Almaden Sushi

Came in for dinner with my family. very friendly staff sat us down with no wait around 6:30. The restaurant is small and intimate there were multiple big partys at one half of the shop but they sat us away which I highly appreciated, our server was attentive and quick. The sushi tasted fresh and was gone within minutes. Price of our bill was a bit much but we did leave satisfied.

I've frequented Amadon Sushi approximately a dozen times with friends who reside nearby, and they consistently relish the food. While it's not my top pick for local sushi, I prefer Sanraku in Oak Ridge Mall for its superior freshness and impeccably balanced rice. Nonetheless, the service and hospitality at Amadon Sushi seem to be the primary draws for my friends, along with its convenient location for them and plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. The ambiance is basic and clean. I recommend Almaden Sushi if it's close in proximity to someone or last minute plans where reservations aren't required.

Had lunch here today with my husband, his nephew,his girlfriend and her mom.Very convenient using Google reservations.We had bento boxes with salmon,gyro,tempura and some type of sushi with jalapeño.We all liked our dishes,so good!I was worried nephew's girlfriend & mom wouldn't like it (they're Japanese) they enjoyed it!Great service too!

This has always been a local spot for my family and I, especially since my dad doesn't like to drive out and try new restaurants. I don't fault him for it, but it's so difficult to find a good spot when you're limited to Almaden only!The quality of fish here is excellent, and their bento deals are decently filling/offer a variety of soup, meat, vegetables, and rice. My only qualm is with the thickness/cut of their sashimi, specifically. It's a bit too thick for my liking, comes with a good amount of the fish itself but it sacrifices the enjoyment almost. The nigiri cuts are good, and their sushi rolls (the first place I ever tried it!) are excellent too. Service is pretty decent, the ambiance is very chill and laid back. Nothing pretentious or trying to be something it's not, you come here for some good sushi!

Good Sushi but their prices have gotten sky high. Won't be going there as much as a result.

I came in around 20:30 just because nothing decent was open nearby around that time and this place has 4 stars on Yelp. After eating here I truly wonder if fellow Yelp reviewers have never had OK Japanese food This place is ridiculously overpriced. Rolls cost a couple more dollars than most Japanese fusion restaurants I've been to in Bay Area, and they come in much smaller portions.The tempura was a joke. The batter they use seemed more suited for Korean fried chicken - very heavy. It left an odd grease flavor in my mouth for hours after.

1 star for service. I stopped by here last minute in between my work. The server lady gave me a long speech as I changed my order from take out to dine in. I mean seriously! I did pay right! Wats the fuss about. And yea, the restaurant was all empty too. So nothing about space issues. Just poor service! I was going to stop by with my friends next time! But guess not now :/

Sushi is fresh and high quality. Good portions on the tempura mix and super friendly staff. I found my new favorite sushi spot! Love this place!

Sushi chefs need to not touch their phones when making sushi. Does not feel clean at all.

The food was poor, Dongas ( fried choke chop ) was dry and it does not have porkchops flavor. The union has cheap and ild smell of th chicken and no taste. It was the worst Sushi restaurant I have ever experienced. Minimum tips, they suggested 18% which ia way high for the quality of the food they offered.It was the first and last visit to this restaurant. The price we paid for simple two dishes were $59 PusTax and 18% tips is ridiculous. is way above normal sushi restaurant yet poor quality food they offered. I compared the same food at Gombei in San Jose, is almost doubled.
