If you're in the area, you should eat like the locals and this is where they go! Definitely one of those Brooklyn neighborhood gems!Stepping into Vinny's makes you feel like you've just been invited into an Italian grandmother's home and you know you'll leave stuffed! The walls are adorned with pictures filled with history and the brick interior gives the place a rustic look to go with its old world style of cooking and tradition. I came with my family on a Saturday night and the place filled up fast! Whenever I go to an Italian restaurant, we always get the calamari, followed by the house salad! Both were so good that it was devoured before I got a photo in! Oops! Then we got the meat lasagna and spaghetti carbonara to share and it was the perfect amount for 4 without leftovers!! Their portions are so big for the value while still maintaining quality food!! Can't ask for more! You can come for lunch or dinner and never be disappointed by anything on their menu!

Vinny's is a hole in the wall for homemade Italian pasta and meats. There an old school feel as soon as you walk in with many locals and regulars dining in groups or solo. Be prepared as the portions here are huge and you'll likely end up with leftover to take home.We started off with Garlic Bread with Cheese ($10) even though they offer complimentary bread as well. To be honest, I wouldn't get the garlic bread as this was overwhelming and heavy. The cheese also made the bread a bit soggy. On the other hand, the free bread was amazing! It came out freshly warm and toasted paired with soft and spreadable butter, so good! It's also the perfect vessel to soak in more sauce from your pasta. Onto the pasta, we ordered the Penne Alla Vodka ($20) and Meat Lasagna ($21). Both pasta were so hearty and flavorful. While they weren't the best pastas I've ever had, they both tasted homemade like if you're eating at grandma's house. I found that the lasagna noodles were a bit too thick and messy, so you couldn't see the layers though. Either way, it went into my stomach the same way and was a heartwarming meal.If you're looking to carb load and get a good deal, come here for a casual meal. You do get a good bang for your buck here. Plus, the free complimentary bread makes it worth it alone.

We love Vinny's! For my birthday we went to Vinny's for lunch and had two beautiful entrees. The portion sizes are huge and I always have enough to bring home. Service is always fantastic. Keep in mind that you can order a La carte from the menu or you can order from their hot bar for most of the day. Incredible meal as always. Don't skip this Italian destination.

So so so good! Freshness of the pasta, sauce, cheese, and vegetables made the meal a memorable one. The portion size is pretty big, so a great place to have family style meal. They provide complementary bread, and it paired well with the marinara sauce. You're going to have a great meal from here, so just go.

I love a good no frills neighborhood red sauce joint. This is where you'll find blue collar families and old solo Italian men dining and saying hello to the owner, Vinny. You can't go wrong with the chicken Parm, which you'll substitute (for an upcharge) with the delicious penne a la vodka, and the clams oreganado. The wine is fine but nothing special. Pass on the linguine with white clam sauce, which on this night was both overdone on the linguine side and underdone on the roasted garlic side. There was only one server over seeing the entire floor, who was doing not her best, and two in the kitchen that seemed pretty slow considering the mostly empty room (it took 40 mins for the appetizer to come out). This seems like a great place to share entrees with a group of friends on the cheap or take out a solid sandwich for lunch. Too bad they're not in GrubHub!

I wish I read the reviews earlier before coming here. There red sauce is addicting! We started with grilled shrimp and calamari that was fresh and delicious. The chicken Francese is good but their red sauce is even better. Next time I'm going to go with a chicken parm. Paired it with a side of baked ziti that was delicious. Friendly waiters and old school feel but very clean. Portion was large and bread is so good !
