Artistic Bites

I've had the pleasure of enjoying Deanna's creations for a few years now. She always makes the cakes for our friends' special occasions. The best part about Deanna's cakes/tarts/desserts--they not only look amazing, but the taste is out of this world!A few years ago, my friends and I were obsessed with irish car bombs. No we weren't alcoholics, we just enjoyed the flavors of the Guiness and chocolate. As my birthday surprise, my friend asked Deanna to come up with something amazing. When he got to my house, imagine my surprise when I found a green bomb with little leprechauns surrounding it! And after I blew out the candle, we cut into it and it had the perfect blend of flavors! It tasted like chocolate + Guiness--just like a real Irish Car Bomb!Since that party, I've enjoyed lots of other cakes from Deanna-- a cake shaped like a tooth to celebrate a friend entering dental school... a sushi cake (because we had a sushi themed party)... you name it and Deanna's creativity oozes out. Deanna is definitely one of the most creative people I've ever met and I love ordering cakes from Artistic Bites!

It's pretty hard to expect a vendor to exceed your expectations, but Artistic Bites exceeded mine! Even with her multiple commitments, Deanna makes you feel like your needs are thee most important! She made the process very easy and really listens to your requests.For my daughter's 5th birthday party, she chose an Aladdin/Jasmine theme. It'd been a pretty busy month at work and I had absolutely no time to tend to the details (favors, decorations, kids activities, etc). I was pretty worried her friends and my guests would be disappointed. I had found a cake design my daughter had loved. Although Deanna (Artistic Bites Pastry Chef) provided me with ample design examples, I had asked Deanna if she could re-create the design my daughter had found. I was informed that Deanna always adds her own "spin/creative touch" to her designs, so I did not expect her to make it exactly like the photo. When the cake arrived, Deanna and her VERY helpful driver/delivery guy, set up the cake and the stand. Oh my! Not only did she make a beautiful display (pedestal, platter, decorative cloth to fit our theme), but she made an absolutely beautiful cake. The cake had a genie lamp and they added dry ice to make smoke come out of it (that was not part of my request)! So creative and absolutely entertaining! How many people can say that about THEIR cake creations?!Nonetheless, the cake was beautifully done, created with love, and so yummy! My guests were impressed, I adored it and even the venue we had our event at said they'd never seen anything like it! I'll post a pic, but I don't think it does it justice. We were absolutely a satisfied customer.If you're considering Artistic Bites, don't hesitate and give Deanna a call. Her customer service and artistic creations will not disappoint!

Tried some samples at a Yelp event in Oakland and I'm very impressed! Their flavors are all authentic, not overly sweetened, and the texture of their cakes are soft & moist. I really enjoyed the rose macaroon & mini raspberry cakes. I especially liked the mini pumpkin pie cakes I tried at one point.

We had probably one of the best cakes I have ever tasted in my life made by the talented Deanna! I am so glad we chose Deanna to design our cake. I really wanted lace details for our cake since my theme incorporated lace and also my wedding dress was all lace and Deanna was able to deliver on my vision. Deanna was so sweet and listened to what we wanted and offered suggestions to what she believed would work. She also made sure to work with our budget. Our cake tasting consisted of 4 flavors (Lemon raspberry, MMM cake-cookies and cream, supa mango- oh oh, and chocolate truffle) to taste test. All flavors were scrumptious (BTW I am a dessert freak) but we ultimately decided to go with the Lemon Raspberry cake for a light cake for our summer wedding. OMG it was heavenly during our cake tasting and was even better on the day of the wedding. The night of the wedding I was patiently waiting until I could have a bite of wedding cake. I loved it so much I even finished my husband's slice hahahah! Our guests enjoyed the cake too!The first time I saw our cake was of course during our cake cutting and I was so happy with how GORGEOUS it was. It was even better than what I had envisioned for it to be. The cake was light, MOIST, and full of flavor. I have had cakes at other weddings that were hella dry and really didn't taste good at all but Deanna's cakes taste HELLA DELICIOUS and MOIST.... just what a cake should be.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Deanna. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to book her pronto! I plan on ordering more cake from her for other events because she is just that good! We were looking for someone who could do mini desserts and we found Artistic Bites. Her website said that she was no longer taking any more orders, but we decided to shoot an email over just to make sure. After a few emails, Deanna agreed to take on our wedding dessert order! She was patient and straightforward and we decided not to do a tasting since this was a last minute booking. Deanna did not disappoint and her desserts were amazing. We ordered fruit tarts and mango/pistachio/vanilla macarons, and they were gone before we could even try one! Our only regret was not ordering 2x or even 3x the amount, as they were an enormous hit. Deanna was amazing, desserts were amazing, will definitely recommend Artistic Bites to anyone looking for mini desserts.Note to self: will be ordering a few dozen for our own personal consumption soon!

