Always a great time at Zaca. I love the French toast and shrimp + grits. Service is quick and personable (Vanessa is so sweet). They also have wifi if you need to get work done. I'm always looking for spiritual spots, too -- the ancestral decor and traditional masks make the space feel so homey. Also, Zaca's prices really can't be beat -- $12-$14 for great food. Shrimp + grits were $22.

Was in the area and stopped for a bite to eat. The location was bustling for a Sunday afternoon. I got the salmon bugger with fries and a side of mac and cheese. All items were delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Service was pretty quick after ordering and the waitress was helpful. The inside had a chill vibe.

We got there a few mins after they open stood outside maybe 5 mins or so to give them time to set up but when we went in they already had a few people in there so didn't feel bad. The place is small but no issues with that I like cozy ambiance styles.Food was really good on my end and my brother got the avocado toast with pork sausage on side look really tasty I got the French toast that had a different take on them with the bread I loved!! For a simple 3 items(Caramelized apples, bananas and blueberries)with no fluff or wild amounts of sugar it was a 10/10.My side order of eggs (overease) was really good as well did perfectly tasted. Also loved my organic breakfast blend tea, love that they carry Atlantic salmon not farm raised, love that they have real Honey and Maple syrup can't major foodie points for that. so

When it was all said and done, I can say the food is okay, but the service and ambiance is what makes for a fun visit.I ordered a fried chicken with a waffle and it was fair. The chicken was moist and had a good fry, but the waffle was very sweet and possibly undercooked. The fruit it was served with was not fresh either.Sitting on a pillow and the bubbly yet pretty bartender was a nice touch. I also liked the eclectic music. Unfortunately none of it stayed down, so as a result I am knocking the rating a little. The French-American cuisine is apparent here, but feels so out of character for the neighborhood. While fun, I likely will not return.

Really nicely decorated. If you identify as a black woman, you will feel celebrated seeing all of the vibrant art on their cushions, paintings and other decorative pieces.Service was great; the server was so attentive and the owner stepped out to let me know where the best spot was for my office work. I ordered a latte w/ almond milk, the Zaca Platter and their pancakes. The grits in the Zaca platter was too good; well seasoned and the salsa verde is something I'm going to add to my scrambled eggs going forward. The pancakes were fluffy and crispy on the edges. Such a great spot and the prices are so reasonable for the quality of food you enjoy.

Delicious omelette, seasoned potatoes with peppers.. a lemonade that was delicious but maybe a little too sweet (just dilute with water). Service was sweet but i would probably eat inside if theres a next time. Was pestered for almost half my meal by one of the homeless men .. a manager sitting outside ended up offering him a meal to get him to stop engaging me cuz he really wouldnt stop after my firm 'no's'.

I'm in love after just one visit. Must get back here very soon. This is a quaint cafe with an Afrocentric atmosphere. Comfortable and friendly wait staff. Vanessa gets extra points as a very pleasant and patient waitress. We took awhile to decide on what we wanted. The food was superb and I really mean that. Fresh, well seasoned and tasty. I was happy to hear that they are expanding as more space is always great when you have a GOOD thing. Don't miss an opportunity for amazing food and service.

Zaca is a reliable, consistent neighborhood spot that I honestly should swing by more often. On my latest trip I had the most decadent Croque Madame that wasn't just ham and cheese. That sandwich had the richest bechamel on it, making the sandwich far exceed my expectations of the meal. I strayed from the steak panini that typically catches my eye. On a whim I also ordered the chicken soup and it was delicious. I'll definitely be swinging by to pick some up once the winter months return. Other diners enjoyed pancakes, chicken and waffles, mimosas, and other fare. A family with kids was there along with couples and friends, so I'd say it's friendly for all. The space is a bit tight, but there's also outdoor seating as an option. The menu is pretty extensive, with options to suit most tastes.

Zaca Cafe is a black owned business in Bedstuy Brooklyn, NY. Open since May 2018, Zaca is a small storefront, hidden gem that you wouldn't want to overlook. It's a great place to grab coffee on one side with a full restaurant/bar on the other. Although the space may be small the portion -size served is very full. This French American cuisine serves flavor and soul-filled dishes for both brunch and lunch. It's a cool, intimate vibe with an excellent reputation for customer service
