Meet my cousin and son in law here. Definitely a guys spot. The building is old as well as the restaurant in a good way. We sat in the bar area. Very lively. Our waiter was great. We shared the hummus platter which was ok. And the potato pancakes with smoked salmon. That was insanely delicious. I had a henricks martini that was made properly and delicious. And got the pasta bolognese. Nothing on the menu is over $30. A real throwback to something good. Can't wait to go back

This place sucks ! Food is extremely basic as in basic steak , mashed potatoes ,meatloaf that is baby boomer type food basic . They really need to update their menu . The crowdthat goes in here is an older crowd . Im middle aged myself but the vibe there is family and older after work bar goers. Not even exciting bar goers just an older crowd . Don't get the idea that it's older working class it's more like older boring class . Food is like Denny's food by the way . Really basic really baby boomer type. Service was nothing special, so nothing to write about . The place doesn't have an identity . They could really do a classy bar makeover . I feel like people go here more for the name than anything else and that is very misleading to patrons . I wouldn't go here again as I could just go to any other boring diner bar in the city . I have a feeling whoever owns this place knows of the faults but refuses to acknowledge them . To the owner ; you can't rely on the name for so long because after a while word will get around that this isn't the spot to hang out and have a meal . They have small menu which isn't a problem but with baby boomer classics like roasted turkey and gravy , meatloaf sandwich , roast beef sandwich and just regular meatloaf . Come on man !! If people don't believe me just go in yourself . It's such a non hip and exciting place that is pro family and baby boomer that they have crayons so kids can draw on the sheets . So if you're looking for delicious food , nice atmosphere and chill this isn't it .

Very friendly neighborhood bar, with just enough food to satisfy your cravings for a little something to go with your favorite beer, liquor or wine. Bartender staff was very friendly, the drinks were exactly as expected and our food showed up quickly. From the price to the experience, this is tough to beat in Tribeca

Came here during the Tribeca film festival. Very friendly staff. Ordered the Grain Bowl very tasty. The bar tender was super understanding. Told him was in a rush and he put my order in with a rush. Very chill vibe. Highly recommend.

Been coming here since 1990. Totally amused last time I was there. Server got everything I ordered and I mean everything I ordered wrong. One consolation was friendliness of server who never came back to ask if everything was OK. Something's never change . Will still go because it's in the hood

A great local bar in New York that has been in business since the 1880s ! I had a cheeseburger with imported Koch beer both Excellent . Many types of beer are on tap from Peroni to Guinness to Allagash white and any type of mixed drink can be prepared by the experienced bartender . A very friendly staff compliments Wakers vintage neighborhood vibe in New York's Tribeca . They have two TVs with sports and upbeat music that is not loud and cool .The interior is all original from the wooden floor to the tin ceiling from the 19th century. I just had dinner with two friends, one from Switzerland and one from Germany . They enjoyed having a genuine non touristy New York experience.

Came in spur of the moment after touring the ghost busters fire station. Mostly empty for 2p. A round of drinks and food later, we left happy.I made a weird order, side of grilled chicken and side of mashed potatoes--they very easily accommodated. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and so juicy. Potatoes were lovely as well and creamy. Wait staff were very friendly.

After waiting 35 minutes for the bartender and then seeing a white crowd step into the exact same place we were standing and be served within seconds it made me question the situation. The bartender was older gentleman, so perhaps he was just having a hard time seeing new people standing at one end of the bar, but my girlfriends who walked in after me and were white didn't seem to have the same challenge getting a drink...Being the only people of color in a room (we were 9) and not being able to get a drink just feels strange. Curious to know what experience others were having.

We were a party of five. Everyone enjoyed their food a great deal except for me. I had a chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was well-cooked but the dressing was not great and I saw zero Parmesan cheese on the salad. My wife had a chicken sandwich she said was amazing. Service was pretty bad. My wife ordered a glass of wine that she never received. I had to keep going to look for our server, which was not ideal. Four out of five of us loving the food gets a four out of five stars, however.
