As soon as I arrived to the area, I was told Bill's was a must try for brunch. They have their own private parking lot which is nice and an outdoor patio with heaters for those who like to be outdoors. The menu had several options to please those who love sweets or savory options. Our waiter Oscar, I believe, was fun and made the experience even more enjoyable. We're from the Midwest, and my dad said Bill's had some of the best biscuits he's ever had with his biscuits and gravy. And he's eaten his fair share of biscuits in the Midwest and south. The cinnamon roll pancakes were a hit, the bacon was cooked perfectly crispy, the roasted red potatoes were my personal favorite. The breakfast burrito and fitness omelet were great as well. Bill's is definitely a new favorite of mine and I will return!

Sunday morning was very busy but we were provided a table for two in about fifteen minutes. The coffee was disappointing--it tasted like an ashtray.On the brighter side, the California omelette was delicious. The seasoned potatoes had great flavor but were served cold. I understand the need to prepare food ahead of time, but perhaps they could be kept under a heat lamp to stay warm. The side of bacon, however, was excellent: smoky, not too thick, and very flavorful.As for the service, while the waitress was efficient and got the job done, she lacked friendliness and came across as overly serious. A warmer demeanor would have made the experience more enjoyable.

I have been a Bills customer on and off since 1989. Through the management changes, the menu has remained consistent with some reliable favorites. Not anymore. The Pancake Sandwich / 2-2-2 is gone as is the Florentine Omelette and the SBC omelette. If I want the equivalent of the old 2-2-2 I can build it with the "Make it Delicious" menu (add it all a-la-carte) and take the price up to Steak and Eggs level.I ordered a Spinach Bacon and Feta omelette with hash browns and toast (rather than upgrade to a pancake for $2.75). The wife got a California omelette with English muffin and country potatoes. The muffin spent a bit too long in the toaster and arrived "lightly blackened". My "SBC" arrived as an "ABC" (avocado topped). The waiter offered a side of sauteed spinach or to remake the dish. I opted to remake. The hash browns were not the usual pile of potatoes but a smattering spread across the plate.I really debated giving even a 3 star review. My fond memories of Bills and the effort of our server saved this from being a 2. But..Favorites gone, higher prices and skimpy portions all at the same time have moved Bills from a reliable favorite to the same category as an unknown new restaurant. At that point, I might as well go find a new favorite.

I come here with my family whenever I visit from Ventura, which is about 6x/year. It's consistent for the most part and the service is great. It is very clean and the restaurant is accommodating with their seating. It gets packed at peak times but we've always been seated pretty fast. They now have mini meals where you can get a half portion for a few dollars less which I really appreciate. Their Benedict's and omelettes are great and the pancakes always come out hot with warm syrup (this is how it is *supposed* to be done). I split 1 chocolate chip pancake with my BIL and it made my day! Soooo good! Justin was our server and he was beyond fantastic. He was kind, efficient and patient. We had split tables and all of our food came out together and he was able to combine the check without any issue. A flawless meal in and out with a 3-year-old and dog in tow is a win! Bill's now officially feels like a family tradition! Cheers!

12/22/23We are back again at Bill's Cafe, but in San Jose this time!Bill's Cafe is super popular brunch place so definitely utilize the yelp waitlist feature. Zach, Coco and I took a 30 minute drive down to San Jose. Zach dropped Coco and I off while he went to go look for parking. He managed to find a spot 2 blocks away which wasn't too bad considering how packed the restaurant already was. Once I checked in, they gave us an outside table (they are dog friendly!).Here's what we got:- Guava mimosa (me)- Bloody Mary (his)- Fried chicken benedict (me)- Crab cake benedict (his)- Gravy and biscuits to shareThe staff are very pleasant and friendly. My guava mimosa came in a huge bowl and also unfortunately had a hair in it. I quickly told our waiter that I'd like a new one since I was definitely not going to drink the one with a hair in it. He apologized and had a new one brought out to me in a couple of minutes. All of the food came out together in about 10 minutes. As our waiter was laying the plates down, we realized we were going to have trouble finishing everything since the portions are huge! The country potatoes were delicious! Hash browns are fresh with a slight crunch as you bite into them. The fried chicken benedict was super good and definitely a must try. The sauce that accompanied it was really yummy and has a small kick of spice to it. And the eggs were cooked to perfection. I had a small bite of the crab cake and that tasted great as well. The biscuits were soft, a little dry but dipping them in the gravy solved that matter. We ended up finishing our main dishes and had some potatoes and biscuits leftover. Looking forward to another delicious meal here.

I wasn't really impressed by bills cafe and can't really understand the hype. I got a breakfast that I could have got at black bear diner or Denny's. Service was just okay nothing extraordinary and it was a classic diner vibes that a lot of locals go to. This is definitely not my first option when it comes to breakfast but just an okay meal for me

Filled with girls brunches, families, and couples. It's a busy spot so don't expect a quiet place to eat. Prices are reasonable for the area, though still on the pricey side.There's a small parking lot next door, but it fills up quickly--you'll likely need to find street parking. Overall, a reliable choice for a good brunch!

Classic place for brunch! They were busy on a Sunday midday--it was about a 20 minute wait. Service was great and the food arrived pretty quickly considering how busy they were.California Benedict (4/5) was great! I appreciate that I got a good amount of avocado. Can't go wrong with this one :)The cinnamon pancakes (4/5) were good as well. It had some nice crispy parts from the cinnamon sugar. I recommend splitting this with someone else because the sweetness can be a lot.My bf got the bill's original skillet and he enjoyed this as well. I tried it and thought it was good. The potatoes were a bit too mushy for my taste though.Overall great place for a regular brunch spot. Great service, timely, and good food!
