Went in at ~3am on a Sunday morning and joined a long line of late-night clubbers and partiers. The inside of the shop was real small with no tables and floor to ceiling windows on the shopfront which allowed passerby's to peek in. If everyone was sardined in the place, you'd probably fit ~40 people, but the line of people who fit inside was maybe 12 with the line also continuing outside.Got a thin crust margherita slice and tried a bite of the thick crust white pizza (cheese & honey).Margherita: good, standard fare margherita. Cheesy, marinara-y, not sooooo mozzarella-y, but solid. Maybe not worth $5. 8/10.White pizza: with the hot honey they provide... fire. Straight flames. There are multiple types of cheese on the pizza, and the honey and spice really round out the flavor and fattiness of the cheese and bread. It's so popular that I didn't get to try a whole slice bc it was sold out by the time I got to the front of the line! Worth the $5. 9/10.Overall, the white pizza is great drunchies or a great snack if you're hungry from exploring the NY streets!

As per the name of this place, you don't go here for the generic NY style thin crust slices even though they are good (and above average at that.) You go here specifically for the Sicilian style squares. The Grandma Slice here is one of the better slices in the city mostly because of one reason; the pesto. Pesto on pizzas are either bland or have too much garlic or are too herbal and honestly the pesto here is perfect with just a great mixture of herbs, garlic, and nuttiness. If they served a good fusilli here with their excellent pesto at a reasonable price, I would probably bring it as one the better pesto pastas in the city. The pepperoni slice is also tasty and the fact that they're related to Made in New York which happens to be in a feud with another place not to be named that is known for their pepperoni squares adds a bit of extra humor. In terms of the rest of the slice, this sauce quality is good, the cheese is good and well baked on top, and the crust is a bit thick as per the expected style outside of the thinner top which has a satisfying crackle and crunch. The fact of this spot also has locations around the city such as most recently in the food desert that is Midtown West is a good thing as well. Mid 4 for the Grandma Slice particularly because of the pesto. Would be a mid 3 for the rest of the slices. The price is a bit high but yep it's worth it.

Get the grandma slice. Seriously. While there's no shortage of pizza places in and around the Christopher Street area, this one stands out. They specialize in more of a thin, square slice- hence the name.I generally am a savory sauce person. The sauce here is on the sweeter side, but only just so, so I forgive it given how complex the flavor is.The crust is very good. Crispy and while slightly thicker than a classic NY slice, it's not doughy at all.

It's been a long while since I've been to this yummy spot and let's just say that next time it's not gonna be that long! One random nice after midnight it was all about some square and what better spot to get some than here!So it was all about the margarita pizza and let me say it tastes just as amazing as it looks it was soo full of flavor and just really hit the spot with each bite of that yummy slice like so much so!The pepperoni square was also nothing short of delicious too as it was packed with flavor and pepperoni it was like NYC style but in square form making for a really incredible slice from start to finish! The eggplant pizza looked amazing too and it's definitely on the list to get next time as I'm sure it will be just as good as the others! This is a little shop right across from Tompkins Square Park so it's not the easiest place to find parking but it's definitely worth it so don't pass it by!Overall this is some of the best pizza I've ever had so if you find yourself in the area do your taste buds a treat and get some square slices!

My go-to spot for a late night slice. Always tastes fresh and comes out piping hot. Fair price for the quality and service - there's a reason there's often a line out the door.

Pizza was okay, but not really sure why this is such a highly rated spot. I came on a Saturday night after a concert nearby, and the line was very short. There's no seating or stools in this pizza spot, so do expect it to be a quick bite or something to takeout. The service was a bit curt. I shared a margarita and vodka square slice with my boyfriend. The vodka slice was pretty disappointing, and it wasn't saucy enough for how thick the crust was. It was mostly very bready and not terribly flavorful. The margarita was good. I liked the sauce and that it wasn't too greasy. It wasn't particularly special, though! My friends also got their cheese slice, and the crust lacked a lot of structure.

Okay this pizza was fire. In an area riddled with viral pizza spots, I was hoping to find something a bit quieter. Enter village square pizza. Completely empty on at 2:00 in the afternoon, I entered this small little pizza parlor eagerly saluted by the lone worker. Super nice and friendly. The options looked great, and they all had a best seller notation next to them. So, apparently everything here is good. I went with the grandma slice. A thin crusted, square slice lathered in marinara then topped with a spritz of pesto. I love a thin crust pizza with some good char. This was a solid slice. A little salty, ever so savory. Great texture, crisp. The slice was a solid size, too. To be truthful, one of the better slices I had on my trip. I would not out it in the elite category of slices, but I still think it is a quality slice.Plus, there is something about eating a piece of pizza alone in a small parlor like that. It just feels right.

You might see this pic and think, wait, is that Prince St? And I feel like they want you to. Tastes and looks so similar to Prince St's iconic slice, but just missing a little something. Still a solid slice and I'd eat again.

Came around 11pm, an hour to closing. They were pretty much done for the day, and the staff were starting to clean and close. No more pizzas in the displays, but they had a few slices of everything left on the back table. I got a square slice of the pepperoni and vodka. Not sure if they were okay with me eating in, but since they gave me my order bagged, I just ate outside. Dough is good, has a good crisp to it exteriorly, and the dough is pillowy on the inside. Vodka slice was on the sweeter side for me. I like my vodka slices to be more balanced. Pepperoni was okay. I prefer Prince Street's more. The pepperoni cups were too charred for my liking.

One of the hardest things I ever had to do was break up with East Village Pizza. I'll spare you the novel, but I couldn't justify paying $6.25 for a single slice of thin crust pepperoni pizza that would just wake my stomach up and leave me hungrier than before. After taking a few months to heal, I was finally ready to get back on the horse and find a new late night pizza spot to hit after striking out at the local bars.On Saturday, after striking out at the local bars, my buddy mentioned this place and that it was a good Prince Street Pizza comparable. We walked in here and were met with a small line and not one, but two, neon signs. I love a good neon sign. The staff is LOCKED in and are running this thing like a finely tuned machine. I opted to get two slices of the thick square pizza, with the cute little slightly charred pepperonis on top hehe. $11.98 total for two thick slices. HUGE.I think this may be better than Prince Street, but if it's not, it's 1a/1b. The crust is perfectly crisped, and those pepperonis are a gift from god. True artistry. After demolishing the first slice, I was like "Damn I lowkey could have been good with just one slice..." I think I am still a bit scarred from the East Village Pizza relationship.I have found my new late night pizza spot. I want to leave you, my dear reader, with a quote from Marilyn Monroe:"Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__
