Aloha Catering

Aloha Catering was everything that we needed and hoped for!!!! Aloha Catering was the greatest help at our mother's Celebration of Life! Especially in these events, you never want to have any problems. Well, Aloha Catering did an awesome job and we never had to worry about anything! When the party arrived, Aloha Catering was ready for the guests to line up and eat! The food was awesome! Everything we expected, and being brought up on Hawaiian food, we know what Hawaiian is supposed to taste like....exactly what we were served! Again, Richard, thank you for the great service and the great food! Even though we had way more people than expected, you never ran out of food and we never paid a penny more than agreed on! Thank you again! Mahalo, as they would say in Hawaii.... Aloha!

Richard was friendly, reliable, helpful and food was delicious! Everyone at our party was raving about the food. We got the Ohana #2 package. Everyone loved the food and was beyond satisfied. We wished we lived back in the Bay Area to have Richard cater all of our events. We definitely will be back soon!

Emailed AC and the owner Richard responded with an emailing laying out the quote as expected. Then he called to go over what was emailed. I emailed back saying we were discussing quote with my team. I finally got back to him but the date we were asking for was already booked. He was very helpful and kind on the phone. Their prices are reasonably and menu looks delicious. The reviews helped too.

I was simply getting a quote and the director Richard, was extremely rude and unprofessional. The whole conversation did not go well. He said he's 80 years old and bragging about how smart he is and how he pays his IT big money to create spreadsheets of quotes. Apparently my computer is faulty according to him. We were just not on the same page. He was not hearing me. He was extremely rude and I am literally in tears because of how uncomfortable he made me feel just from our conversation. This was my experience with him and it's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to having this catering for my wedding. I'd give no stars but I guess I have to give one...

Just like the other reviewer, we also reached out to request for quote for a corporate catering order. Richard was extremely rude to our team and mansplained how we should be running our business and how great his business if because of his expertise. He spoke over our team and refused to let us get a word in. This conversation of him lecturing us lasted about 30 minutes until we just hung up on him. I would not recommend working with Aloha Catering. We dodge a bullet on this one. Cant imagine the logistical nightmare if we decided to proceed.

I love that Richard and Minh are such perfectionists! I saw the review about the form and how rigid he is about making sure you have the form clearly accessible when you initially talk to him some people may find that rude but I feel it's the only effective way to be on the "same page", I can't imagine reviewing a document on a device you're talking on efficiently. I hired Aloha Catering for my daughter's surprise baby shower. The set up was extremely efficient and went smoothly. They took care of everything from start to finish. The food was delicious, tasty and moist, fresh and so much! Not sure if we were small eaters but we had to ask everyone to take food home and still had a lot left over. Menu included chicken, kalua pig and cabbage, chicken long rice,fruit and veggie salad, veggie stir fry, Mac salad and an amazing banana cake. Rice too of course. More than enough of everything and no one went home hungry!! Considering all that and the wonderful service, the price was extremely reasonable and beat many other catering companies significantly. If you have the opportunity Aloha Catering will not disappoint. Richard may come across a little gruff but that's old school Hawaii with standards from a guy that's worked hard all his life and has experience. Minh will smooth things over and between the two of them, make your catering experience something you'll be proud of to have chosen Aloha Catering. Not a sales speech, just coming from a girl from Hawaii that understands the service industry and loves the local food!!

ZERO stars if I could. Like some similar reviews, Richard called to discuss about the attached quote. In my case, he never sent the attachment and was accusing me that I am not reading the right email. He also then says that my MacBook and his Windows computer were not a match. He kept saying that we cannot work together if I cannot read it correctly. I had to cut his call short after 10 minutes because he is an absolute rude owner. I would never want him to organize my event. Attached are images of my email which obviously has no attachment or a link to the spreadsheet and his wording is rude as well in general. I told him I work with computers so I know how to read emails because he was putting the blame all on me, the customer! He took that as an offense and sounded like he wanted to challenge me because I am younger than him and I should know how to find this "attachment" that he sent. He says he is 81 years old, in that case you should retire and live a happier life than to ruin people's day with your attitude and manner. Anyway, he is lucky I held my anger because anybody would've cussed him out. AVOID!!

We had catering for company event. Food was super delicious. We picked Hukilau Luau from the menu. Chicken Teriyaki is the most popular items. Everyone wanted to have a 2nd round! Richard and his team were very responsive, organized and punctual! We highly recommended Aloha Catering for any party and gatherings!

Mahalo to Richard for a preparing and delivering such a delicious luau for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Richard is responsive on both email and phone. He arrived early to the event and set up the Hawaiian buffet by providing serving utensils and chafing dishes. Food items that needed to stay hot had heating elements and items that needed to stay cold had ice packs. Richard thought of everything! And he is just an overall great guy! We ordered the Hukilau Luau menu and all of the items were amazing:Kalua Pig, Chicken Teriyaki, Stir Fry Vegetables, Lomi lomi Salmon, Garden Salad, Fresh Fruits, Sweet Potato, Steamed Rice, and Banana Cake!Book Aloha Catering!
