"The WORLD'S LARGEST mala tang chain is actually very tasty and worth every penny! I love the sweet and hearty tomato broth. It pairs really well with the various proteins and tofu.I definitely recommend loading up on the sliced beef, enoki, and the mochi tofu cakes! Soooo good. The veggies here were fresh and staff were frequently refilling ingredients too. It gets pretty busy around 6:30 PM, especially for takeout orders. This is a fun and customizable experience that I would recommend to anyone."
"This is great food in the tradition of California Chinese takeout. You can dine in (at least before pandemic) but the place is basic clean chill. Always service with a smile and quick."

"This is the perfect place for dinner or a light lunchWe had lunch a month ago and it was perfectChinese chicken salad, wonton soup and spring rolls.Everything was great including the service"
"Soldi 4.5 stars, rounding up for good service and reasonable price. Doesn't hurt that it's also in an ideal location near a bunch of desserts for afterwards. Came here with a group of 6, and we luckily beat the dinner rush by coming a bit before 6pm. The inside is kind of cramped, so it's a better fit for smaller parties unless you come earlier and take a lot of their tables to fix together a big one. Service was great - the guy gave good recommendations and told us if we pay in cash we can also each get a free drink from the ridge. Woohoo! We ordered a lot of things:- two types of fish with different bases (one crunchy fish, one is fillet)- chili oil beef - vegetables- dry pot It is unlimited rice but I only needed 1 bowl. The portion was more generous compared to the other fish place (Wei's fish?) and the flavor was more flavorful. Even though my stomach suffered the next day because of the spice, but it was so worth it.I would come here again! So affordable and delicious."
"King Kong BBQ Restaurant serves up authentic Chinese foods that are delicious and in good portions. Strong points include: good food, good portions, and they do their own deliveries. I can't find anything negative to say about my experience. On a Saturday, I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup, Fried Prawns, and Mu Shu Pork. Good Food, Grade (5/5). I'm 3rd Generation ABC, and this food is the way traditional chinese food is supposed to taste! The Wor Won Soup was excellent with plump dumplings, bok choy, bbq pork strips and tender chicken. The Fried Prawns were plump and moist. The Mu Shu Pork was a generous serving, seasoned well and not salty. Another key point is the prices are reasonable. The Wor Won Ton Soup is under $10, and that container was packed. I scheduled this delivery thru GrubHub. Since the restaurant does it's own delivery, there's no extra delivery fees. I setup my delivery for 4pm, and it arrived early. Good food, and I will order again!"
"This restaurant took over what was Chef Us; or maybe the business model just changed? The furniture and layout is pretty much identical. Not a bad thing. It's a pretty roomy layout. One thing a bit off-putting though is they only use disposable bowls and utensils. And the bowls are the compostable ones so rice tends to stick to it. We ordered this combo meal which came with 4 dishes.- Leshan beef soup: pretty good. Beef had nice smooth texture. Came with a side of spices to dip if you like spicy. The soup itself was ok. Lots of cilantro and scallions. - pork belly: pretty good. Hard to go wrong with pork belly though - fish with sour veggie: it was ok. The fish had a bit of muddy taste, but the sour veggies masked it. - stir fried bok choy: decent but nothing special. It was a bit spicy though since there's some spicy oil. Overall, I'd say it's worth a try but I don't think we left being so impressed that we would return. We did try to stay away from spicy dishes though since we had kids. So maybe their spicy dishes are more impressive. We did see most tables next to us eating noodles."
"I came here with my boyfriend to have early lunch and I want to say this is probably the best hu tieu place I've ever had . Service was amazing, friendly, and fast. Super cozy inside. They were very attentive to their customer. Would definitely come back !!"
