The Thursday and Friday wine tastings are really fun and staff is very knowledgeable. It's a very casual vibe where you can sit outside, inside, or walk around the shop while sipping. It's not the tasting you're probably used to. These tastings are pre-defined so check their website to see what's coming up or just stop in and be pleasantly surprised. My GF had a great work related meeting earlier in the day and that's a good enough reason for us to celebrate with a tasting! We just stopped in and this 6 bottle tasting was all champagne and champagne styles from France, Italy, Spain and California. Our last tasting a few weeks ago was all reds from around the world including Mirage and Frogs Leap.Stop in, do a tasting. Learn about each wine, shop, listen to classic music from their big vinyl collection being played on the turntable, and have fun after work. Everything is reasonably priced.

We were on a hunt for a place for delicious bubbles (sparkling wine). We live right around the corner from here and decided to stop by. It was a lovely surprise that they were having a sparkling wine tasting. They have various tastings on Thursday and Friday evenings. The young lady, Layla, is super friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable about the wines. When we first got there, Sue greeted us at the front of the house. A really low let and attentive lady. It's a lovely and quaint atmosphere on the patio or indoors at the front where they have huge windows which feels like you're sitting outside. The bubbles were amazing! They have a very large selection of all kinds of wines. What's also really coolabout this place is that one of the co-owners collects vinyl records. It's quite the amazing collection. You'll really enjoy this quaint, fun spot!

Just to be clear - I'm no oenophile. I love a good cab or syrah and know a couple in particular that I've enjoyed, but to say that I'm even moderately well versed in wines would be beyond high complimentary. The characteristics of grapes and wines from different regions and what year is a good one for a certain wine/varietal? Can't help you there, but what I can tell you is that Charles Shaw is called Two Buck Chuck, Franzia comes in a box, and that the wine aisle is second from the end at my local Safeway. Also, that I wish more wine bars had more food options to go with their selections of vino. Which just may or may not be one of the biggest things I like about Ancora Vino!Located inside The Littlest Little Italy (it's one of the counters that make up the larger business), Ancora Vino is pretty awesome. Not only does it have the same cozy vibe as other wine bars, they also have an outdoor patio area that's great for parties large or small. More importantly, the wine selection is pretty extensive, with over two different reds, whites, roses, sparkling wines, and even orange wines from all over the world, including California, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Slovenia, and more. As far as food goes, they have your typical cheese and charcuterie options, as well as a smattering of appetizers (caprese salad, burrata, arancini, etc.). However, from their other counters, you can also get pizza, pasta, Italian beef sandwiches, salads, chicken wings, fries, and a host of craft beers if you're more "pints up" than "pinkies up".-- ARANCINI - Mushroom & Truffle Risotto with Whipped Ricotta...$12.95I may have been starving, but this was legitimately delicious! Each piece was crispy, not all that dense/heavy, and packed with flavor (the mushroom and truffle blended really well). The whipped ricotta on the bottom, though? So good!-- CHEESE PLATTER - Gorgonzola Dolce, Pecorino di Tartufo, and Asiago...$15.95 (3 Types)Unfortunately, I couldn't catch all of the different fruits/jams this came with (there was a mango one that was delicious), but this was great! The Asiago was my least favorite of the three, but honestly, all three were delicious!-- SALUMI PLATTER - Soppresata, Spicy Salami, and Prosciutto...$15.95 (3 Types)Decent, but still kind of disappointing. Even though the Spicy Salami actually came with two types, the portion felt a bit light (two pieces of each for three of us?). That said, all three were pretty tasty, especially the Soppresata and Prosciutto.-- PARMESAN & TRUFFLE FRIES...$18.95Admittedly, this is rather pricey for the amount you get, but they're also really good. The fries are perfect (golden, crispy, and slightly potato-y), are really well seasoned, and topped with a fair amount of truffle oil and Parmesan. As far as our wines go, I'm not sure which specific varietals we ended up with we ordered (I stepped away), but each of the white, red, and rose were all terrific. I especially liked the red (the '21 L'Arco Rosso Veronese?), but I also prefer reds in general. However, what I appreciated even more was the manager (owner?) stopping by our table to give us a run down of their menu and to help guide us to figure out which offerings we would like best. What's more, he also took the time to explain the meat and cheese plates as well and came by often to see how we were enjoying everything. While I don't really have much about our visit to complain about, one thing I do regret is not getting their Grande Tabola ("For the Table"). The description sounded like a lot of food (each type of meat and cheese, plus their Burrata and Caprese), but I think we might have been okay based on what we ended up with. Plus, I was super curious about their Burrata and Caprese, though it's not like the Arancini was an awful consolation prize. I guess that just means I already know what I'm getting when I come back, though it might be tough not trying one of the pizzas or Italian Beef Sandwiches from one of the other counters!FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

Visited this past Saturday evening and the place was pretty empty. There was seemingly a smaller selection than the last time I was here, at least for the more affordable wines (non-club member prices). The arancini from the Salumi bar is irresistible, too good to share... so I got the arancini for one, but a bottle of vino for two (roark red wine), a balanced and slightly tart flavor perfect for sharing at home. Making purchases is a little confusing with no clear signage and staff constantly moving around. An employee who was cleaning a table stopped to help me order and pay. She was working both rooms inside the Littlest Little Italy, Ancora Vino and Birre by Pour Decisions. You can pretty much pay/order anywhere. On a slow day, this was easy. On a busier day, they typically have additional staff available, but there may still be more of a wait. I've only ever made purchases to go, but they do wine tasting and events here too. Based on value and overall experience, I'm giving 4 stars.

Super fun spot with a ton of food options and amazing wine! Cannot go wrong with :-meatballs (giant, juicy, saucy, with amazing ricotta on top adding creaminess)-Arancini (best truffle flavor and so cheesy)-Parma Johnny (pictured- chicken is super tender, crispy, bread is amazing!! And comes with side chips) Service is friendly and fast, the only thing that is not great is parking, but you can always walk a bit or just Uber here!

Went here for an event. It was delightful, and this staff is why. They handle large mobs REALLY well. Good wines. Part of Enoteca La Storia, they carry on the tradition of good wines and better service.Good foods, for largely the same reason. They handled the event from their own kitchen. Impressive. Will return when in Little Italy in SJ!

I love the rebranding and restructuring of this restaurant. While we were sad to see Enoteca go, we love that they now have food and a wonderful selection of wines and beers. Their wine club is fantastic and you get great deals on the wine you drink at the restaurant. The wine events are also fun and I love any place that's family friendly.
