Came in specifically to buy a steak since my daughter really wanted one. I had checked trader joe first and their didn't look fresh!!! There's a younger guy and an older guy working behind the counter. The younger guy was helping me , and I chose a medium sized ribeye about an inch thick. I seasoned and seared the steak then air fried in butter until a nice medium. When I tell you this was the best store bought quality steak I've EVER HAD...I'm not playing! I'm never able to buy meat from a basic grocery ever again now . I can't afford to come here every day but when I want steak this is where I'm headed.

Located in the Marketplace, Baron's has great cuts of fish and meats. They will scale, skin, clean, etc. Caviar and smoked salmon is also available. You can request for your meat and fish to be packed in ice. It's a bit pricey, but the quality of the fish and meats is worth it! My one piece of feedback is to have a clear place to form a line.

The friendly and knowledgeable service at Baron's is top notch! I was in the mood for a good homemade pot roast the other day so I came to Baron's to get their recommendation for a good cut for my plans. The employee (didn't catch his name) suggested the chuck roast and even explained the difference between another cut of meat I was inquiring about. He told me the cheaper cut will be better for my pot roast. I always love honest recommendations and not being upsold for the sake of upselling. Baron's is also the go-to butcher shop for rare cuts like Denver steak. IYKYK about Denver cut; it's great for sous vide and then seared to perfection. They have some wagyu cuts and I think I even saw picanha aka coulette steaks!Shout out to Alex O. for exceptional service and a great memory when I stopped by many months ago! I need to shop here more often for their high quality meats and uber friendly service. And one day, I will try their dry aged steaks.

Just love this butcher. Their passion for what they do shows forth!!! We had a deer processed after hubbie got one this year. The cuts, the sausage, and the service are stellar. Not to mention that we always buy our meat there. Won't be buying any meat for a while. We are stocked up. Thanks Baron's!!!

Visited Baron's today for some filet mignon to make shaken beef. Asked for 6oz filet and it was melt in your mouth with no fat. I redeemed my birthday reward and the guy at the register was super nice. will be back for sure

We are regular customers at Barons and always receive a warm welcome. My girlfriend says that their meat quality is so good that it is effortless to cook with perfect results every time. We also enjoy the steelhead trout and find it excellent in our favorite recipes. We both love the service from Amanda, Lee and the other folk behind the counter and look forward to our shopping visits.

Asking for sirloin steaks, they whipped out an entire loin and carved three beauties. Oh, they were perfectly trimmed and delicious! Marrow bones were perfectly cut and yielded massive amounts of yummy marrow. It was expensive and worth it. My friends and I ate like Royalty that night!

I bit disappointed but not shocked. Yesterday I came to pick up some meat. I asked one butcher if the had ground turkey he told that they did on the other side. I walk over to the other side. The butcher who was on the other side was helping someone else and I should have been next. Another lady decided to stand not to far away from me to wait for assistance as well. Once the butcher was finished helping his current customer a lady walked up to him, began to ask him question and he began to prepare her order while me and another customer stood there. At this point the other butcher looks at me, looks at the other waiting customer and walk away. I stood there for a few more seconds to see if the butcher would apologize and say "I'll be right with you" or something. He said absolutely nothing The beautiful part of all of this is that I do have options so there was no need to get upset. I can take my money elsewhere. Hopefully, we can get a black owned meat market in Alameda and not run into these types of issues anymore

I have been a customer at Barons for years, and the quality of their meats, poultry and fish is about the same, but the customer service is dismal. The gentleman that used to own Barons was so professional and friendly, as was his staff. Now, in my opinion, they all have an attitude, like they are doing us a favor to wait on us. It is so disappointing. Here's a tip (not cash) for the employees: customers = you stay in business. I am actively looking for another place to purchase fish. Once I find it, buh bye.