"Green onion pancake and the stuffed chive pancake were underwhelming. There's no seasoning/salt so it just tasted like raw dough. I agree it is not crispy like how restaurants make cong you bing (or how I make it at home), but maybe their style is to make it more doughy. I would not reorder these and sadly, I'll have to just toss them because they taste wrong to me. I will not rate these because I think they had an off day (everyone raved about the chive pancake) and maybe their style is just doughy. Fan Tuan (rice burrito) and you tiao (Chinese donut) hit the spot. I agree the fan tuan is a little wet. I thought the rice ratio to filling was good/normal. 4/5Service - I can't speak mandarin well so they were accommodating. They did offer other goods they sold to see if I would be interested. I didn't interpret this as being pushy. I thought they were polite and just doing business :)"
"Let's start with the good.I ordered delivery and wanted to give this spot a try. The prices were good so I'd say why not. I ordered the beef broccoli, shrimp fried rice, vegetable shrimp and chicken curry with two egg rolls. The portions are grand. The vegetables were fresh, and the egg rolls were good. The potatoes had the perfect texture for curry. That's about it. To me, this meal lacked flavor. If anything, I at least expected for the chicken curry to have the most flavor, but even that severely lacked which was disappointing because it was made perfectly. The fried rice was undercooked which led me to rate the meal overall as a 2. I finished most of my vegetables and some of the potatoes but everything else was basically left untouched. About half went to waste."
"Great Hawaiian flavors and addictive macaroni salad. When I am craving Hawaiian bbq, I drive straight to Mahalo and pass several restaurants on the way there. The staff is extremely friendly and get excited when I order.Mahalo staff has a passion for Hawaiian food and it shows in the flavors they serve."
"Easily the top Chinese restaurant in the area. Always go to here when I shop at the outlets.Yunnan Rice Noodle is a must. The flavor is amazing with authentic & fresh ingredients.I also ordered the beef jerky, mushrooms and pig ears. Delicious!Service is good and environment is clean and modern. Good for a variety of occasions."
"Definitely Taiwanese comfort food! I've been coming here since two previous owners and I was basically in a high chair (so about since 20 years ago). We'd get take out at home and I have memories of being fed the Taiwanese beef noodle soup while my dad calls the noodles "Rapunzel" because of how long they are. Over the years the noodle soup has changed from having less dried chili, having less fatty beef shank pieces, and also changing the bok choy to spinach. However, I still believe this Taiwanese beef noodle soup is the best you can get in the area. Its charm is definitely the Szechuan beef noodle soup! However, if you're interested in family style rice and sides, my favorite is general tofu, San bei ji (three cup chicken), and xiao dou miao."

I love all the variety of ingredients here that you can throw into your bowl. This is like hotpot but they cook it for you. The way pricing works is that they weigh the amount of ingredients that you choose. There is a minimum of getting 0.8 lbs. There are many different types of broths and some are priced differently. My favorite is the classic beef bone broth with mild spice. It's so flavorful and delicious. Service is quick too. I am never able to finish my entire bowl so I pack the leftovers, heat up the soup for my next meal and toss in more veggies. The plaza can be pretty packed and there is even a short wait for weekday lunches. Tables are very close together and I don't think it would be too great of a place for large groups (such as groups of 5 or more). Most tables are designed for 1-2 people.

Hot & sour soup is sooooo goooooddddEverything else is very meh. I've eaten here several times since I live in the neighborhood but it is really cheap, has good turnover (food always seems fresh, people are always coming in & out)

I've been a regular at Hongs for quite a few years now. Hongs is one of those classic restaurants that endures. The funny part is it doesn't look like those classic restaurants with bright red and gold decor. The interior is so tastefully decorated it's positively Zen. The service has always been and today was no exception superb.I was curious if today's inflation had made much impact on the menu. The dinner menu clearly showed some noticeable increases, some high enough that I probably wouldn't order it. The dinner menu came with enough sides that it would clearly be too much food for me. The lunch menu, someone had fought to keep prices close to $20.I ordered the Szechuan chicken from the lunch menu. The quantities were pretty impressive. I was full halfway through the meal but I knew I had a long day ahead and just ate the whole thing. The sauce was a blend of hot and sweet, it was a little too sweet for me, but then I eat so little sugar everything tastes really sweet to me. I was a little surprised that the chili sauce was barely hotter than the Szechuan chicken and so it kind of made the dish more oily instead of hotter. The fried rice was absolutely astounding. There seemed to be no oil anywhere. Very healthy. Sigh, but not very classic. Overall I thought the lunch menu was really reasonably priced given the amount of food. For me, eating at Hong's is a chance to eat restaurant staples that I ate as a kid. Although, I would chose to interpret my memories differently (fried rice needs to be oily!) Hong's got enough right that I'm happy.

