"This review is for Axol / Axel. He is the manager this sunday evening. Long story short I wasn't able to attend the dinner but still wanted to take care of the bill. He was able to provide a solution and took care of the party. Much appreciated. The party said he very accommodating and nice. Great service will always keep the guests coming back."

"The ambiance was nice with cool colored lights and many plans, it's a fun little spot to hangout. The service was courteous and friendly. 5/5Initially, the plan was just to grab drinks, but we ended up ordering the patatas bravas, which were tasty. We'll definitely return to try more of the food menu. 4/5However, the drinks were a bit difficult to enjoy due to their overly harsh flavors, which took a very long time to make. 1/5"
"A nice spot for casual Korean food!Came here on a Friday night and was surprised by how empty it is. We came for dinner and all of the tables were pretty much empty. It's also located in a less popular area so it is very accessible and parking is super easy. For drinks, we got the cocktail soju in peach! I like how strong they make the drink. Most places would dilute the cocktail in ice but they don't use any ice (I Lowkey wish they did though, because it would taste even better cold). One cocktail was more than enough for 2 people. For food, we got the chicken soy garlic wings, the pork belly kimchi fried rice, and the corn cheese. The chicken was amazing (10/10). The portion size is huge and the flavor is rly good. This was the highlight of the meal! The corn cheese is also big, but almost to a fault, because it is too much for 2 people to eat without it getting cold / too cheesy. We added it to the kimchi fried rice and it was a great combo together. The rice on its own was a little bland. For ambiance, the decor feels like a party spot but it's so empty. They also play kid movies in the background. The service was decent, we got our order taken quickly and the food was also fast to come out. This is a great place to try at least once!!"
"We went here for a Thursday Night Football game. First, I was happy there were plenty of 49ers fans. That's enough for 2 stars out of the gate. LolIt's not a big sports bar. It seemed to be more a local spot - comfortable, cozy, and relaxing. It could use an update in the furniture and A/V equipment, but we had a good time nonetheless. The bar area was a little crowded, and it took a while to get our drinks. But, the bartenders and wait staff were friendly and patient. The wings were good. I only wish people cooked them longer. They weren't raw, but I like mine more well done and wasn't around when we ordered. My bad !!! This is definitely a spot I would recommend and return to. My next visit, though, would be a normal Friday or Saturday night. It, maybe a Sunday to see how they handle games then. Until next time ......"
"Bf and I came here for lunch during an afternoon in Santana Row. The ambiance was upscale and calm, the service was quick, and it was easy to get a reservationHere's what we ordered:- chicken kulcha -- this kinda reminded me of the really good puffy bread from Elephante with some seasoned, ground chicken added in. It was delicious - paratha quesadillas -- this was a super creative concept and my favorite thing we ordered! - paneer / spinach ravioli with saag -- my bf loves saag so we ordered this but we didn't enjoy it too much. It felt like something was missing from the saag and the ravioli was alright, but still a cool concept I've never seen on a menu- butter chicken -- delicious, the chicken was so tender and flavorful, it was cooked well- raita -- good as well, was on the sweeter side - masala chaa -- delicious We're happy to have discovered an Indian restaurant with a great ambiance and food, and we will be back for sure!"

PROS:- The flavor was savory throughout all dishes.- Decent ventilation throughout the restaurant.CONS:- The service was very slow even though staff was running around. We sat for over 30 minutes after our meal was over just waiting for staff to bring us boxes and the check. If they could increase staff, I would bump my experience to a solid 4 stars.FAVORITES: - Tandoori mix was the star of the show. The clay roasted flavor was evident through all of the meats, which were all very tender!TIPS:- Be patient on the weekends. Service can be slow due to the crowds.- The tikka masala had a slightly unusual grittiness to it. It is unexpected and an acquired taste.OVERALL:- Food was delicious and savory but service was slow. Would go back again to try.

The Hotsy Totsy apparently is the favorite watering hole for locals, and I now see why. It's a very unassuming dive bar from the exterior, but surprisingly spacious and cozy in the inside, with plenty of seating available. Went for HH on a Tuesday, and it was surprisingly packed and busy inside already. Only 1 bartender working behind the bar the whole night, but she was incredibly efficient in taking orders and dishing out drinks. And we didn't have to try to flag her down for 20mins before getting her attention. Drinks were stiff and well made, CC is accepted without minimums, and patrons of all ages were friendly to interact with. I can now see what the appeal is, and why Hotsy Totsy has been around for so long!Pro-tip: Before or after your drinking adventures, be sure to hit up the cash-only taco truck behind the bar. They serve delicious tacos for $3/ea!