Deanna made our wedding cake and some of the desserts for our dessert bar. She was so easy to work with, very responsive, professional, and super sweet!... and of course the most important thing, her desserts are DELICIOUS!We did a tasting and tried lots of yummy flavors- in the end we did mmchocolate cupcakes, lemon raspberry cupcakes, and red velvet along with 3 different macaron flavors (orange creamsicle, pb&j and salted caramel.. I think). All were delicious and set up perfectly!

You will love to work with Deanna!She was so wonderful to work with in sharing our ideas of what our perfect wedding cake and treats would be like. She was extremely patient, kind, creative, and even had suggestions that were perfect. We were thrilled to see our dream come true! Besides getting to taste test, we were excited to have a little take home box of each sample as well! The overall process was simple, easy, and very efficient.Our wedding cake was very moist, and delicious! (Lychee filling is amazing!) Three Tiered and beautiful! We Loved the colored ribbon and the simplicity of it all.We also included as part of the desserts a crafty dessert box! Inside she created tasty treats : a chocolate dipped strawberry (baseball themed), GO GIANTS, peanut butter chocolate whoopee pie(almost like a home fun pie), a raspberry macaron, and an apple cinnamon tart. I've never heard of guests looking around for boxes not being claimed, but the desserts were a hit! We were able to share them with staff at the reception and our DJ and Photo crew. Thanks for Making everything wonderful! If anyone needs desserts, please book Artistic Bites for your next party! You won't regret it. =)

Do you see that GORGEOUS teal and yellow cake that is the main photo on this page?Well, that was OUR wedding cake by the extremely talented pastry chef, Deanna Gin, creator of Artistic Bites!!!!!!!My husband and I love the ocean, and for our wedding, we went with teal/light blue and yellow as our colors. We had our wedding reception on the private pier at La Mar in San Francisco, which was right on the water, so the ocean was our main theme.The cake Deanna created for us just shows her creative genius. After just a short consultation, I decided to trust Deanna and let her do her thing. When I saw my wedding cake the day of the reception, I was floored. I couldn't be happier!!!! It was a perfect depiction of what I had wanted, the colors were spot on, the shells and starfish looked so real, the entire thing was PERFECT. It was EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!Actually, OUR cake was exactly what WE wanted. (I guess I have to use "we" now that we're married)...but seriously the cake fit in with everything else perfectly...the backdrop of the ocean, just the right amount of fancy and whimsical, but also elegant and formal.It totally reflected our personalities and tastes. I couldn't stop staring at it. I remember just wanting to stand around the cake to look at all the details and enjoy the craftsmanship. I wanted to hug Deanna for the work she had done, and I am sure I did!Plus, she delivers! I really didn't have to worry about ANYTHING before the wedding, and it came, right on time, before the reception began. It is such a Godsend when a business is so reliable and works hard to make you happy. You can just relax and enjoy your wedding day instead of running around like a maniac worried about everything.I LOVED OUR CAKE FROM DEANNA!!!! I really couldn't have asked for more.Now every time I get a chance to look at our wedding album I smile when I see our cake. She has created a memory for us of our special day that is beautiful and timeless. That in itself is priceless.THANK YOU SO MUCH DEANNA! THANK YOU ARTISTIC BITES!!!!!! I saw a birthday cake Deanna created on Facebook and wanted the same thing, She expressed to me she dosen't like doing the same cake twice. Her cakes are designed and created and not your everyday run of the mill flat cake with plastic toys dropped on it. She created a jaw dropping Toy Story 3 themed cake with a Lotso Huggin' Bear chillin' on a Tonka truck! The expressions on everyone's face was frikkin' priceless! We have a framed picture of my son going to town on Lotso's face in our kitchen! PRICELESS MEMORIES! Oh........BTW the cake tasted great! I can't wait to use Deanna for his 5th birthday next year!

I was looking for somebody to make frosted sugar cookies for my sister's bridal shower. I contacted a few people I was referred to but I either got no response or they were already booked. I then remembered Deanna who made one of my best friend's cakes and small desserts for her wedding. I went on to her website and saw that she made frosted sugar cookies, so I decided to contact her.Deanna was super sweet, professional, and responsive! She contacted me within a day or my inquiry. I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and she provided me a quote. Once I approved the quote, she sent me a design of the cookies, and we proceeded with the contract. I must say, Deanna definitely delivered! The cookies and the presentation were BEAUTIFUL! She incorporated all the wedding colors. They were also delicious! She has two flavors of shortbread - vanilla and lemon. I went with lemon and they did not disappoint. I ordered some extra for home and my husband thought they were amazing! He usually doesn't care for lemon either. I can't wait to try Deanna's vanilla sugar cookies as well as the other desserts and cakes that she makes. If you're looking for special occasion cakes and small bites, Artistic Bites is the way to go! Everything I've tried from Deanna has been great! She was wonderful about communication and it was definitely a smooth process/transaction with her - I can't stress this enough. I wish I knew about her when I got married!
