I recently dined here for Sunday brunch and it was above a 4, but less than a 5.The summary: Overall, a bit pricey, but makes sense for the neighborhood and ambiance. Food was really good and no issues with the service. Food wasn't over the top this time around, but my friend & I were kind of basic bitches with our ordering. The deets:The place is cute in an upscale way! Two floors, but the dining room upstairs is the move with those big windows and views of BART and bustling College Ave. Downstairs is really nice as well, more cozy with that wood burning oven, and limited seating. Vibes are perfect for a celebratory evening, date night, biz meeting or in this case a boozy ladies brunch.FYI: From what I could tell, you did need a Sunday brunch rez (which you can do on Yelp), it was busy. The champagne omelet featuring Mt. Tam cheese and spinach was delicious. It came with a ton of potatoes that were sadly room temp. For the $20, I wish it came with maybe some toast, or a little bit of fruit. There's something that could spice it up for $20. The salmon tartine with a side salad was good. The pitcher of mimosas with fresh pineapple juice was delightful. It was my friend's birthday and they let us pick out a complimentary dessert of our choice. We went with the orange olive oil cake and it was solid! They have some fun promos listed on their website. The happy hour looks terrific (hello $8 martinis) and live jazz on Wednesday has me intrigued. 100% I'm coming back for a jazz night. Review update will come.

We've been to Acre a few times since they opened and generally have had a good experience except for our latest visit. We booked a reservation a month and a half in advance for six (five adults and one child) for a triple occasion (birthday, Valentine's Day, retirement) celebration. Anytime we have booked a reservation we were seated upstairs as the lower level is more of a drop in casual experience vs the nicer upstairs. Unfortunately it seems like they over booked themselves and so they stuck us downstairs next to two doors constantly blowing cold air at us in a cramp small table where people standing at the bar kept spilling over into our space. It was very disappointing and when we asked why we were seated downstairs they first said it was first come first serve sort of thing for the upstairs and we should have made a reservation earlier. When we said we made it a month and a half prior they then said that actually we have to specifically request the upstairs. These were clearly excuses made up on the spot and made our experience even worse. Aside from the poor seating the rest of the night was fine and we made the best of it. Service was fine, nothing special but nothing bad. Food and drinks were ok but not great (they were busy so it took a long time), three of five adults ate about half their plates choosing not to finish which you know isn't a great sign. I'm not sure we will be back after that let down. If it was any other night out I wouldn't be so disappointed but given the special occasions, the reservation made well in advance and then the absolutely uncomfortable seating and lack of accountability or apology i'm pretty sour on Acre especially considering all the other great restaurants in the area.

This place has the best skinny fries on the strip--they changed them once, and a lot of people weren't happy about it. Fortunately, they've somehow brought back what works. The restaurant consistently delivers fresh ingredients and interesting menu options. I especially enjoy their salads and rotating dishes. I've even had oysters and some delicious appetizers during happy hour. Overall, it's a great sit-down spot next to Market Hall--just be sure not to upset the lunch hostess by bringing and eating your Market Hall finds on their patio!

This place is so tasty. I have came once for happy hour where we got drinks and oysters. The last time we came was on New Year's Eve. We were sat down right away and staff was super friendly and very accommodating. We ordered a few things off of the menu and everything came out at a pretty good time especially since they were very busy next time I come I would love to sit upstairs to check out the view of college Street. We sat downstairs and could hear a jazz band playing, which was really nice. One of the best dishes we got was the ribeye and fries. It was super juicy and very flavorful. The Woodfire pizza was very tasty and the oysters were also big and flavorful. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by and have a little dinner at this place.

Service was on-point: host was immediately welcoming, servers worked together tending to guests and tables, and management checked in timely. Spacious dining room (upstairs). Trendy decor. Menu has a lot of variety. Branzino was perfect. Ordered it with crispy skin and the kitchen knocked it out of the park. The squash was a perfect little accompaniment. The butternut squash soup was good, not as sweet as most I've had which I enjoy since it was topped with a za'atar spice and whole macadamia nuts. The chocolate demise cake (which is flourless) was dense and perfectly rich. Touched with a luxardo cherry and flakey salt... I wanted more than one slice . My only critique is that the cake was too cold making it somewhat brittle and defiantly not ideal to eat with a spoon. I think I'd order it when I sit down, let it come closer to an ambient temp by the time I'm done with dinner, so that it's a bit softer and creamier. Big thanks to Roy and the rest of the team! I will return soon, and then again, and again.

Came here on a Sunday evening for a quick cocktail and ended up staying for a few snacks.Staff and Service:- The bar upstairs is open seating, so we went up there to fine- There are two floors of seating- The ambiance was casual, but could also be good for a date night - Our server was the bartender and she was fantastic. She made the drinks very wellFood and Drinks:- Oysters: ordered a half dozen oysters, which were good. They were a little on the smaller side, but that's not a negative - Acre chickpea hummus: I would come back for this appetizer alone. This is probably the best hummus I've ever had. It was smooth, seasoned to perfection, and came with fresh vegetables and fresh baked and warm pita bread. We practically licked the dish clean - Dirty martini: when we ask for a dirty martini anywhere, we usually get a regular martini. The bartender was great and made the martini dirty! - Margarita: this was refreshing, delicious, and citrusyMiscellaneous:- Parking is available via metered street parking (free after 6pm and on Sundays) - Good for dates, groups, families, etc.- Happy hour is everyday from 4pm - 6pm

Ambiance 4/5Food 3.5/5Service 3-3.5/5Came here for an anniversary meal; the table was ready early and handicap accessible as requested. We ordered an array of sides and two main dishes. I really liked the beet & apple salad and the focaccia with Aleppo spiced butter; the brussel sprouts were a bit greasy without much flavor. For our main dishes we ordered the shrimp scampi (would not recommend) which came with a generous portion of shrimp but did not taste garlicky despite having chopped garlic in it. We also got the lamb merguez pizza, which was deliciously spicy with muhamarra and chili peppers. Service was prompt, but not super attentive. Overall, I would recommend to try the middle eastern inspired fusion dishes as those were the highlights.

Limited burgers available for diners - luckily my friend and I both got them and they were very delicious. Service was efficient and friendly. Didn't try anything else on the menu.

Started coming here last year because of the $5 martini happy hour, still coming back for the Vaca Verde pizza! One of my favorite pizzas in the East Bay. The location is amazing right next to Bart. And the restaurant has a great vibe to it, especially on a night where they have live music!

There were a lot of ppl at the marketplace (below), so we decided to take a break and have lunch upstairs. The place is beautiful, and the food was simple and delish. The salmon on my salad was cooked perfectly. So crispy on the outside and moist inside, not fully cooked which is how salmon should be cooked. Its dries when you overcook it. Will come back for a relaxing lunch.