Review Time! I'm late to this, but here it goes. Since they have a bar, they card you at the entrance. Stepping inside, you're greeted by a dimly lit ambiance with vibrant accents, creating a cool and inviting atmosphere. I loved the decor and overall vibe. Our host and waitress were incredibly friendly, attentive, and engaging in conversation. They made us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in.The food was truly impressive! The menu is concise and changes seasonally, which initially made me a bit hesitant. However, I was blown away by the quality and flavor. This is a fantastic spot for a night out with friends or a romantic date. The beautiful decor and the music - a delightful mix of Afro-Caribbean, R&B, and hip-hop - created a truly enjoyable atmosphere.

Date: Thursday, September 19, 2024Time: around 6:30pmParty of: 2Meal: Drinks and Snacks*Truffle Fries ($12)*Fish Cake Soup ($18)*Soju ($12) x2A friend and I were getting takeout elsewhere in the plaza. Since there was a wait, we decided to stop by Danawa for a drink. I didn't realize until I walked in, but this used to be VIP Oriental. I have some found memories of that old place. There no other patrons when we got here, so we just sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of soju. For some reason, I always feel bad ordering one thing, so we got the fries as an app. A pretty big portion with a fair amount of truffle aroma. When my friend came back with our takeaway, the server was super sweet. She said we could eat it there. We didn't end up doing that (tho I did taste a few things), but we were here for a good two-ish hours. Ended up with the fish cake soup as well. They made it slightly spicy which made me happy. (I can't recall if I asked for it spicy? Probably since I do like my heat.) There was a good amount and variety of fish cakes. I really enjoyed this dish.Glad I ended up at this spot. End up being a fun chill dinner of sorts.REVIEW #3565

Our first time back since the pandemic and I made reservations and we went inside and the main outdoor area was busy as a large group just came in so the hostess suggested the side patio which was fine as there were 4 of us and we wanted to have a quiet dinner. One thing I noticed is that the servers did not wear face masks so it must be optional for the business. We order the fried calamari, the seafood pasta, the fish with cannelloni beans, bacon and spinach and the chicken fettuccine. All were hearty and delicious and our friends enjoyed the atmosphere and the weather was just right. Heat lamps were available but it was a balmy warm evening so there was no need for the lamps. It took awhile to get our appetizer and food but it was worth the wait.

This is an upscale Indian fusion restaurant with creative menu items. The interior is very beautiful and the service was very fast during our Thursday night dinner. We ordered:- Papdi Chaat Nachos: one of my favorite items, they're very generous with the toppings, the papdi chaat surprisingly stayed perfectly crispy so the texture was great - Reinvented Paneer Lababdaar: this was our favorite large dish, the flavors were really delicious and worked well with the giant piece of paneer on top- Chicken Butter Masala: not a dish that stood out to me, I wish I got a different dish to try instead- Garlic Naan: I've never had a bad garlic naan before, and this place is no exception- Basque Cheesecake: honestly the cheesecake was drier than I expected (I've personally baked better basque cheesecake), but the makhan malai foam it came with was the star for me, I've never had anything like it before and would love to have a bowl of itI probably won't be a regular, but I really loved the creativity here and would love to try other dishes on their extensive menu.

We had parked in a parking lot and heard music, so we followed the music, and were delightfully surprised to find The Dirty Bird Lounge. The security guys invited us in, they explained there was a DJ in the back patio, and Bachata dancers. We were welcomed to come in. Lovely outdoor patio. We headed inside to order our drinks happy hour.$16 bucks for two Margaritas, our waitress made incredible drinks, and was very delightful to talk to. The inside has plenty of seating, and rustic funky decor. There is street parking and a parking lot on the side to the back. They had TVs on with the Giants and the 49ers.!!

Have been here and ordered take out a few times at this point. Excellent Taiwanese food, relatively authentic flavors and offerings, plenty of items to choose from on the menu. The restaurant has a cool entry design and decor, and is a good place to bring a group for late night adventures (they open until 2:30 AM).For both dine-in and takeout, the staff seem overwhelmed and especially for delivery order, it takes extremely long even though the kitchen seems to be able to put out food pretty quickly. Some items were a miss but most of them were good. To me it's one of those places you just have to know what to order. Another slight complaint is that the restaurant is quite loud with music playing - although it is advertised that they have karaoke available, so maybe that's the vibe you want to go for when that is offered. We also raised a safety issue to the staff last time we visited, after sustaining a minor injury. The staff looked at the issue but did not offer any help or solution. Not a huge deal but does concern me a bit.