Great food, great service. The workers were all super friendly. The waitress even gave us spicy powder on the side just because we were inquiring about whether or not there's a spicy version for the beef soup. We got the two dishes that was marked #1 recommended (one fish + one beef). The beef soup was very good/flavorful so we didn't add spicy powder. The waiter is also observant - he knew that we wanted a refill of the rice before we even said anything. Portion size was pretty big. We got two small, but that was enough to be 5 individual meals (with rice/noodle added).I liked how diverse their menu option is. There are plenty of non-fish item for those who were curious. They also have different soup options available. This was the first restaurant in the Bay Area that I saw offering unlimited noodle refills (for dine in only). We drove all the way to south San Jose (40 min because we were up north) to find out the restaurant we wanted was closing earlier than the time stated, so we had to made some last minute pivot. We arrived here around 3pm, and while the restaurant wasn't full, they were still pretty busy. There were a steady stream of takeout orders & at least 3 or 4 tables there throughout the time we were there.

I got some food to go for the first time from this restaurant. I decided to go all vegetarian and got sweet-and-sour tofu, Chinese, broccoli, with garlic, and garlic noodles. I was very pleased with everything. I wish I would have taken pictures. I have been craving sweet and sour for a long time, but did not want to get pork. The tofu was delectable and hit the spot. Very generous portions.

So this seems to be a Mission Chinese scenario in reverse. Mission Chinese was inside another restaurant with no signage initially. Well Leshan Beef has taken over the space of ChefUs but the latter is still running out of their kitchen? Wacky.I didn't have a stellar experience at ChefUS and I'm glad they decided to make a more traditional restaurant instead addition to their ghost kitchen/.takeaway business. Now I had no idea where Leshan was not anything about the food . Apparently neither did my Chinese friend. So seeing the grand opening sign we went in. Turns out it is a region adjacent to Sichuan and I guess they love all parts of the cow. So we tried the thinly sliced beef, beef tongue and a combo of tendon/tripe. The dishes all come in a beef broth with herbs and cabbage. Conceptually it is kind of like pho but different spices in the broth. In fact the tripe tendon one was very similar to a pho sans noodles but with cabbage so it was good but not special. The thin beef and tongue however were fantastic. The cook on those where were stellar. The soup comes with this orange spice mix to season to taste. We also got the pork special noodles which is somewhat adjacent to a tan tan noodles and it was also very tasty. It turns out the owner is Sichuanese and decided to make a restaurant that was slightly more unique. She was super nice and gave us some of the base soup to taste. I'd definitely come back again to try the other Leshan specialties. Glad they took something that was just ok and created something much tastier 4.3 stars

This place surprised me! Their hu tieu is easily one of the best ones I've had in the bay area. It was well seasoned and came with a nice amount of proteins. The portions are great for the price. I love the bone that comes with the dry version. 4 stars because there were some flies that kept landing on the table and service is non existent (but that's how you know the food is good). They came to take our order 5 seconds after giving us the menu lol. The restaurant has their own parking lot.

The food at Jenny's kitchen is tasty but I sometimes I'm in the mood for something but it isn't available. Their model is definitely not catering to people who come craving something specific but there is usually something that I can find to fill me up. I do wish it were more English -friendly because sometimes I am not sure what a dish is and nobody can explain it. I love the Chinese spinach buns!

