Came in on a Friday night around 6pm and we were able to be seated at the bar immediately. The service and ambiance at the bar were still great. Food recs from the bartender were delicious. We had 3 dishes: the scallion pancakes, pork fried buns, and sesame noodles and were satisfied/full with the amount of food. Everything was reasonably priced imo.

We had a lovely late lunch at Win Son, a Taiwanese bakery we'd heard about while in the area. The place was buzzing with a mix of dine-in guests and takeout orders. There were plenty of booths available, though a short wait might be expected. The process is simple: place your order first, then find a table, and your food will be brought to you.We tried the Shrimp Milk Bun, which came with fries since it was after 3:30 pm. The shrimp milk bun was delicious, though slightly on the smaller side, while the fries were exceptional. We also sampled the Pastrami Beef Tongue sandwich with Havarti and ginger--an intriguing and tasty choice.Curious to try something unique, we ordered the Black Sesame Latte. The subtle black sesame flavor was present in every sip, making it a pleasant surprise.Overall, it was a delightful meal. We spent about $51 before tips. If you're looking for a lively spot to hang out, Win Son is worth a visit.

Came by on a random Monday for dinner and drinks and Win Son did not disappoint! We shared a bunch of smaller plates and the lu rou fan. Definitely get the basil clams in the curry sauce as it comes with scallion pancakes you can dip it in. Service was quick and staff were pleasant. Be wary that their single dessert is HUGE. It will easily feed 4. Think caramel glazed donut sandwiched a 4in thick sesame ice cream cube covered in peanuts.

Holy cow did this place blow me away!! I've been to the bakery and it's excellent so I never had the need for dinner but found myself here and I couldn't believe how excellent it is! We tried so many dishes and each one was a hit and I would order again - the portions were also huge and well worth the price! My personal favorite was the fried chicken sandwich which was a bit sweet but still savory and soo good! The space is also really nice and a cool chill vibe with nice music that wasn't too loud. The service was...indifferent? They seemed not happy but not unhappy we were there, the server poured me more water and I said thanks and they said "yeah." So definitely not the best service but nothing to complain about and everything came out promptly.

Great great food! I ordered on DoorDash, and the food came fresh and crispy still! It came fast too. I can't comment on the vibes of the place, but I've always seen long lines. But the food came fast, and it did not disappoint. My favorite thing was possibly the mochi doughnut, or the BEC scallion pancake. Literally all of it was good!

I think I came here with high expectations. Win Son has been all over my feed as one of the best Taiwanese restaurants, and I brought a group of coworkers with hopes to share some Taiwanese cuisine with them. While most dishes tasted good, it's like I got something different from what I ordered. Service was also very slow, and required reminders for our drink orders. We started with marinated cucumbers and fried eggplant. We had ordered the fried cured mullet roe topping for the cucumbers, but I definitely didn't see or taste any of that flavor. Nonetheless, these appetizers were tasty! Eggplant was crispy, and the cucumber was garlicky. Next, the oyster omelette with shrimp. Aside from the main ingredients, this barely has any notes of the original Taiwanese flavor. No iconic bouncy (QQ) texture from starch. The sauce, while also inaccurate, was decent. Zhajiangmian had lamb in it. Why? This tasted nothing like the Chinese, Taiwanese, or Korean variations, and was more like a Szechuan lamb noodle. Still, it tasted pretty good?Big chicken bun had a good night market fried chicken cutlet inside. This tasted good and was fried well!Flies head was also pretty authentic, and was a big hit with everyone. Could be spicier, but thats fine. Mullet roe pasta was really tasty. Probably my favorite dish that night. It was creamy and had great bite to the noodles. The Lu rou fan was also pretty good. Very fatty and coats the rice well. Flavor is also a little different, but not as far off as others. Overall, the best I can give win son is a 4/5, leaning towards a 3.5. While the food was mostly tasty, the lack of relation to the name of the original dish they're profiting off of does not sit right with me. Maybe the bakery is better.

The restaurant would probably be better for lunch vibes. I went towards the evening/dinner and it just felt kind of dark and loud. The food is also geared more towards breakfast/brunch which also did not fit the time at which I went. I would probably enjoy the experience better in the daytime, so I may come back.I ordered the beef tongue sandwich, and it was good! I also ordered a seasonal donut as a sweet treat which was unique and hearty.

Good quality but pricey Taiwanese food. Lu Rou fan 7/10It is nicely seasoned and prepared and only about half the container is rice. $30. Fried eggplant 6/10Small serving of eggplant, some salt seasoning. $15.If you want takeout you have to use their website and checkout online. It'll take about 10-15 minutes. Saturday late morning still had lots of seating available. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly.

Ambiance and service were great here! Decided to swing by since my friend and I love the bakery......unfortunately the food was very underwhelming and expensive. We had the pan fried pork buns (literally fried xiaolongbao, which is a travesty as a Chinese person), fried chicken and waffles (which was decent but the chicken was undercooked and the batter was goopy), and the Lu rou fan which was egregiously priced at $31 and tasted odd (sour and spicy notes not typically associated with this dish)Overall would not recommend--stick to the bakery across tne street

One of my favourite restaurants in Brooklyn! The Big Chicken Bun is divine!!! Super crispy chicken with an incredible mayo on chinese bolo bun Lu Rou Fan was alright, wouldn't re-order next time. I also recommend the dessert on the mochi donut. I was seated outside this time, but I think it's better to wait for an inside seat if wait is sub 15-20 minutes.
