is somewhat in the hood, there's a security guard up front all the time. The store is pretty big, bigger than most corner stores. This is probably the size of an old American grocery back in the day, when the Bay Area was about a third the size as it is today. The store is pretty clean and well stocked and I was able to easily spot some sweet ass deals. I have a side hustle in this area, so I'll pop in every 2 weeks or so and I usually leave with a nice sized bags worth of staples.I love their produce and meat counter here, much more ethnic in offerings. Asian greens, chiles of all sizes and heat, herbage and even a seasonal fruit or 2. Most great prices, beats both Safeway and 99 Ranch. Their meat counter is order by the piece or pound. Didn't see things pre-packaged so you will need an employee, which I actually find charming in an old school way. No big selection for things like steak (unless it is carne asada) but many things meant to get cooked low and slow, which is a very ethnic way to cook. So lots of meats for braising/stewing or even slow roasting, which is actually my preferred way to cook on most days. Huge offal area too, better and more thorough than anything I have in my local area. Definitely an old worlder's dream and an American suburbanites nightmare. Even though I live in the suburbs, I definitely live with more old world tendencies. The only part I didn't really care for over here was their seafood counter. Very sparse and looked a bit sketchy. Even an American grocery store had a more valid seafood section, and that's kinda saying a lot. But outside of that one knock, this place fits me quite well. I'll continue to shop here, as long as my travels keeps me in their path. A service that suits me well.

Smell of fried fish hits you when you walk in, not unpleasant at all, it smells great and it's cool they'll fry any fish you buy for free.88 has been around for maybe 1-2 years but it feels like it's been there for decades, they have cool packaged and canned goods from all over Asia and some Islander specific goods like Cassava and lamb shoulder. I would come for frozen and packaged stuff. The reason for the rating is I wish their seafood, meat, and produce vendors were better. I would not trust some of the stuff being sold here, especially after coming to grab strawberries for the kids and there was a huge moldy box right in the front row. If something like that is left there what goes un-noticed?They have a hilarious and sad "SHAME" list of shoplifters they printed out with dates and what they stole near checkout.I will continue coming here for sure to support them since they are the closest market to my bros apartment and will update this review if things change over time.

So, if I am going to pay more than $8 dollars a pound for arrachera - this is the ONLY place I will do it. The meat is so good, I called in the am and my dream of tacos was burst when they said they didn't have. I am nothing if not persistent so I called back later and they had some come in (late shipment)! Well, I had said 3 lbs but changed my mind to double that - and worth every dime. The prepared meat is so good. I also picked up some of their longaniza -that is my favorite, it's not fatty and the flavor is so good. You can grill it or cook it with eggs in the am!Overall, I am so happy to support this small business and the family is also happy with dinner.

"I found out about this place just by luck, also being a little hungry may have had something to do with it too. They have good quality cuts of meat here.Depending on your order some items can be a little pricey,I would gladly pay a couple of bucks more for fresh quality especially when your having company over to your house! I can't tell you how many times I've bought items only to bring them right back to the store for a refund or exchange.Great selection of fruits and vegetables, and frozen goods too.But you can get frozen stuff at Costco... meet your new butcher!"
"Love Weber Meats. So my mom asked Fudruckers where they got their burgers from. They told her Weber Meats in San Leandro . I was also told Foster Freeze gets their burgers here as well. When we have parties we like to pick up a box of 1/3 pound burger patties. Everyone always raves about them . I love their patties! Great quality, fresh and flavorful!"
"My dad really likes this place. It's across the street from "pill hill" on the telegraph side of the hill. They have been here for hella long but I have only been here a handful of times when giving in to my dad's request. They have a small grocery store side and a deli style cafe side. It is very popular with the EMTs and hospital staff. The staff seem very nice on the occasions that I have been there. The food is quick and healthy and it actually tastes good. So my concerns are that tables are not at clean as one would like matter of fact even the many of the other surfaces are no so clean. So just don't let your imagination wander about the things that the public can not see is all I am going to say. Other than that you can get a decent meal at a good priceOh also one last thing don't try to call ahead they never answer the phone"
"Yeyo's Meat Super Carniceria is definitely about the fresh meats sold at the 2 counters in the rear. most of the patrons end up here. Yeyo's is in the lot next to Carnitas El Rincon. Yeyo's is a very small grocery, space wise. no booze, limited prepped foods. aisles packed with Mexican groceries, some produce, some dairy, drinks. -limited parking at side and in front. Cardenas, a hedge fund owned Mexican grocery, isn't far from here. there was more shoppers here than i ever saw in Cardenas.: buys: Fritos: chorizo & chipotle artifically flavored corn chips (3.19)-made in Mexico, has dozens of chemical additives, at least a dozen dyes.-tastes fake, not healthy, labeled as such. owned by Pepsi."
