Quaint and unpretentious. Superb french home cooking. The joint is basically tucked into this padded enclave in the west village where you have to walk 2 blocks in any direction to hit any real traffic. This makes the corner super quiet and pleasant: very evocative of what I glean they're going for here. The menu is short and simple: home cooking from the french countryside. The chef is clearly bold enough to take risks (vegetable terrine and a ratatouille in the winter) but it pays off. The terrine was simple, nothing too crazy, but really good. The lamb stew warmed my heart. Delicious and exemplary of the best you can hope for from a grandmother with a lifetime of experience. Even though the place just opened, it felt like everyone was a regular. Someone at the bar was eating alone and chatting with the manager and it didn't seem like an employee??Prices were reasonable, save for a $250 truffle pasta which we politely declined.Great spot and I hope they change the menu quickly so that I can come back and try more.

Zimmi's has my heart! My boyfriend and I had stumbled upon Zimmi's on social media and could not wait to check out the menu! The ambiance and service are fantastic and the food is out of this world! We made a reservation a few weeks back and have been on the edge of our seat to try the food; upon our arrival we were quickly taken to our table (highly recommend making a reservation). We were then given our menus and asked if we wanted to kick-off with some drinks, I had a dirty martini (so perfect) and my boyfriend had a half bottle of Syrah (which was chilled and full of flavor) From there we placed our food order:Appetizers:- French fries (not on the menu, these fries blew our mind! Crispy and full of seasoning!) - Moules Farcies (these mussels are incredible! And trying to explain the flavor would not do it justice) order this dish!!Main courses:- Pasta Davia (the pesto alongside the beans just melted my heart! I am still dreaming about all the flavors) - Échine De Porc (my boyfriend said was something special that touched his soul and melted in his mouth) Dessert:- Pavé Au Chocolate (not my favorite, but if you like rich chocolate desserts then this would be right up your alley) the crème anglaise was wonderful and full of zest!I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed Zimmi's!If you are looking for the perfect date night restaurant in the West Village, look no further than Zimmi's

Intimate, with charm on fleek. A hit out of the gate. This highly anticipated spot delivers French fare so expertly executed & divinely delicious.I walked in at 5:12 & scored a table.Seating is cozy emphatically so & this is a post covid type seating for sure, but the buzz in the room is real so be prepared.Water glasses are European sized.Ate:Sourdough bread & butterRatatouille Salmon with beans & turnips Pave au chocolateThe salmon & beans were incredible! The beans rivaled some of the top bean dishes I've tasted and I'm into my beans.the pave chocolate with crème anglais was petite perfection.Total:$89 before tipAlso, service was so down to earth & unpretentious which is much appreciated.

I had the pleasure of visiting newly opened Zimmi's, a French-inspired restaurant in the West Village that had been on my radar for months before opening. We snagged a reservation right when bookings opened and were thrilled to experience this charming spot. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the owners had put a lot of thought into creating an inviting atmosphere. The space was cozy and intimate, with every table filled and the small bar bustling with walk-ins. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We were seated promptly, and though the tables were close together, it added to the warm, intimate vibe of the restaurant. The menu was impressive, and we indulged in a variety of dishes: pesto pasta, pork collar, fritters as appetizers, and a decadent chocolate dessert paired with dessert wine. The oysters were a standout for me, served on a charming grass-lined plate. The cocktails were excellent--strong and perfectly crafted. One unexpected highlight was the sourdough bread with butter--simple but absolutely delicious and a must-try. The service was a bit on the slower side, but given that the restaurant is relatively new, it's understandable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and one of the owners even took time to check in with diners, which was a nice touch. The pricing was surprisingly reasonable--about $100 each when split, including two cocktails and dessert. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and Zimny's brings a refreshing vibe to the West Village dining scene

Love the location. The interior albeit tight, and small, was still cozy and lovely on these cold winter evenings. The service was superb. It was, at times hard to hear the server, especially when he was sharing the specials and describing the dishes but that minor inconvenience was overshadowed but every moment there. The drink I ordered, I don't remember the name, BUT I remember the main ingredient was saffron gin and she was delightful. The ratatouille and stuffed mussels were delectable. I don't typically like ratatouille but this one won me over. Perfectly seasoned, severed room temp and slightly spicy I think.. made me cough a bit. Haha.. not sure why. The mussels were so fresh. So well seasoned. So perfectly cooked. I would order again and again and I'm not usually one for a hot mussel lol.. but this one was divine!! The pork collar. Get! It! Even if you don't eat much pork you will be very thankful you at least tried it. My gawd!!.. that bad boy was amazing!! The pork! The shallots! The sauce! Hey now!!!! So! Deee! Lish! We both wanted to have dessert but we couldn't fit anything more in our bellies.. maybe bc we were partially filled on the bread & butter prior to our entrees.. so lucky for us they provided complimentary shortbread cookies.. which might I add were perfection! Like.. do they make anything just ok?? I dunno. I didn't order it if so lol - will definitely be going again when I can get a resy. And I can not wait to do so. Honestly astounding! Thank you Zimmi's!!

Cute spot, though nothing on the menu really spoke to me. Best dishes were the pork collar and tagliatelle with chicken ragu. Thought service was very smooth, especially for only being open several weeks. Tables are very close together and actually need to be moved to make space to get up.

Charming little bistro on a charming little street in the West Village. But charm shouldn't come at quite so high a price. An order of (quite good) bread & butter for $12 ? Rice pudding for $28 ? Dinner for two, without dessert and with one glass of wine each was over $220 (before tip). What I was hoping would be a lovely neighborhood joint is priced as an upper east side destination. Service is attentive and kind; the music is kept low; and the food can be inventive, though portions are small. This may be exactly the restaurant they had in mind, even it's not what I was hoping for.And I'll be back. But not very often....

Zimmi's is a new French restaurant in the West Village. A small, quaint, cozy dining room with a few seater bar, excellent service, and great food.We had;Sourdough bread and butter - very good.Soupe D'Artichaut - artichoke soup with foie gras. This was excellent, a nice piece of foie gras lays in the middle of the soup. The contrasting flavors of the soup to foie gras made the dish.La Pastasciutta - tagliatelle with chicken ragu. Favorite dish of the night and one of the best new pastas in the city.Pasta Davia - linguine with pesto genovese and beans. Zimmi's can do pasta as this was another great dish. The pesto sauce was excellent.Note - both pastas are decent size portions with a lot of flavor. They could easily be an entree for one.Saupiquet D'Agneau - lamb stew, packed a very herbal flavor and the lamb meat was tender and juicy. It was very good.Side Of Fries - excellent big portion of fries that were being offered with the special steak for the night or as a side dish.Rice pudding - creamy and good.Zimmi's was crowded the night we went and will probably be getting more popular in the weeks to come. Reservations are recommended.
