I'm not really into Williamsburg's hipster aesthetic or bougie yuppie culture, but I was hungry for pizza and noticed Vinnie's Pizzeria standing out among the rest. Maybe my childhood fondness for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) prompted me to walk in, and I was glad to see they had pizzas you wouldn't ordinarily find elsewhere. I tried the Mexican corn pizza, which they nailed--it was as sweet and savory as the actual dish. For $6, it was a little pricey, but I shrugged it off because the slice was excellent.I'm still a TMNT fan, as much of the comic and media represents NYC's goofy and colorful culture with retro art. This pizzeria feels like an old-school spot with a new generation running it. Part of me felt like a teenager hanging out at a cozy hangout. It's clean, the music is a mix of '60s and '70s Motown, and the diversity of the clientele and staff is noticeable. This place definitely has Turtle Power!

My favorite pizza shop! Small inside but the pizza is worth the crowd. Staff is always so nice and has a great vibe. My go-to is the elote slice. Absolutely slaps. They have all the fixings on the side as well including hot sauce, barbecue sauce, Parmesan, etc. They are open late on weekends and give a discount if you pay in cash!

The elote slice is an elite slice that you can find at vinnies. This shop is a simple shop that does things really well. The workers are nice and welcoming and they heat your slice up in record time. The flavors of the elote are amazing, and it's a super sexy slice to take pics of. Well worth it to slide by and grab a slice or two when you're in the city.

Grabbed a slice of pep after a lot of walking around. Nice staff and a few tables. They had a lot of interesting veggie options and some vegan. Simple easy option.

Came back for tour #3 and had to stop at Vinnie's. Split a slice since we just finished eating lunch.Indoor seating is now available (but very limited). Service was great and pizza was just as good as the first time. I overheard the worker tell a customer the corn was his favorite, so that is a slice I will try next time!!

Vinnie's Pizzeria is pretty well regarded, but I'm not a huge fan. While the pizza I have had is good (but nothing amazing), there weren't many pizza by the slice options that appealed to me, as I didn't care for many of the toppings (pork, goat cheese, BBQ sauce, etc). Also, there was no inside dining (at least not in 2022), just a couple of small tables outside, so no washrooms (therefore nowhere to wash your hands). Fine if you just want a quick slice on the go and don't mind eating food with grubby hands, but not a comfortable dining experience. They do have a cool Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles bench though.[Yelp collections: East Coast 2022; NY Summer 2022; NY Christmas 2022]

I'm surprised this place is rated so high. I stopped by a late Saturday night, and we just got a slice of their pepperoni. The crust had no color to it; literally white as raw dough, which I didn't know was possible. It also had no chew to it, but was just cardboardy. The actual slice also was strongly lacking in flavor, and the slice was clearly stale. Maybe I need to give another go at a more normal hour, but even late night, drunk, I could tell this slice was not good.
