Bean Scene Cafe

A great cafe next to city hall and the local theatre.Great list of both coffee drinks and tea. Lots of food choices as well such as sandwiches and chicken bake. Don't get why for the low ratings. It's a perfect place especially if there is a show next door. Also the service is excellent as it is quick unlike other places like Red Rock.Good that is open when other place close too early around the area. I will return since it's quiet and a good place to bring work, etc.

Super convenient, located right near the Performing Arts Center at the Mountain View downtown and is always open during performances. There is a large variety of options, and I particularly like that many of them are savory, such as the quiches, tamales, lasagna, and several others. I particularly love the empanadas here, they are big and soft, some of the best I've had so far. The price is also reasonable and the overall location and view from this place creates a really peaceful atmosphere to enjoy your food.

Came for a quick drink before a meeting, quick service and greeted by an amicable staff. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Ambiance was cozy and no loud music as some cafes have. Pastries for sale as well. I bought a chai tea latte, nothing special but was good, hit the spot. Clean, eatablishment.

Coffee is actually very tasty. The ambiance warm and homey makes it a great spot for work of study as it's very. The service was fast and friendly. I also tried the quiche its wasn't the best but okay. They have plenty of savory and sweet stuff to have with coffee. They have also other food like sodas and snacks.

Rude owner. Mountain View's summer Friday concerts bring hundreds of people, at taxpayer expense, to just a few steps from Bean Scene. This could be a bonanza if the owner handled it right. Instead, during concerts, he repeatedly runs out shouting at passersby to get off the steps in front of his shop. He doesn't own those steps -- they are a public space -- but if he really wants to wall off a public space, why not put up cones or ropes, instead of shouting at potential customers? Why not hand out coupons to the hundreds of potential customers that are standing a few feet away during the dinner hour? It's so foolish and counterproductive. Business 101.

It's my first time trying this local small cafe but it was a very bad experience. The staff is impatient taking my order even though I'm the only customer in the cafe. The croissant is dry and sad and tasteless. I asked her for a cup of warm water and she gave me tap water straight from the tap. She had an attitude that made it feel like she had more important things to do and I as a customer was inconveniencing her. I asked her for a receipt and it seems that it even bothers her more despite none else being in the cafe. Overall, I think the cafe is in a good location but I won't recommend it to anyone or come back again.

I'm not going to say the food in this cafe is good or bad, I usually avoid going here from having had negative experiences. (Personally) however I tried my luck again and asked for a cup of hot water and the man tried to charge me 1.50, i sensed a bit of snarky attitude there too, I'm not sure why I did or why it costs them this 1.50 for a cup of water.

Lily was really friendly good costumer service I nice place to stop by and get a quick coffee or something to eat.

Artichoke Quiche: tasted good, but food temperature was terrible.I liked that the artichoke hearts were finely chopped up (no chunks). That said, one side of the quiche was pipping hot, the other stone cold. They admitted to warming it up in a microwave; I observed their microwave ovens were very small, so most likely they did not have rotating trays to evenly distribute the heat.Chicken and Mushroom Empanadas: these were thoroughly warm and moist inside with a soft crust. I enjoyed their flavor.

I'm going to give a 4 star for kind, prompt service. The barista who helped me and my friend was very nice . I docked one star only because the specific drink I ordered didn't feel worth $6.25 to me: the Chai Chiller Freeze (I think that's the name of it). I love chai and have never had it blended so that sounded good however while I could taste the chai the way this frappe type drink was made , it wasn't that appealing only because the texture of it was mainly ice once the chai is gone if that makes sense. A lot of frappes can be made where you can drink the entire thing ; I was unable to because it was mainly ice chunks by the end. However, I'm not going to give a low rating because there are many other drinks and items on the menu I have yet to try . I love trying new cafes and I look forward to returning :)