"After more than 31 years, the previous owners of the Tea Garden have retired. There are new owners now. I have been patronizing the Tea Garden for about 31 years (and it was opened before that). I was saddened to learn of their retirement, but was fearing that it might happen. Over the past several weeks there has been no answer on the phone when I called to place an order. Yesterday when I called the phone was answered by someone new. I tried to order several dishes that I have enjoyed for years and are no longer being offered. So, I went to the location to see the new menu. There are no longer any dine-in tables in the restaurant (but hardly anyone used them before, it was primarily a take out place). Ordering is done on a tablet on the counter (or online at 4083560022.com). A Staff person assisted me with my order, entering the items on the tablet. The menu is extremely reduced compared to the original menu. (I attached a copy of the complete new (2024.0504) single page menu and also the original owner's recent menu (on 2022.0930) two pages).I decided to try two dishes: Chow Mein with pork, chicken, beef, and shrimp ($13.95) and Fish Filet in Black Bean Sauce ($12.95).My wife felt that the chow mein could have been a little bit more seasoned and sauced. She felt that it was a bit bland and had to add plum sauce to it at home.I thought that the Fish was good. It was tender with many pieces of fish and vegetables (including green and red bell peppers) in a tasty slightly salty sauce. We will have to try several other dishes to form our conclusion.I wish that they had adopted the recipes of the original Tea Garden, which were great.Note that the hours have changed. They are now Monday - Sunday 11am to 7:30pm (as shown on their printed menu)"
"Food is authentic. But a bit in the salty side. Tell them to keep it on lower side. It's a hole in the wall really and will take time to improve to a level where it's for even. I came here second time. So worth a try."
"This restaurant doesn't just serve food--it serves full-blown, toe-curling pleasure on a plate. The hand-pulled sesame noodles? Thick, chewy, and dripping in a nutty, velvety sauce that glides over your tongue like a well-practiced lover. One bite, and suddenly, you're making noises usually reserved for the bedroom. Then comes the Shandong chicken, golden and crispy on the outside, juicy and tender underneath, with a sauce so tangy and addictive it should come with a safe word. And let's talk about the Mongolian beef--caramelized, smoky, melt-in-your-mouth tender. It doesn't just satisfy--it ruins you for all other beef. Every bite is a tease, every dish leaves you wanting more, and by the end, you're slumped in your seat, breathless, disheveled, and deeply, deeply satisfied. If food could give aftercare, this place would tuck you in and whisper, "Was it good for you too?""
"Yes, the owner's son is Jon Chu, director of movies like Crazy Rich Asians and more recently Wicked. It's been a popular Chinese restaurant far before Jon's directing career though. They have a wall of pictures of celebrities/politicians who've ate here previously. Justin Bieber, Serena Williams, Jeremy Lin, The Bush family, also apparently Margaret Thatcher ate here (damn, she ate this food and still managed to destroy UK's industry? hey-ooo)I was afraid that this restaurant was going to be too westernized, but I think they do a good job of striking a balance between western and Chinese authentic taste. Most of the food was delicious, though the Mongolian Beef didn't taste that great. That's usually one of my go-tos when trying to determine a Chinese restaurant's chops.Parking can be challenging though they have additional parking at a private lot down the neighborhood road and is a mild walk to and from the restaurant. It's a 3.5 but rounded down for me, the service was kinda meh and all the seating arrangements were very tight and crammed."
"Ordered beef noodle soup. The noodle soup is amazing! Don't add the seaweed to your soup. It adds a weird taste to the soup."
"This place is a great. All the food was fresh and the flavors were on point. We got a few plant forward dishes. They were flavorful and pretty to look at. We walked out feeling satisfied and healthy."
"Darda Seafood is hands down one of the best spots for flavorful Chinese and hala cuisine in the Bay Area. Every time I come here, I know I'm getting bold flavors, generous portions, and consistently good food. Some of my go-to dishes are the cumin lamb, which is perfectly seasoned and packed with spice, the walnut shrimp that's crispy, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet, and the hot & sour soup that's always on point--tangy, spicy, and comforting. The sautéed green beans are a simple but solid side, and the salt & pepper fish is light, crispy, and full of flavor.Beyond my favorites, I've seen a lot of love for the orange chicken, and even the complimentary Chinese tea gets a mention in reviews. The food is always solid, but the service can be hit or miss--it's fast and efficient, but don't expect a ton of warmth. The place gets busy, so timing your visit can make a difference. If you're looking for a great halal-friendly Chinese restaurant that delivers on taste, Darda is the spot. Definitely worth it."
