It made the dining all the more!!! They asked about allergies and made little jokes to make us laugh and smile! Sooo sweet n kind! The place has a lot of seating options, including outside! The parking is literally outside the back door, so you can easily enter the restaurant. The restrooms are clean and sanitary!Burma Superstar, I will be back and love everything about this eatery!!!!

Pros: Food was great. Best Burmese food anywhere around. Service was okay, the restaurant isn't that big, food came out super quick. Sweet and spicy chicken and Walnut shrimp were fresh, hot, good quality, excellent flavorInside was clean Workers were friendly Cons: Small portions and pricey. Not necessarily overpriced considering the quality but it's still expensive. You have to order rice separately and it's another $6They forgot one of our dishes so one person ate after everyone else was finishedThey offered us an extra bowl of rice but took the old bowl of rice. Seemed so weird5 stars if it was more affordable and the order came out correct

The OG of Burmese restaurants - eating at one of their three Bay Area locations is a treat. I met a former colleague here for lunch today, and we sat outdoors as there was no space indoors. There was noisy construction on Park Street but we managed to converse without yelling. I ordered a Burmese milk tea and the pork curry lunch special, he got the mango chicken with garlic noodles. The food arrived in about 15 minutes - the salad served with my curry was delightfully crunchy, and the coconut rice was perfectly cooked. The curry was flavorful without being overpowering, and had a couple of pieces of potato in addition to the pork, which were a pleasant surprise. My colleague enjoyed his food as well, polishing it off well before I did. Service was friendly and attentive. There was only one unisex bathroom but it was clean. Parking was a challenge - but I managed to find a spot on the street a couple of blocks away. Will be back en famille!

My husband and I went here for lunch when it opened on a Monday and it filled up quickly! Very kind waitstaff that let me use the restroom before it opened (after I was denied by the Starbucks down the street due to their new policy). AsI made my way to the restroom down the hall I passed the kitchen and it smelled divinely of freshly brewed tea. I was impressed of the cleanliness of its interiors and one of the workers was even wiping down the outside podium before it opened to customers. We ordered from the lunch menu and I got half a tea leaf salad and a small bowl of samosa soup. The perfect portion for me of my two favorite Burmese dishes (And vegetarian too!). My husband enjoyed the chili lamb lunch special which also came with a simple side salad. Big windows let in lots of light, not too loud as people chatted, the food was fresh/delicious. An overall good experience!

First experience with Burma food! Everything was so delicious. We started with the tea leaf salad and it was yummy! It's very crunchy which I enjoy. We got the vegetarian platha and dip which was also so yummy. We saved the dip and poured that over side of coconut rice- so good! For entrees we had the spicy and crunchy chicken and that was highlight of menu so delicious and seasoned so well! Very saucy! We also tried the spicy noodles with chicken and that was also good. We tried the drinks very tasty! The service was great as well very attentive. We quickly got sat outside by a heat lamp and enjoyed the ambiance outside.

I've been here a couple times when meeting a friend in Alameda. It's a unique spot with a creative menu. I've tried the pumpkin chicken stew and most recently the Burmese chicken salad. Both were flavorful and were a decent size. We got the hot tea the last time and it was very good. It had a great flavor that needed no honey (none was offered either). The prices are a bit high but it's expected for downtown Alameda. Parking can be difficult but there are a couple close public lots. The interior is cute inside and isn't very big so when it gets busy, they fill up quick. Overall, it's a fun location to come to and experience different food options.

My friend & I came here on a Friday night for dinner and it was about a 30 minute wait. If there is a wait, you can add yourself on the waitlist through the iPad. We sat outside and luckily the heat lamps were on and it was warm enough for us. We ordered the tea leaf salad, mango chicken, and the garlic noodle with pork belly. They mix the tea leaf salad for you if you'd like. The tea leaf salad was good! The mango chicken was good as well, the chicken had a little spice and the mango was sweet and yummy. The garlic noodle with pork belly was okay. The noodle was a bit bland so we asked for some spicy sauce to add a little kick/flavor to it. We also ordered two coconut rice on the side and it was sweet. Service was fine too! There is only street parking.

Excellent food! Great atmosphere and service!Landed at Oakland airport after a 5+hrs flight with no actual meal served left us a big hangry, so a delicious meal was my priority after landed. Looking at all the pictures from here prior to landing, I knew we just have to give them a visit. We arrived at dinner and the restaurant looked pretty busy both indoor and on the patio, but to our surprised, we were quickly seated. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started off with the Tea Leaf Salad (of course lol), Platha & Dip, and Samosas. The Tea Leaf Salad was the best one we have had! It's a texture and flavor party in your mouth. Packed with so much of everything, but not overwhelming. We all loved the Platha& Dip, including our toddler. It was so good that we ordered a 2nd. The Samosas was good, but nothing special. For entrees, we went with the Ginger Chili Pork, Garlic Noodle with Chicken, and a side of Coconut Rice. Good thing we pretty stuffed ourselves with the appetizers, cuz the entrees were a bit let down. The only dish we really liked was the Ginger Chili Pork. Both the Garlic Noodle and Coconut Rice were weirdly sweet. Luckily, their entree portion was big enough that we had a tons of left over for the next day from just the Ginger Chili Pork alone. The rest we didn't care for much.Overall, we would come back here again if we are in the area. Just have to make a note and ask our server which dishes that tend to be a bit sweet to avoid next time.

Such a cute restaurant with some interesting decorations. The food is amazinggg. The service was decently attentive. To start, we got the jasmine honey tea and platha and dip (coconut curry). Soo refreshing and deliiiish. We got the coconut rice with pumpkin curry and tofu and string beans. Literally too good for words! I just have a feeling I willl be craving this a little too often, i definitely want to explore the menu more but we definitely did some damage!

Although this store may be my first time having Burmese cuisine, this restaurant's reviews definitely makes it overhyped. Parking is plentiful in the garage within the block of Alameda theater. I ordered a Burmese style beef (curry) and a Mohinga. The beef curry was decent at best, but I was surprised there weren't any vegetables, or anything, other than meat! Although it's advertised as "burmese" curry, it tastes similar to the curry I make at home, and the ones at Japanese restaurants. At $25, this dish really felt overpriced for essentially a beef and rice combo. The Mohinga was also pretty average. It had a singular piece of catfish in the soup, and was mostly comprised of noodles. Like many other reviewers said, the broth was oily and is decent at best. I wouldn't recommend this dish and rather stick with something safer, especially if you're not familiar with it. The mae sae iced tea sounds very "exotic" if you will, but it's just thai tea mixed with some alcohol. I would not recommend ordering this as the flavor feels easy to replicate at home. Service was okay, but we definitely felt a little rushed given we came on a weekend night.
