The ambiance of this restaurant was so classy and romantic! I loved the dimmed lighting because it really sets the mood. The servers are also so knowledgeable about the fish and very attentive to the customers. We drank white wine and highballs and it paired well with the sushi ahead. We started off with the oysters. They weren't too brined which makes it enjoyable. I loved how the nigiri's had the right amount of rice, wasabi and fish. I thought the prices were reasonable for the food. I loved the toro caviar and the spicy salmon was delicious. We also ate salmon nigiri spicy chili oil and kanpachi and truly kanpachi has to be my favorite fish!

From the moment I walked in, the place was magical. Not only beautiful but the bartender and servers were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and fun. Wokuni started many years ago as a fish farm and now have 80 restaurants in Japan. This is their first in NYC with another one coming soon. The special of the day was out of this world tuna and another dish I tried that was a recommendation (forgot the type of fish, sorry) that was only fed tangerines was delicious as was the large piece of eel. My happy hour saki (served in a little box that was a literal sidecar of more saki) kept me happy too! I had an incredible meal and will be back to celebrate my 60th next month!

They were closed at 9:45 on a Thursday!! So odd!!I wonder if it is that post-pandemic fad of restaurants shuttering early.NOT RECOMMENDED.

Great space, great food. If looking for the lunch set, you have to come early as they sell out quick. However, their other options are just as delicious. I decided to go with the Daiginjo Bara Chirashi and it was delicious! So much fish and variety on top of well seasoned sushi rice. I really liked the dish. Their fish was super fresh tasting and it was filling. The service was super attentive.Just a heads up, they will seat you for lunch if your party is not complete but you cannot order their lunch set ahead of time if you are ordering the limited sets. You can order for yourself but not for the person you are still waiting for. Still worth it.

Easily one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the city! The sleek and modern ambiance sets the tone for a fantastic dining experience. It's effortlessly stylish and has a "date night" vibe that makes it perfect for special occasions. I came here for my birthday. Service was fast and attentive. My favorite dish is the kaisen hitsumabushi ($49) . The portion size was massive. Every bite was packed with vibrant flavors and high-quality ingredients that felt carefully curated. You definitely get your money's worth with this dish!

Great upscale sushi spot. The yellow tail jalapeño appetizer is great and they often have weekly specials. The Otoro is amazing and reasonably priced. Service was pretty good although they kept pushing for drink orders.

I've been coming here for a while now, including for their amazing happy hour ($13 for sake/wine and karaage), for dinner (great sushi and overall food), and for a business lunch. The restaurant is kind of sleek and modern, without coming off as too over the top. It's great for dining with friends and solo at the barIn terms of variety, there is so much on offer here. I've gotten the drinks here, the karaage/fried chicken, fish collar, sushi (both nigiri and rolls) and some soup. Everything has been really good.I know they have a tuna cutting event every month or so, and I still have to check that out.

Perfect spot for a last-minute girls' lunch! The chirashi bowl was delicious, with incredibly fresh fish. Can you tell that I enjoyed the bowl?? Great selection of appetizers, drinks, and entrees. Waitress was great at suggesting items to our group. Will be back.

I don't know how I hadn't discovered Wokuni until now. What a gem of a find! I stopped by for lunch on a weekend, arriving around 20 minutes after they opened. Why? I wanted to try the Wokuni-don and they only make 8 servings of this dish per day. When they are out, they are out! Soon after being seated I looked around and noticed that at least 3 other people were eating this special dish. Well that was quick! And yes, I immediately placed my order for this dish. The small bowl of edamame and a small salad arrived first. Soon thereafter the main attraction arrived. The bowl of assorted sashimi, rice and tempura looked lovely with the fish artistically arranged. It came with miso soup and a side of pickled vegetables. There for 4 or 5 types of fish, along with tamago and ikura. The assorted fish were very fresh, providing a good mix of textures and tastes. Shrimp and vegetable tempura were both offered and they were expertly fried. This was not frozen tempura and the batter was tender and flaky. There was just enough rice to accompany this dish. The tamago was fluffy and ever so slightly sweet. The menu is available via QR code. Service was top notch. The staff are very attentive. The ambiance is modern and and sleek but its not at all stuffy. Yes, lunch was a bit pricier than what I typically pay but it was worth every penny. I would love to come back for dinner and even for one of their tuna entertainment nights where they break down a bluefin tuna in front of their guests in the dining room.