"I was on yelp looking for a good Chinese food place to have dinner at. I have my to go place but it's a bit of a drive so I was looking for something closer. I felt adventurous lol I saw Sweet Mango which had excellent reviews so I decided to give it a try! It is located in the willow glen area but not on the Main Street which was nice. They have their own parking lot which is a plus! Let's get down to the food and service.Walking in, we were greeted immediately and sat down with no wait which was super cool. Their menus (forgot to take a picture smh) is on the older side with some pictures but looks like it can use some TLC. This is what we decided to try:War won ton soup (not pictured) : 8/10Soup flavor was good but both my fiancé and my daughter said the actual wonton had a salty taste almost like a salami. I liked it though! Veggies tasted good and the broth was delicious. Perfect for a cold night!Pot stickers (not pictured): 8/10They were cooked very nicely but the sauce they came with was some what on the sweet side so not sure how I felt about that. My daughter and fiancé loved them though.Honey walnut shrimp: 7/10The cooking on the shrimps were all over the place here lol flavor was good but some shrimps had more breading, some were over cooked for my liking and some were perfect. Still very yummy.Combo Chinese fried rice: 9/10This was one of my favorite things! Btw I love fried rice haha. It had big shrimps and other proteins in here and it was cooked really delicious. I like chili oil with my rice and I'm surprised because these tables had nothing on them. No siracha, no soy, no chili oil so I was bummed. I asked towards the end so that's why I docked it a point. So good though!Chicken kung pao: 6/10This was probably my least fav thing. Not because of the flavor, but because of the execution of the dish itself. The chicken was cut way too small for my liking and the veggies were humongous. The flavor was there just wish it was a bit more spicy.Service: 8/10Service was super cool. I wish we were offered chili oil and other things for our food so I will dock that but they were for the most part attentive. Once we received the chili oil, it looked super old and it was on the darker side when I poured it over my rice. I will say that it had a good taste but I feel like that's been sitting for a whileOverall, this place was not bad. I will stick to my regular spot though but I might give them another try in the near future and try other dishes again."
"Full and nicely presented foods in steam table. Friendly, thoughtful and accurate service. Prices in line with other similar restaurants. Clean and good seating that is roomy and comfortable. Very nice atmosphere and kept up appearance. I was here for my first visit yesterday, 1/6//24. I recommend Frannies Express. It's on Mission Blvd between EcoThrift and Harder Road."
"One of the best spots for Cantonese food in the South Bay. As someone who grew up in Southern California, I was definitely spoiled with great Cantonese food. Since moving to the Bay, I've been on the hunt for a comparable spot, and I'm so glad to say that Asia Village is it! I stopped by on a Friday night around 6:45 PM and the restaurant was quite full, just a few empty tables. It's a smaller place, but it definitely feels cozy. By the time I left, there were some parties waiting. All the Cantonese being spoken really made me feel at home too. Service is typical for what you'd expect at a Chinese restaurant. For my party of two, we ordered the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, Sichuan Dry Fried String Beans, and Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice. They also let us know that if you order three dishes, you get a free drink, so we went for a hot lemon honey tea, which wasn't too sweet! Other reviewers were definitely right when they said Asia Village's food isn't as oily - it's still super flavorful without being drenched in oil. Salt and Pepper Pork Chops were fried to perfection and the crispy garlic on top was a nice touch. The Sichuan Dry Fried String Beans were seasoned well and the beans were cooked well. Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice was generous with the salted fish, which is usually not the case at other spots! At the end, they also gave us two bowls of red bean soup for dessert. Price wise, it was around $53 before tip, which is pretty comparable to other Cantonese spots around here. I would absolutely come back and encourage you to as well if you're looking for a great place for Cantonese classics."
