What's not to like .. old school good eats. Had to ask for the crispy noodles that they put on the table, but they were so worth it. Love good Chinese it's just hard to find in Jersey !! Always return here

Wo Hop primarily caters to foreigners (non-Chinese), as we were privately told by one of the servers. Sure enough, we were the only Chinese (and only Asians) inside. And the food is also very Americanized. I'd recommend going next door to their sister restaurant for more authentic (more Chinese) cuisine.Cash only. Menu is diverse and also online if you'd like to order ahead. Line was reasonable and the wait was about 20 min. There's only about a dozen tables downstairs and it's a bit cramped. Prices were very affordable and portions were generous, but offset by the mediocre quality. The roast pork noodle was ... well, honestly, I've never seen anything like it (not necessarily in a good way); it tastes slightly better than it looks, but it's obviously something given to foreigners, as it's definitely not Chinese food. The fried scallops and black bean sauce string beans were a better representation of Chinese food, however. Still, the black bean sauce was watered down and the string beans weren't crispy or flavorful. No wok hay. Tasted like it was from a can. Scallops were good but expensive.Overall, I'm pretty sure most of the reviews here were from foreigners. Probably wouldn't go back, but I might try next door instead. The original Wo Hop was very disappointing and not a true representation of Chinese food, though I can understand that they're likely just pandering to their non-Asian clientele.

First came here with my grandmother in 1973It's like nothing has changed ....including the wait staff! . Eating this yummy , some fried and oily food how do these people live so long?Anyway, it's a well known tourist spot now , has huge portions of Cantonese style food and you just simply get inundated with the smell, sounds, steam and tastes of all your favorite Chinese dishes! The crowded street has a few other noteworthy Chinese food places and all of these have Duck sauce , which is all but non existent in The Bay Area of California!

On our first trip to NYC, we visited this spot after hearing rave reviews about their eggrolls, often described as "life-changing" and "the best you'll ever have." Naturally, we were excited as we waited in the long line outside. Unfortunately, the eggrolls fell far short of the hype. They were nothing more than fried wrappers stuffed with raw, unseasoned cabbage--completely overrated in our opinion.Thankfully, the other items we ordered were both delicious and generously portioned, making for an enjoyable meal overall. The customer service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively, with a packed house and a constant line of patrons. The walls are decorated with photos of famous celebrities and dollar bills, adding a unique charm to the place. The table was shared with another family and separated by a clear plexiglass. If you're visiting, skip the eggrolls and try something else on the menu.

A packed underground (literally) restaurant located in Chinatown, Manhattan. My party visited during dinner time, and there was a long line to get seated. However, orders are taken quickly and food comes out almost instantly to get the line moving!Portions are gigantic! I recommend 2-3 dishes for 3 people. Our top item was definitely the spare ribs, seasoned well and very tender! The hot and sour soup was warm and hearty, and sweeter than other versions i've tried. I loved the thick, chewy skin of the wontons but I wish they had more meat filling!Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting Wo Hop! It has a homey vibe, quick service, and delicious food!

Amazing casual Chinese food! The portions are huge and the food was delicious. If I had to get one thing it would be the cold sesame noodles! They were so good. We also love the Lo mein. Really great noodles here. The egg rolls were massive and we would recommend splitting one with someone. Overall, we loved it and will be back. Our servers were attentive and quick. There is a smaller underground locations best for small parties and a larger above ground section next door that is best for bigger partiesNote this is a cash only establishment!

Cash only!!Tiny spot with extremely quick service. The food is fairly priced, great serving sizes and delicious. It's a little greasy but in a great way. Came in to do a little sampling with friends and both steamed and fried dumplings were great. Noodles had a great wok hei smokiness that I still think about. Their mustard...be warned is sooooo pungent but delicious and great at cutting the fattiness and greasiness of a fried dumpling. Will clear your nostrils!

This place is amazing but there are some things you need to know before you go:1. They are cash only. There is a little ATM beside the store but there is obviously a processing fee so bring cash if you can.2. They will seat you quickly but don't stay for too long. When we were done eating, our waitress made it clear that they needed that table to seat other incoming customers lol. 3. The portions are good sized so get several entrees and share with your family or friends. My husband and I got a half order of the Peking duck, pork chow mein, and curry beef. All were excellent and I will be daydreaming about the chow mein for months lol. We had lots of leftovers to take home.

I feel like if you've never been to Wo-Hop where have you been really? It's an undisputed staple in Chinatown. I can go on and on about the food, but just tell the server your taste and go with their recommendations. I've tried just about every dish that doesn't contain pork, and I've never been disappointed. The servers won't stear you wrong. I've been coming here for atleast 20 years. My parents first brought us here, and now I take my kids. It's that kind of place. And now with the expanded space outside, our kids can be a bit louder, and ask all the questions their hearts desire without disturbing anyone lol. A must try in chinatown!

Have been coming here since I was born basically. My parents worked at the WTC when I was born, so we always came here with their group of friends. One of my earliest memories in life so Wo Hop holds a very special place in my heart. Yes the downstairs is the main spot but the upstairs is still so worth it. Very friendly staff, food comes out quick. Takeout option is very easy food's always ready when you order from online Cash only, don't forget!
