Our new favorite local chinese restaurant! When this place is packed on a Tues/Wed and the take out order queue is an 80 min wait, you know you have the right spot!Pro Tip:-Come earlier before 6:30 if you don't want to wait. Goodluck on the weekend during peak hours.-If doing take out, order early as well. If you try ordering at 630 on any given day, it could take 60-90 minutes.Food/Price:Overall, the food quantity and the price is what sets this place apart. You definitely get bang for you buck, but the food is also super delicious. It feels like elevated home cooking and has a superb assortment on the menu that will please all audiences. It definitely is not the "freshest", but you know you getting flavorful dishes and a reasonable price!Ambiance:The seating arrangements are fairly limited. Theres probably 5 tables of 5 and 2 large tables. The pictures on yelp are accurate representations of the indoor ambiance.

Parking lot is pretty small since it's sharing with several businesses so I recommend carpooling if you're eating with friends or family. We got seated around 8pm and ordered the slice fish porridge and spare ribs clay pot. Clay pot takes 30 mins to make so be aware of that as you order it.My boyfriend and I were feeling something warm and soupy since we still getting over our cold. It really hit the spot! I do wish that added more ginger to the porridge to make it more fragrant. I enjoyed the claypot rice more as it was more flavorfulz overall goood price for the portions!

Our first time and the food left a very positive presence. - Clay pot rice with minced salted fish minced pork- wonton noodle soup- Baked Fish & Pork Chop w Rice- Portuguese Bake Chicken steak- hot milk teaEverything we tried was pretty good. We also saw the table next to us ordered beef chow fun, and Beef stew w bean curd. Those look really good as well so we got take outs. Parking: It can be difficult. Very small lot. We came on a Sat so at least some businesses are closed so more space to park. Opening hours: Yelp says 11:00 but we arrived at 10:40 and then waited in the car a few minutes but saw people started going in! So immediately we followed. Then we realized sometimes they do open earlier. Within 15minutes, 11:00am, it was a full house. My advice is to arrive around 10:45 or else you would need to wait. Service was decent. There are only 2 workers so you can't expect a whole of of attention but they did refill my tea. I like that they gave an entire pot of tea so you don't need to ask too many times for tea refill I counted and there are a total of 6 small tables that fits 4 people and 2 large tables that fits up to 8 people. I would definitely come back again. This location is also pretty convenient to go to SFO. About 15min way.

Blue Sky Cafe is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area when it comes to price, taste, and portion size. It's a small spot, so be prepared to wait--whether dining in or ordering takeout. The restaurant is usually packed by opening, and takeout orders can take 1-2 hours, so plan accordingly. We ordered the beef broccoli lunch special, salt and pepper pork chops, ginger scallion chicken, and beef stew with bean curd. The lunch specials are a steal, offering generous portions at very reasonable prices. The salt and pepper pork chops were fried to perfection--crispy and airy on the outside, yet juicy and flavorful on the inside. Even a simple dish like the beef broccoli stood out, with tender beef and perfectly cooked broccoli that paired well with the two scoops of rice.

This popular Cafe is worth the wait! Extensive menu with many Cantonese dishes. We tried the stir fried green beans with pork and spicy sauce and salty fish and minced pork. Both dishes were flavorful and came in large portions. Friendly service, QR code ordering system, small dining room. We'll be back!

I had a Friday afternoon chow fun craving and decided to hit up this spot near me, even though I don't visit as often as I should. It's a small dining area, but you can tell from the lunch crowd that folks who are there are in the know about the food they have. You may have to wait on some days to get a table.Ordered the chow fun with gravy, added shrimp and egg, and let me tell you, it was a food coma in the making! Fast service, wallet-friendly prices, neighborhood joint, but I ate so much I had to skip dinner. My waistband hates me, but I'll be coming back more regularly!

Returned after a vacation. Been craving Chinese beef stew and Blue Sky did not disappoint! So delicious even without the daikon! Had it with chicken and salted fish fried rice, so good together! Also craved veggies so got chicken and green beans. Of course never fail to order beef chow fun with gravy. Even the tea and chili oil tasted so good. All went smoothly with the QR scan. Love this place! They have new comfy chairs.

If you are a fan of clay pot rice, you should definitely visit this Cantonese restaurant in Belmont. It's a small restaurant that accommodates about 25 people. There were eight of us, so we occupied the only large table. We ordered three different kinds of house special clay pot rice (customization is also available), and my favorite was the half spareribs and half Chinese sausage. The meat was tender, and the rice texture was spot on!We also ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and they were all delicious! Some of my top favorites include:- Half chicken with ginger and green onion- Beef stew with bean curd- Braised oxtail with red wine sauceI also ordered the iced lemon tea, which was very refreshing and paired well with the rest of the dishes!

Called for pickup on Sunday afternoon and was told it was a 40 minute wait. They are definitely pretty popular and their dine-in area is a bit small. Expect to wait for a seat and also wait for pickup because they seem to get a lot of pick-up orders. The food quality and quantity for the price is definitely hard to beat! The combination set section of the menu includes a drink (milk tea or lemon tea) for $1.50 more which is a great deal! Both the drinks were delicious and reminds me of what I can get in HK.The baked dishes were pretty good, I've had better flavored baked dishes elsewhere in the Bay Area. However, value is hard to beat and is still comforting so I definitely want to come back to try the rest of their offerings in-person next time!

I recently visited Blue Sky Cafe, located in the Belmont Business Center plaza. This small spot serves authentic Chinese food, specializing in Cantonese dishes. There's parking both in front and behind the building, which makes it convenient despite the busy location. When I arrived on a Friday night, there was a long wait, but the experience was worth it. The operation is small, with only about 10 tables, so expect a wait if you're coming during peak hours. I waited about 40 minutes for a table. The exterior may look aged with a faded sign, but don't let that fool you--it's a sure sign that the food is going to be great! Now, onto the food. It was delicious, affordable, and generously portioned:1) House Special Fried Rice ($15.95) - This is hands down the best fried rice I've ever had, and I've tried a lot! It had that perfect wok hei (smoky flavor) and was packed with ingredients like shrimp, beef, squid, peas, and carrots. The portion size was huge, at least enough for six bowls of rice.2) Salt & Pepper Pork Chop ($15.95) - Another winner! The pork chops were fried to perfection, thin, and crispy with the ideal balance of flavor. This dish seemed to be a favorite at many tables around us.3) Gold & Silver Egg with Mustard Greens Soup ($14.95) - The soup was bursting with umami flavor. The mustard greens were cooked perfectly, and the subtle bitterness was balanced by the rich flavors of the pidan (century egg) and salted egg.The service was also fast and efficient. You can order by scanning a QR code, but they also have servers who can take your order traditionally if you prefer. The staff worked hard to keep things moving smoothly even with the long line of waiting customers.Overall, Blue Sky Cafe is an absolute gem if you're craving authentic Cantonese food. It's well worth the wait, and the flavors and portions won't disappoint.