"First visit to this Chinese Bakery and Deli,5 Stars for the entire takeout experience!Great value and tasty pastries.Arrived around 9:30am on a weekday. They open at 7amConvenient location in San Leandro, CABakery accepts Cash and Cards.Fully stocked displays at the time I arrived. My Short line and wait went quickly.Pastries still warm, just came out from kitchen.Ate an Egg tart after leaving store, delicious! One, two, three, four, FIVE Stars!I approve this rating, Jay M."
"this restaurant has been in Pleasanton for many years and it is my favorite Chinese food restaurant. My favorite dishes are the lemon chicken and the sweet-and-sour pork. I also like the honey walnut prawns. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Chinese art pieces. It is a nice and pleasant seating type of restaurant. It is also good for takeout however, I personally do not like the plastic containers that they use because the food sweats so my recommendation is that if you pick up your food, you may want to crack open the lids so that the steam can escape and your food can still be crunchy when you get home."
"You want some amazing pho in berkley? Well, look no further friend, you found em! We were looking for some pho to warm us up and we looked it up... we found pho tasty on yelp and we have no regrets. The servings are amazing. I ordered a small as seen I'm the photo and it filled me up for sure. Everything was great service was direct, polite and fast. Thr good came out fast. Parking is kinda challenging here but on general that is Berkeley, am I right? Thr tables are clean, there is some nice background music that allows you to converse wjtb your date. There is enough space for large parties. Come out here! You will leave with a full tummy and a smile on your face."
"Over the years I've tried different Yunnan rice noodles and in the previous experiences it was not my preferred meal. Ten Seconds Yunnan Noodles opened in the Olferts Center and takes the place of the seafood boil restaurant. We went for a late lunch, there were only two other patrons dining. We ordered the Takoyaki which was actually quite good. Two different Yunnan noodle broths Hot and Sour Pickled Peppers broth and the pork bone broth. Each of the noodle orders come with a bunch tiny toppings. IMHO everything could have been dumped into the hot broth and served. The major difference in the quality and taste of Yunnan noodles is the broth. Ten Second Yunnan has upped my opinion of Yunnan noodles. Service is good. Plenty of parking."
"We have ordered from China Best Restaurant about 3x or so. 2x for lunch and 1x for dinner. By far, the food at lunch was SO much better aka fresh and we enjoyed the combos, which included plain chow mein noodles and rice. The Lemon Chicken and Green Onion and Ginger Chicken were cooked well and had great flavor without being overly salty. Now their dinner was an entirely different story. The Salt and Pepper Pork was horrible. The meat tasted old, gamey, and was the worst that we've had as this is our go-to dish. No amount of breading or salt could save it and the portions were large and no leftovers were eaten. The potatoes in the Curry Chicken were sliced thin and were too al dente for my liking, but others might like it this way. The flavors weren't bad but felt disjointed. The Beef Chow Fun was fine. Would we get food from here again? Still debating as prices were good for the portions, but if so, it would only be for lunch."
"This is walking distance so it's our regular Chinese takeout spot. I only started coming here post COVID so I can't even picture how it used to be a sit down restaurant. These days, they serve to go orders only and it's quick and convenient. Not to mention tasty. Our go tos include the Peking pork chops, fried tofu and fresh veggies, spicy garlic eggplant and their hot and sour soup. All their veggies are always fresh and cooked perfectly. You can order online or call in your order and it'll be ready in 15 minutes, every time. Prices are reasonable and they also offer lunch specials on weekdays, although it's usually heavy on the rice. All in all, a really solid spot that we hope stays around for a long time."