"They are relatively new and fresh.I've been many times since it's local, an alternative to other chain grocery stores and everything is good. They have fresh produce/products and are moderately priced for some things. They have a ready made food are with tamales, ceviche, aguachilles and more. They have a butcher meat section with all the fresh meats. There is also a mexican restaurant with great food. The staff is friendly & helpful, I'm comfortable recommending them as a business and I'm here often.Cheers to good eats."
"Got some raw goat to go to make kuru fasuluye but also smartly got a goat biriyani to go as well. The biriyani is really good and really rich. I think they only have it on weekends. I bet you can put together a great catering order here."
"Had such a pleasant experience here. I looked everywhere around Castro Valley for fenugreek leaves and dried limes, and eventually found this place. It has allll the Sadaf spices, great Afghan and Armenian products-lebne, feta cheese, lavash, grape leaves, teas, olives, sweets! Not only did they have Greta products, but the man who was working was so incredibly kind. I will definitely come back :)"
"AIm is a meat specialist ala the markets in oaktown on san pablo ave. and nearby. u buy in volume and save $$, good quality poultry, meats, and fish.other groceries available too. came here for the beer. not much selection. more than SaveMax.brew: St. Ides Malt liquor (2) 8.2% alc.-probably a little pricey-brew almost smooth, not nasty tasting like King Cobra, etc.-haven't seen this brand in decades...takeouts:-roomy parking lot."
"Small but mighty. This above average Mexican grocery also features a taqueria that gets quite busy at lunchtime.I will stop in for pico de gallo, cilantro and green onions, and fruit. If I'm hungry, I'll grab a taco plate and an agua fresca (there's a coconut one here I love and never see anywhere else)."
"Wow, this butcher shop had the best customer service in person ever! Forgive me if I forgot your name, but I think it was Raul(?), who helped me with my meat purchase. Since it was my first time cooking prime rib, I was extremely nervous and intimidated. I've never cooked anything this big or expensive either, lol. Anyways, he gave me advice on how to prep the prime rib by adding salt to help retain moisture and types of seasoning on the meat. So that was very helpful! Lastly, I actually followed Food Wishes's Method X recipe on YouTube and it was a big success! Thanks for getting me a fresh piece from the fridge and tying it up as well, you're the best!!! Highly recommend their high quality meats :)"
"Date: 1/3/2021 Time: 2:30 PM 50° CloudyAfter a visit to Lucky Stores in search for some neckbones, which they did not have, I did a yelp search for meat markets that were in the area. The search resulted in several businesses. I chose Island Market Meat Department on High Street. I called them and yes, they had neck bones. Husband and I arrived there. Street parking in front of the market can be problematic. I haven't been in this neck of the wood for several years. The meat department is to the left of the entrance. The neckbones are fresh and $8.00 for four pounds. That's a deal. The butcher even cut them at no additional cost. First time here and I am thoroughly satisfied with the quality of the steaks, chops and the neckbones.I now know where I can get my fresh neckbones - Island Market Meat Department. They also have different meat packages posted on the wall, which brings me back to the memories of a meat department in this market that was on 20th & Telegraph Avenue in the late 70's, early 80's. Definitely there will be returned visits to this business."
"Got everything you need. Expect prices higher than normal stores but your are paying for halal. Their kitchen is actually priced pretty good. Service is normal and ambiance is dangerous. The most honest review for you and your momma!"
