ACHILLES

This little hole in the wall is a great stop. It's been on my husbands list for awhile and their heart shaped falafel is adorable and freshly made. We got the falafel plate and chicken schwarma pocket and both were excellent. They were generous portions. The gentleman at the front, may have been the owner was very kind and welcoming and explained everything well. We'll def be coming back.

Mediterranean comfort food! Whenever I'm in the mood for it, this place comes to mind. This is exclusively a takeout spot and the food has been delicious so far. The staff will really fill up the plate with food, so portions are huge.Ordering is easy, first you choose your meat, style, and lastly, add your complimentary toppings. I've only had the plates, but I think I will try the pocket sandwich next time.For the meat, I usually go with the Falafel because it's my favorite. You can also go with half and half and get two proteins, I've tried the Achilles Chicken and Gyro, both were delicious.For the toppings, you can add everything, but everything gets a bit meshed up and you don't really know what you're eating. It all tastes good though. The essentials toppings for me would be hummus, tomato, cucumbers, olives, onion, tzatziki sauce, and spicy sauce.

Although the place is small (about 2 tables that fit 4 ppl each) the food makes up for it in more ways than one. And don't let the small parking lot fool you, there's additional parking in the back too!Upon entering, we were greeted by what looked like the owner in a very friendly manner and he asked if we had any questions. Ordering is pretty straightforward as you start with your base of protein and then if you wanted a wrap or plate. Then you get to the complimentary add ons. As I was ordering, he was very helpful and insisted on several items to try. Although I only wanted the beef gyro, he was very generous with the portions and even threw in some chicken (which was on the house) as well as 2 falafels. Everything was super delicious and flavorful. My friend who was also there, definitely agrees that the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Had food delivered from here, and not sure if that impacted my experience as I heard great things about Achilles. I do like how you can customize your plates with what veggies and sauces you'd like. I ordered the gyro plate with rice with a side of hummus and tzatziki and veggies like olives, onions and lettuce. We also had an order of their falafels and pita. Falafels were crunchy and not dry, pita extremely fluffy and perfect with the hummus and achilles spread. Large portions, but the gyro and my friend's chicken was incredibly dry and tasted a bit old. Would try again as we may have had an off experience with the delivery.

Just got a chicken shawarma and falafel plate from Achilles in Santa Clara. As usual, the food was amazing, and I had been there a few years back. However, I didn't enjoy the shawarma chicken this time. We were the first customers, and I noticed the shawarma hadn't started yet--the chicken I got was from the steamer, making it tough to chew. It would be better to inform customers if the shawarma isn't freshly made, as it left a bad impression. Next time, I'll only order it if I see it being prepared fresh if i am ever here.My wife enjoyed the falafel plate as the falafels were made fresh.

Friendly and casual spot for yummy food!We got the chicken shawarma plate with all the toppings and tzatziki and tahini sauce! Portions were massive and service was very friendly! The guy even asked us if we liked beef and gave us extra gyros for free! Food was filling and well flavored. Meat was super yummy too! I would come back again :))

Okay, hole in the wall no frills kinda spot. They serve very few things which is really just a plate or a wrap with various meat and complimentary side options. We went with the beef gyro plate and omg this definitely filled the gyro and rice craving. We opted for the tzatziki sauce and spicy sauce and basically got all available sides minus the olives and were soooo happy with the flavor of all the food! The baba ganoush (had a nice smokey flavor to it) and the spread were my two personal favorites. Highly recommended! There's some outdoor seating too so it's a quick and casual grab and go kinda place. They do charge an extra 4% for credit card so if you're not down for that then come with cash prepared. Honestly I just had it this past Sunday and I wouldn't mind having it again today.

Quality/Quantity - It was hot and I was not too hungry today. Plus we were going to another brewery and as you already know, sometimes I just have a liquid meal, lol. Got the combo with both chicken, chicken shawarma and achilles chicken, with tahini and amba sauces. I added all the complimentary items. :) Needless to say, generous portions. My wife got dessert, the second best seller as the #1 item was sold out.Catering was also available.Atmosphere -Small local business. Currently outdoor seating only.Open 6 days a week from 11am to 9pm, closed Mondays.Plenty of mall parking.Service - 5 stars. They noticed we were first time customers (not really, but it has been a long time since we have been back in the neighborhood). A great takeout spot for Mediterranean food! I saw so many great reviews of this place and knew I had to check it out. It's a small place with some outdoor seating, but better for a to-go situation. I ordered a salad with chicken shawarma, baba ghanouj, tomatoes, and cucumbers. For my spreads I chose tzatziki and spicy sauce. Everything tasted pretty good but nothing special. However it was great value because the portions are huge and toppings are unlimited.

Found another Mediterranean restaurant with good comfort food at a reasonable price. The place is low key and relaxed. If you want a casual dining experience, this is a good place to just chill and eat your yummy plate of food. I ordered the Beef Gyro plate and it was pretty good. The meat was tasty and pairs well with their sauce. It's pretty satisfying and filling. Estimated cost of $25 for your meal, with drinks and tip. The service was casual. You order from the counter and they make it for you there and give you the food after you pay. I have to go back to try the Chicken Shawarma and the other food from their menu. I saw sweets and desserts too on display.