"Their happy hour is from 2pm - 7pm. I'll start with that! Cool spot for gathering with friends. The vibe is a mix of country meets, hipster but in Hayward. Tables accommodate large groups of 10 or more, or just two as in our case.HH drinks are $8. At first I silently protested, they should be $6. But when I had the margarita I understood the price point, the drinks are well made.* Pomegranate Margarita * Prickly Pear PalomaThe margarita was perfect. Well mixed and not sweet. The Paloma was good but included Mezcal, which I do enjoy but it would have been nice to know that it was a key ingredient, since it has such a strong flavor and aroma. Still good but fyi. So why 3 stars? The bathroom. It was like a bad scene change in a movie. I went from well how do bro, to gas station garage stop. The bathroom obviously didn't make the budget. Aside from that, cool spot for drinks and social time."
"Two of my sisters and I dined here yesterday for a birthday lunch. I always order the same menu item, ma po tofu over steamed rice. Other items ordered were fried chicken bento box, pork belly bento box, fried green beans and beef tongue. The beef tongue is good, but the beef tendon is better. We do miss Jessica who was our server in the past. It is taking us time to get used to the new server. He is okay. Conversation is in Mandarin, which I don't speak much of in that dialect.Since we come here quite often when we get together for lunch in Oakland Chinatown, I have decided to raise the restaurant to a five star.Definitely there will be more visits to Lounge Chinatown in the future."
"This is probably my favorite bar in Oakland. A very classy spot, with a nice ambiance and good drinks. The food options are limited, but are very good as well. They have an outdoor rooftop area with plenty of seating, and indoor seating as well. The entrance is somewhat inconspicuous on a side street, and the bar itself is on the second floor of the building. I highly recommend it for a fun night out."
"Excellent service best French fries in the world! The sliders wer also amazing fast friendly and accommodating service ."
"Nice hotel lobby spot for morning coffee and meetings. Sort of odd to call this out specifically but the overnight oats with fresh fruit were beyond fantastic in my opinion. Looking forward to staying at the Kissel next time I'm visiting Oakland."
"This review is solely based on the beef patties. They're so good I dream about them. I don't know what their secret is but their dough is super flaky. The filling is generous and really good! I actually ordered one to split with my boyfriend and that was a huge mistake. We ended up ordering several more. I've been here before, but whoever was working behind the bar today had exceptional customer service. I asked for a side of their orange pepper sauce which is amazing on the beef patties. I came back a second time and she remembered I like the orange sauce with it and packed it with my Togo order."
"Was looking for a place to chill before a show at the UC Theater and found this spot that was about a 5 minute walk from the venue! Wasn't expecting much, but was happily surprised once inside! Staff is friendly and lots of seating around Friday 8pm. It was giving speakeasy vibes with the back door that leads to the bathroom and self serve taproom! House cocktails were great, but I was blown away by the Tikka Masala fries - sooo saucy and good!! If I lived closer, I would come here just to order these fries for takeout haha"
"Came here for NYE dinner with a friend. We both ordered the prime rib. I let the waitress know that I also wanted to order something to-go, but that I would tell her later in the evening. She insisted I tell her now and she'd take care of it, and so I did. We were quickly served bread, and our food followed shortly after. The bread comes with a side of butter and balsamic+oil. The prime rib and the accompanying side dishes were perfectly cooked. The prime rib paired with the au jus was *chef's kiss*. For dessert, I ordered the famous mud pie, while my friend ordered the crème brûlée. The mud pie was okay. I was disappointed there wasn't a thicker crust. It was essentially a large plate of ice cream with whipped cream and fudge. The creme brûlée was also okay. It was made with white chocolate and would've been more well-balanced if it came with more fruit. Now here is the kicker. We get the bill and notice the to-go order was not on it. I tell our waitress and she goes to get it fixed. Well, it turns out she completely forgot to place the order and by then, the kitchen had already closed down. This is why I initially said i would personally let her know about my to-go item later, but she insisted I tell her at the beginning. Aside from a simple apology, there was no other attempt at service recovery. That food was meant to be a NYE meal for someone who now had to ring in the new year on an empty stomach. Not to mention, by that hour, it was impossible for me to find an appropriate alternative elsewhere. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I will not be coming back a second time."
