Haven't been here for a while so decided to come here with friends for a weekday lunch. The set lunch menu is now circa $17 for two courses with large variety to choose from. I ordered the pork and shrimp dumpling to start with followed by chicken volcano as recommended. Both were very tasty, and my friends enjoyed theirs as well. Came here during a snow day so it was nice and intimate for a catch up.

Wan Waan is a new Thai restaurant located in the Chelsea neighborhood. Since it had been a while since we had Thai food, we decided to give this place a visit. The restaurant boasts a spacious interior with a relaxing ambiance, making it a pleasant dining experience. To begin our dinner, we indulged in our favorite drinks and opted to share two appetizers: 1. Roti Massaman; consisted of a delectable combination of roti pancake served with chicken, onion, and peanuts in a Massaman curry dipping sauce. 2. Calamari Spice; featured calamari cooked with black pepper and crispy jalapeños, served alongside sweet chili sauce and spicy mayo. Both appetizers were perfect for sharing. For our main course, we ordered a variety of dishes to share family-style. These included:1. Pad Thai: A classic dish consisting of thin rice noodles, tofu, bean sprouts, chives, preserved radish, peanuts, and egg, served with pork.2. Thai Fried Rice: An egg fried rice dish with Chinese broccoli, onions, scallions, and tomatoes, accompanied by chicken.3. Gra Prao Ped Yang: This dish featured half-roasted duck, bell peppers, onions, carrots, and string beans in a chili basil sauce, topped with crispy basil leaves. We found the portions to be quite generous and felt like we may have ordered too much, but we enjoyed our dinner overall. However, none of the dishes truly amazed us. The flavors and presentation were typical Americanized Thai restaurants, which left us wanting a more authentic experience.

Came here on a Saturday to meet up with a couple of friends. My friend had made a reservation previously but apparently she never got a confirmation and even gave them a call. Walking in they said that we could sit at the bar, but a table was available in 20 min so we decided to wait. It didn't seem completely full, but perhaps there were other reservations at a later time. For food, they have happy hour that included a bunch of small tapas and drinks. We tried the dumplings and the sausage as well as a pad kee mao and the phuket crab curry. All were very delicious. The pad kee mao has a good kick, but if you can handle spice it's perfect. Service was efficient and wait staff was friendly.

Wan Waan offers authentic Thai cuisine in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Staff is incredibly friendly. The braised beef was so tender and hearty. I rarely see this dish in Thai restaurants, so I needed to try it - it was awesome! 4 stars-- would definitely try them again.

Food: I came here for dinner with a friend and ordered the Shrimp Basil Thai Stir Fry with White Rice. I liked that I was also able to customize my order so that it was not spicy. Overall, the dish was flavorful, savory, and fresh. The speed of the service was fast, we were sat quickly, and our waiter was friendly. I would recommend this restaurant if you're craving Thai food!

Amazing food (HH from open to 8pm DAILY).Pad Thai w chicken: great flavor although not the best I've had. The tofu included was firm/ soy tofu and not fried. Fried tofu (HH): flavorless as expected. Chicken wing (HH): very fatty but not bad. The sauce reminds me of a cha siu/ Chinese bbq with oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar type shi. Service was decent and I will DEF be back. Who wanna meet me there for HH?

TLDR: Solid Thai spot in the area! Would come back FOOD: I had Khao Soi and the Drunken Noodle here and quite liked both! SERVICE: Not bad, but felt a bit rushed out (it was near closing time so I get it). AMBIANCE: Simple, nothing to really write home about. Not bad but not exciting. OVERALL: Will be back sometime!

First impression of the restaurant was pretty good, as there is a nice trendy vibe with cool decor and a nice bar and table seating area. The staff are also pretty friendly and attentive. As for the food though, it was decent but honestly more like typical Thai take-out food quality rather than proper restaurant quality. I got the Crab Meat Pad Thai ($23), which did have a good amount of crab meat, but I thought could've used some more flavor and wasn't otherwise noteworthy. I also ordered the Chicken Volcano ($20), which was just some sautéed chicken with broccoli, cashews, and pineapple chunks. It was covered in a very slightly spicy sauce which I thought was actually pretty good but maybe a bit too much. The chicken was a good middle ground between crispy and tender though. Again, this quality is more what I would've expected if I ordered take-out and put this on my plate at home. The prices were okay considering it's NYC.I have to note though that at one point during our meal, there was a medium sized bug that crawled down the wall toward our table, which the staff quickly killed. Certainly didn't leave us with much appetite though... honestly if it weren't for that, I might have considered giving this place 4 stars but that certainly solidified 3 stars for me.If you're hungry and happen to be in the area or just looking for take-out, Wan Waan can get the job done, but otherwise I wouldn't go out of your way to come here.

Ribeye panang. The coconut milk curry was so rich, with ribeye steak it was even more luscious. The steak was perfectly seared, with a nice char on the outside, and remained tender and juicy on the inside. The fat cap was so delicious melting in your mouth like butter.Pla rui saun. Don't let bones stop you from savoring a delicious whole fish! Crispy fried fish topped with fresh salad, served with zesty, sweet and spicy sauce, complemented by fresh herbs and crunchy cashews. This is an orchestra of flavors and textures.Sai oua. Tried it for the first time, an iconic dish from northern Thailand. It has distinctive flavors from aromatic herb blends. Pad thai. You can't go wrong with this classic dish! A blend of sweet, savory, umami flavors. The noodle was chewy, al dente.Crispy tofu salad. Love the peanut dressing, so nutty, savory, tangy and sweet! For drinks we ordered Thai iced tea with whipped cream and mojito. Both were great!

On a Friday night, I came here with 7 friends. We didn't have an issue getting a table. It was the Friday before Halloween and the restaurant was covered with decorations to celebrate it.I ordered the Tom Kha Gai and it was delicious. It was hot and it was full of mushrooms and chicken. The waitress and waiter were very attentive to us. They kept refilling up our cups of water.I recommend this restaurant for the foods and the service.