"Meatco is a great local retail shop for assorted frozen meats, they must be connected to the wholesale arm next door (retail entrance is on the corner).Has a selection of many different frozen meats and cuts for cheaper than anywhere else nearby! Totally worth it for lamb in soup, chicken wings or hotpot meat (lamb, beef). They close early though so get there on time and bring cash.Main reason for the review is the nicest couple running the place. The soup bones/meat is cut up nicely into cubes so super convenient at home without any additional work!Glad to have found this place."
"Attended an event in the area and a group of us decided to fire up the grill afterwards. Taylor's immediately was suggested. Located in Swan Market, a one stop shop for fresh sausages. With a variety of meats available, ask about any specific meats you are looking for not on display in the glass cooler such as beef, ribs and chicken. The service is great, with counter staff answering questions and providing suggestions. I enjoyed the Italian sausage most. Cooked well on the grill and great seasoning."
"Small butcher shop that sell chicken, duck, lamb, and quail eggs, frozen fish, many types of fish fillet. They also sell their signature hot tandoori marinade. The offal are sold here too like hearts, livers, spleen, and brains for exotic dishes. Ask the butcher how you want it cut for the meal you are cooking. No photography, video recording allowed. They don't want their employees to be in the pictures. Just check website and post card for updated prices and products sold. Customer service is 4/5.Ambiance, cleanliness of shop is 6/5. Its a new shop.Products sold are fresh, frozen and high-quality, so 5/5.I will come back to buy lamb for dishes that will make for family."
"Mom and pop shop hidden deli inside this little market. Ordered a hot pastrami and it was delicious, the sandwich was packed with meat and all the fixings, definitely beats the chained sandwich shops and by far the best sandwich around this little area up the hill."
"Convenient Asian grocery store for fresh produce, fruits and ingredients. It's located in the Arroyo Center, which is a small strip mall, right across from Arroyo High. There's plenty of parking. Pacific Ranch has very organized aisles and the different sections are laid out neatly. When I am unable to make a trip out to Oakland Chinatown for my groceries, I like to come here for specific ingredients to make Asian dishes. Safeway and Lucky's are good alternatives, but it's not the same. I prefer an Asian grocery store because they carry many different products that normal American grocery stores do not. There are several restaurants close by, so it's great to come here after a meal, to stroll around and do some shopping. I would highly recommend a visit to Pacific Ranch for your cooking or baking needs."
"I was recommended to this small family style market by my co-worker! They have good Halal chicken and lamb. ( even though I don't have any Halah preferences but it's nice that they are! ) Very fresh and tasty! Price is good too! Service was fast and the owner is very quiet but very nice! The butchers are very communicative too. I came back twice this week"
"It's a great addition to the Hayward and the east bay community! I love this local all halal shop near our home. Whenever we need quality meat and hard to find cuts, this spot is IT. We came here when they first opened and the owner was super friendly, talking to us and asking us questions. They also had little bags of their family owned organic basmati rice to give out as samples. We loved the rice too!We came here a few times already and got different kind of meat from chicken to beef. We love how the cows were just slaughtered the day before, so I know they haven't been sitting around for days. It's also a clean spot and I can tell they upkeep their hygiene. The prices are reasonable for the quality you're getting. You can definitely taste the quality after cooking them. I highly recommend checking it out!"
"Coconut Hill replaces Spencer's with the same meat availability plus indian groceries in a small, clean compact store, there are boxes in the small ailses, and a monitor sticking out from cashier's station. easy to bump into things while browing.offerings: fresh meats, groceries, produce, frozen ready to eat foods.buys: mung bean snack (2.29)-not a lot of selectionstake outs:-small parking lot.may be inadequate during rush hour biz.-just the basics, not a vast inventory."
"Great little local market. Stopped in to grab a few drinks when heading to a party near by. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our local friends say it is a great little market. Support the little guy, shops at Al's."
"This meat market has a big variety of fresh meat, poultry and fish along with local spice blends, pasta, and other condiments to use when cooking Store is clean Well organized and stockedPrices are reasonable Customer service is friendly Small private parking lot Deli makes sandwiches as wellHowever they stop making sandwiches at 5:30 Store closes at 6pm"
"Shelves are always well stocked. You can buy fish and the cook it for you! It's right in the middle of town for easy access to Asian ingredients vegetables, chicken feet, sauces etc."