"This place brings me back to China. Anyone has spent any significant time in China will recognize the flavors as being authenticEven the novice will register that it is delicious without having to process it too much. We tried the chicken noodles, sauteed chrysanthemum leaves, beef non spicy soup, and the Liang pi. So fricken good. The non spicy beef soup base is clean and subtle. The others will hit you with flavor like a ton of bricks. It's spicy but not Indian food spicy. It's manageable. All their noodles are handpulled. Can't go wrong. Pro tip: it's a QR code menu. 4g network is terrible so sign into the wifi first. The password is under the QRcode. If you have an android, select the Chinese text and it was ask you if you want to translate it for you. You're welcome..."
"XLBs and pan fried buns are good. Eggplant was crispy and has nice glaze. Cucumber salad on the sweet side. Would skip beef noodle soup next time. Broth is unremarkable. Service was good. Clean."
"I rarely go to a restaurant twice within a few months as we are spoilt for choices in the bayarea. But I had a hankering for the black pepper chowmein, so we made our way back here. In addition to the chowmein I also wanted to try some eggplant dish and we were suggested to get the basil eggplant. So here is the rundown of the dishes we tried this time- Black pepper chowmein- 5/5- I came back here just for this dish. It's really good. Definitely get this!!!Basil eggplant-5/5- another epic dish. Definitely ranks high on the best eggplant dishes I ever had. Not spicy but very savory without any sweet notes. It came with tofu as well which was equally delectable.Veggie fried rice- 4/5- delicious but very oily. There was no need for so much oil in this dish. Hopefully they take this feedback and work on improving it.Organic chicken salad- 4/5- my younger one wanted this. It came with a bunch of greens topped with lots of crispy wonton skins, fried "chicken" pieces and some dressing on the side. It was surprisingly good as the elements worked together cohesively.Vegetarian wonton with chilli oil- 4/5- another solid dish, the wontons were topped with some peanut sauce. It was a tad bit sweet, though I don't prefer sweetness in my savory dishes this was great as well. It's a very cosy little mom and pop style restaurant. I highly recommend giving them a try. I can assure you, you won't miss meat."
"I have been coming here since I was a little girl. Started off at the other location. Was so happy when they moved to this location, which was literally around the corner from where I lived. The owner knew of my family since we would frequent this place, especially after church. She would always ask about my brother, which I think is so thoughtful.I love, love, loooooveee their chicken fried rice. I would always get it as a kid, and will continue to order it. It has always been so flavorful, huge chunks of chicken which I've never experienced elsewhere.I love their beef & broccoli.Took my husband here for the first time since he's been in California, and he loves their sesame chicken."
"I'm a bit surprised the ratings are so low here. This is one time I don't agree with the Yelp fam. I guess the past reviews were based on when they first opened and they were just starting up.The food here was delicious. Everything ordered was just right with great taste. Out of the 4 dishes, the Shanghai stir fry shrimp was the best. The shrimp were cooked just right and there was something unique tasting to my palette, with the right balance of savory and fresh-tasting ingredients. The Shanghai fried rice, duck and crispy pork intestine were also exceptional. The intestine was super crispy and did not have a strong taste. The fresh and spicy garlic complemented this dish very nicely. I had a fresh plum juice as well, which was refreshing and tart for dinner.I like how they have one-time use chopstick tips. The menu ordering is done through an iPad. For a Friday night, they were busy and we had to flag down the waiters. The ambience and decor inside pairs well with the authentic Chinese flavors. The service was great. Shoutouts to the waiter who saw me taking pictures and helped me with the lighting for the shrimp photos."
"I was looking for a place to feed a family of 15 for my birthday dinner, and Hula Wokn was the best choice. I ordered way too much food, their family meal for 10 would have been more than enough, but we had 5 kids and a non meat eater. I got the bbq chicken, bbq beef and Katsu chicken with a side of white rice and mac salad. I ordered Spam musubi, a side of short ribs and a side of shrimp. The shrimp was actually a meal and came with rice and more Mac salad. Highly recommend the bbq chicken and steak, both had really good marinades and flavor. The Katsu was a hit amongst the kids. The dipping sauce that came with it left us all wanting more. My mom forgot to pack it with the leftovers, I was so bummed. I want to go back and try their other items, they have a whole Chinese menu too."
